2018-03-16arch: remove tile portArnd Bergmann1-57/+0
The Tile architecture port was added by Chris Metcalf in 2010, and maintained until early 2018 when he orphaned it due to his departure from Mellanox, and nobody else stepped up to maintain it. The product line is still around in the form of the BlueField SoC, but no longer uses the Tile architecture. There are also still products for sale with Tile-GX SoCs, notably the Mikrotik CCR router family. The products all use old (linux-3.3) kernels with lots of patches and won't be upgraded by their manufacturers. There have been efforts to port both OpenWRT and Debian to these, but both projects have stalled and are very unlikely to be continued in the future. Given that we are reasonably sure that nobody is still using the port with an upstream kernel any more, it seems better to remove it now while the port is in a good shape than to let it bitrot for a few years first. 2016-06-07tile: allow disabling CONFIG_EARLY_PRINTKChris Metcalf1-0/+5
In that case, any users of early_panic() end up calling panic(). Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@mellanox.com>
2013-08-12tile: various console improvementsChris Metcalf1-2/+1
This change improves and cleans up the tile console. - We enable HVC_IRQ support on tilegx, with the addition of a new Tilera hypervisor API for tilegx to allow a console IPI. If IPI support is not available we fall back to the previous polling mode. - We simplify the earlyprintk code to use CON_BOOT and eliminate some of the other supporting earlyprintk code. - A new tile_console_write() primitive is used to send output to the console and is factored out of the hvc_tile driver. This lets us support a "sim_console" boot argument to allow using simulator hooks to send output to the "console" as a slightly faster alternative to emulating the hardware more directly. 2012-05-25arch/tile: fix hardwall for tilegx and generalize for idn and ipiChris Metcalf1-5/+5
The hardwall drain code was not properly implemented for tilegx, just tilepro, so you couldn't reliably restart an application that made use of the udn. In addition, the code was only applicable to the udn (user dynamic network). On tilegx there is a second user network that is available (the "idn"), and there is support for having I/O shims deliver user-level interrupts to applications ("ipi") which functions in a very similar way to the inter-core permissions used for udn/idn. So this change also generalizes the code from supporting just the udn to supports udn/idn/ipi on tilegx. By default we now use /dev/hardwall/{udn,idn,ipi} with separate minor numbers for the three devices. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>

2010-08-15arch/tile: export only COMMAND_LINE_SIZE to userspace.Chris Metcalf1-2/+6
This fixes a failure in "make headers_check" for tile. I hadn't realized this file was exported to userspace by default. Signed-off-by: Chris Metcalf <cmetcalf@tilera.com>
2010-06-05arch/tile: core support for Tilera 32-bit chips.Chris Metcalf1-0/+32
This change is the core kernel support for TILEPro and TILE64 chips. No driver support (except the console driver) is included yet. This includes the relevant Linux headers in asm/; the low-level low-level "Tile architecture" headers in arch/, which are shared with the hypervisor, etc., and are build-system agnostic; and the relevant hypervisor headers in hv/.
