2021-07-23igb: Add counter to i21x doublecheckGrzegorz Siwik1-1/+5
Add failed_counter to i21x_doublecheck(). There is possibility that loop will never end. With this patch the loop will stop after maximum 3 retries to write to MTA_REGISTER Signed-off-by: Grzegorz Siwik <grzegorz.siwik@intel.com> Tested-by: Tony Brelinski <tonyx.brelinski@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Nguyen <anthony.l.nguyen@intel.com>
2021-04-16igb: Add double-check MTA_REGISTER for i210 and i211Grzegorz Siwik1-0/+27
Add new function which checks MTA_REGISTER if its filled correctly. If not then writes again to same register. There is possibility that i210 and i211 could not accept MTA_REGISTER settings, specially when you add and remove many of multicast addresses in short time. Without this patch there is possibility that multicast settings will be not always set correctly in hardware. 2020-09-26intel-ethernet: clean up W=1 warnings in kdocJesse Brandeburg1-0/+1
This takes care of all of the trivial W=1 fixes in the Intel Ethernet drivers, which allows developers and maintainers to build more of the networking tree with more complete warning checks. There are three classes of kdoc warnings fixed: - cannot understand function prototype: 'x' - Excess function parameter 'x' description in 'y' - Function parameter or member 'x' not described in 'y' All of the changes were trivial comment updates on function headers. Inspired by Lee Jones' series of wireless work to do the same. Compile tested only, and passes simple test of $ git ls-files *.[ch] | egrep drivers/net/ethernet/intel | \ xargs scripts/kernel-doc -none Signed-off-by: Jesse Brandeburg <jesse.brandeburg@intel.com> Tested-by: Aaron Brown <aaron.f.brown@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-05-29igb: make igb_set_fc_watermarks() return voidJason Yan1-6/+3
This function always return 0 now, we can make it return void to simplify the code. This fixes the following coccicheck warning: drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/e1000_mac.c:728:5-12: Unneeded variable: "ret_val". Return "0" on line 751 Signed-off-by: Jason Yan <yanaijie@huawei.com> Tested-by: Aaron Brown <aaron.f.brown@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2018-04-27net: intel: Cleanup the copyright/license headersJeff Kirsher1-22/+1
After many years of having a ~30 line copyright and license header to our source files, we are finally able to reduce that to one line with the advent of the SPDX identifier. Also caught a few files missing the SPDX license identifier, so fixed them up. 2016-05-14igb: use BIT() macro or unsigned prefixJacob Keller1-5/+5
For bitshifts, we should make use of the BIT macro when possible, and ensure that other bitshifts are marked as unsigned. This helps prevent signed bitshift errors, and ensures similar style. Make use of GENMASK and the unsigned postfix where BIT() isn't appropriate. Signed-off-by: Jacob Keller <jacob.e.keller@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2016-02-16igb: Merge VLVF configuration into igb_vfta_setAlexander Duyck1-4/+115
This change makes it so that we can merge the configuration of the VLVF registers into the setting of the VFTA register. By doing this we simplify the logic and make use of similar functionality that we have already added for ixgbe making it easier to maintain both drivers. Also made changes to magic number and the for loop to reduce number of shifts. 2012-12-01igb: Fix SerDes autoneg flow control.Carolyn Wyborny1-0/+124
This patch enables flow control to be set in SerDes autoneg mode. This is done the way it is done for copper, but relies on a different set of register/bit checks since this is all done within the MAC registers. 2011-10-21igb: VFTA Table Fix for i350 devicesCarolyn Wyborny1-3/+53
Due to a hardware problem, writes to the VFTA register can theoretically fail. Although the likelihood of this is very low.
