Add documentation for AMD-Xilinx Versal platform Inter Processor Interrupt
controller. Versal IPI controller contains buffer-less IPI which do not
have buffers for message passing. For such IPI channels message buffers
are not expected and only notification to/from remote agent is expected.

"xlnx,ipi-id" is handled as required property but is
missing from binding doc required list of mailbox child node.
Add that to required list. This does not break backward

Pull pwm updates from Thierry Reding:
"This contains a bunch of cleanups and simplifications across the
board, as well as a number of small fixes.
Perhaps the most notable change here is the addition of an API that
allows PWMs to be used in atomic contexts, which is useful when time-
critical operations are involved, such as using a PWM to generate IR
signals.
Finally, I have decided to step down as PWM subsystem maintainer. Due
to other responsibilities I have lately not been able to find the time
that the subsystem deserves and Uwe, who has been helping out a lot
for the past few years and has many things planned for the future, has
kindly volunteered to take over. I have no doubt that he will be a
suitable replacement"

Pull gpio updates from Bartosz Golaszewski:
"We have two new drivers, an assortment of updates and cleanups to many
others, and first part of the big rework of the core GPIOLIB that's
currently underway.
Add to that some code shrink in the character device module and
updates to DT bindings and that's pretty much it.
Core GPIOLIB:
- protect the global list of GPIO devices with a read-write semaphore
as it is rarely modified but can be traversed by multiple readers
at once
- remove GPIO devices from the global list when they are
*unregistered* and not when they are *released* (which only happens
when the last reference is dropped) as this may lead to a
successful lookup of an unregistered device
- remove the unnecessary "extra_checks" switch
- rename functions that are called with a lock taken
- remove duplicate includes
Character device handling:
- use locking guards to reduce the code size
- allocate the big linereq structure using the more suitable
kvzalloc()
- redulce the size of critical sections
- improve documentation
- move the debounce_period_us field out of struct gpio_desc
New drivers:
- Nuvoton NPCM SGPIO driver for BMC NPCM7xx/NPCM8xx
- Realtek DHC (Digital Home Center) SoC GPIO driver
Driver improvements:
- replace gpiochip_is_requested() with a safer alternative in the
form of gpiochip_dup_line_label() as the former returns a pointer
to a string that can be deleted
- implement the dbg_show() callback in gpio-sim
- improve the coding style for local variables by removing
unnecessary tabs
- use generic device properties instead of OF variants in gpio-mmio
- use the preferred coding style for __free() in gpio-mockup
- reuse PM ops from the gpio-tangier in gpio-elkhartlake
- rework PM and use cleanup helpers in gpio-tangier
- fix the EIC configuration in gpio-pmic-eic-sprd
- remove the unneeded call to platform_set_drvdata() in gpio-sifive
- use generic GPIO helpers for driver callbacks in gpio-dwapb
- add clock support on certain pins of gpio-ixp4xx
- don't use the core-specific DEBUG_GPIO switch in drivers
- kerneldoc improvements
DT bindings:
- add bindings for the new Realtek and Nuvoton devices
- allow gpio-ranges in gpio-dwapb
- support GPIO hogs in gpio-rockchip
- describe the label property in gpio-zynqmp-modepin
Other:
- header cleanups
- forward declarations cleanups"

Pull SoC DT updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"There is one new SoC for each 32-bit Arm and 64-bit RISC-V, but both
the Rockchips rv1109 and Sopgho CV1812H are just minor variations of
already supported chips.
The other six new SoCs are all part of existing arm64 families, but
are somewhat more interesting:
- Samsung ExynosAutov920 is an automotive chip, and the first one we
support based on the Cortex-A78AE core with lockstep mode.
- Google gs101 (Tensor G1) is the chip used in a number of Pixel
phones, and is grouped with Samsung Exynos here since it is based
on the same SoC design, sharing most of its IP blocks with that
series.
- MediaTek MT8188 is a new chip used for mid-range tablets and
Chromebooks, using two Cortex-A78 cores where the older MT8195 had
four of them.
- Qualcomm SM8650 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) is their current top range
phone SoC and the first supported chip based on Cortex-X4,
Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520.
- Qualcomm X1E80100 (Snapdragon X Elite) in turn is the latest Laptop
chip using the custom Oryon cores.
- Unisoc UMS9620 (Tanggula 7 series) is a 5G phone SoC based on
Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55
In terms of boards, we have
- Five old Microsoft Lumia phones, the HTC One Mini 2, Motorola Moto
G 4G, and Huawei Honor 5X/GR5, all based on Snapdragon SoCs.
- Multiple Rockchips mobile gaming systems (Anbernic RG351V, Powkiddy
RK2023, Powkiddy X55) along with the Sonoff iHost Smart Home Hub
and a few Rockchips SBCs
- Some ComXpress boards based on Marvell CN913x, which is the
follow-up to Armada 7xxx/8xxx.
- Six new industrial/embedded boards based on NXP i.MX8 and i.MX9
- Mediatek MT8183 based Chromebooks from Lenovo, Asus and Acer.
- Toradex Verdin AM62 Mallow carrier for TI AM62
- Huashan Pi board based on the SophGo CV1812H RISC-V chip
- Two boards based on Allwinner H616/H618
- A number of reference boards for various added SoCs from Qualcomm,

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next
Pull networking updates from Paolo Abeni:
"The most interesting thing is probably the networking structs
reorganization and a significant amount of changes is around
self-tests.
Core & protocols:
- Analyze and reorganize core networking structs (socks, netdev,
netns, mibs) to optimize cacheline consumption and set up build
time warnings to safeguard against future header changes
This improves TCP performances with many concurrent connections up
to 40%
- Add page-pool netlink-based introspection, exposing the memory
usage and recycling stats. This helps indentify bad PP users and
possible leaks
- Refine TCP/DCCP source port selection to no longer favor even
source port at connect() time when IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE is set. This
lowers the time taken by connect() for hosts having many active
connections to the same destination
- Refactor the TCP bind conflict code, shrinking related socket
structs
- Refactor TCP SYN-Cookie handling, as a preparation step to allow
arbitrary SYN-Cookie processing via eBPF
- Tune optmem_max for 0-copy usage, increasing the default value to
128KB and namespecifying it
- Allow coalescing for cloned skbs coming from page pools, improving
RX performances with some common configurations
- Reduce extension header parsing overhead at GRO time
- Add bridge MDB bulk deletion support, allowing user-space to
request the deletion of matching entries
- Reorder nftables struct members, to keep data accessed by the
datapath first
- Introduce TC block ports tracking and use. This allows supporting
multicast-like behavior at the TC layer
- Remove UAPI support for retired TC qdiscs (dsmark, CBQ and ATM) and
classifiers (RSVP and tcindex)
- More data-race annotations
- Extend the diag interface to dump TCP bound-only sockets
- Conditional notification of events for TC qdisc class and actions
- Support for WPAN dynamic associations with nearby devices, to form
a sub-network using a specific PAN ID
- Implement SMCv2.1 virtual ISM device support
- Add support for Batman-avd mulicast packet type
BPF:
- Tons of verifier improvements:
- BPF register bounds logic and range support along with a large
test suite
- log improvements
- complete precision tracking support for register spills
- track aligned STACK_ZERO cases as imprecise spilled registers.
This improves the verifier "instructions processed" metric from
single digit to 50-60% for some programs
- support for user's global BPF subprogram arguments with few
commonly requested annotations for a better developer
experience
- support tracking of BPF_JNE which helps cases when the compiler
transforms (unsigned) "a > 0" into "if a == 0 goto xxx" and the
like
- several fixes
- Add initial TX metadata implementation for AF_XDP with support in
mlx5 and stmmac drivers. Two types of offloads are supported right
now, that is, TX timestamp and TX checksum offload
- Fix kCFI bugs in BPF all forms of indirect calls from BPF into
kernel and from kernel into BPF work with CFI enabled. This allows
BPF to work with CONFIG_FINEIBT=y
- Change BPF verifier logic to validate global subprograms lazily
instead of unconditionally before the main program, so they can be
guarded using BPF CO-RE techniques
- Support uid/gid options when mounting bpffs
- Add a new kfunc which acquires the associated cgroup of a task
within a specific cgroup v1 hierarchy where the latter is
identified by its id
- Extend verifier to allow bpf_refcount_acquire() of a map value
field obtained via direct load which is a use-case needed in
sched_ext
- Add BPF link_info support for uprobe multi link along with bpftool
integration for the latter
- Support for VLAN tag in XDP hints
- Remove deprecated bpfilter kernel leftovers given the project is
developed in user-space (https://github.com/facebook/bpfilter)
Misc:
- Support for parellel TC self-tests execution
- Increase MPTCP self-tests coverage
- Updated the bridge documentation, including several so-far
undocumented features
- Convert all the net self-tests to run in unique netns, to avoid
random failures due to conflict and allow concurrent runs
- Add TCP-AO self-tests
- Add kunit tests for both cfg80211 and mac80211
- Autogenerate Netlink families documentation from YAML spec
- Add yml-gen support for fixed headers and recursive nests, the tool
can now generate user-space code for all genetlink families for
which we have specs
- A bunch of additional module descriptions fixes
- Catch incorrect freeing of pages belonging to a page pool
Driver API:
- Rust abstractions for network PHY drivers; do not cover yet the
full C API, but already allow implementing functional PHY drivers
in rust
- Introduce queue and NAPI support in the netdev Netlink interface,
allowing complete access to the device <> NAPIs <> queues
relationship
- Introduce notifications filtering for devlink to allow control
application scale to thousands of instances
- Improve PHY validation, requesting rate matching information for
each ethtool link mode supported by both the PHY and host
- Add support for ethtool symmetric-xor RSS hash
- ACPI based Wifi band RFI (WBRF) mitigation feature for the AMD
platform
- Expose pin fractional frequency offset value over new DPLL generic
netlink attribute
- Convert older drivers to platform remove callback returning void
- Add support for PHY package MMD read/write
New hardware / drivers:
- Ethernet:
- Octeon CN10K devices
- Broadcom 5760X P7
- Qualcomm SM8550 SoC
- Texas Instrument DP83TG720S PHY
- Bluetooth:

Following the examples of cbom-block-size and cboz-block-size,
cbop-block-size is the cache size of Zicbop (cbo.prefetch) operations.
The most common case is to have all cache block sizes to be the same
size (e.g. profiles such as rva22u64 mandates a 64 bytes size for all
cache operations), but there's no specification requirement for that,
and an implementation can have different cache sizes for each operation.

The current description implies that only a single address translation
mode is available to the operating system. However, some implementations
support multiple address translation modes, and the operating system is
free to choose between them.
Per the RISC-V privileged specification, Sv48 implementations must also
implement Sv39, and likewise Sv57 implies support for Sv48. This means
it is possible to describe all supported address translation modes using
a single value, by naming the largest supported mode. This appears to
have been the intended usage of the property, so note it explicitly.

The wording in the current documentation is a little strong. The
intention was not to fix any particular interrupt as wakeup capable but
leave those details to the device. It wasn't intended to enforce any
rules as what can be or can't be a wakeup interrupt.
Soften the wording to not mandate that the 'wakeup-source' property be
used, and clarify what it means when an interrupt is marked (or not
marked) for wakeup.

Pull thermal control updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"These add support for the D1/T113s THS controller to the sun8i driver
and a DT-based mechanism for platforms to indicate a preference to
reboot (instead of shutting down) on crossing a critical trip point,
fix issues, make other improvements (in the IPA governor, the Intel
HFI driver, the exynos driver and the thermal netlink interface among
other places) and clean up code.
One long-standing issue addressed here is that trip point crossing
notifications sent to user space might be unreliable due to the
incorrect handling of trip point hysteresis in the thermal core:
multiple notifications might be sent for the same event or there might
be events without any notification at all.
Specifics:
- Add dynamic thresholds for trip point crossing detection to prevent
trip point crossing notifications from being sent at incorrect
times or not at all in some cases (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Fix synchronization issues related to the resume of thermal zones
during a system-wide resume and allow thermal zones to be resumed
concurrently (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Modify the thermal zone unregistration to wait for the given zone
to go away completely before returning to the caller and rework the
sysfs interface for trip points on top of that (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Fix a possible NULL pointer dereference in thermal zone
registration error path (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Clean up the IPA thermal governor and modify it (with the help of a
new governor callback) to avoid allocating and freeing memory every
time its throttling callback is invoked (Lukasz Luba)
- Make the IPA thermal governor handle thermal instance weight
changes via sysfs correctly (Lukasz Luba)
- Update the thermal netlink code to avoid sending messages if there
are no recipients (Stanislaw Gruszka)
- Convert Mediatek Thermal to the json-schema (Rafał Miłecki)
- Fix thermal DT bindings issue on Loongson (Binbin Zhou)
- Fix returning NULL instead of -ENODEV during thermal probe on
Loogsoon (Binbin Zhou)
- Add thermal DT binding for tsens on the SM8650 platform (Neil
Armstrong)
- Add reboot on the critical trip point crossing option feature

- Use DEFINE_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS do define PM functions for thermal
suspend/resume on AmLogic (Uwe Kleine-König)
- Add D1/T113s THS controller support to the Sun8i thermal control

- Fix example in the thermal DT binding for QCom SPMI (Johan Hovold)
- Fix compilation warning in the tmon utility (Florian Eckert)
- Add support for interrupt-based thermal configuration on Exynos
along with a set of related cleanups (Mateusz Majewski)
- Make the Intel HFI thermal driver enable an HFI instance (eg.
processor package) from its first online CPU and disable it when
the last CPU in it goes offline (Ricardo Neri)
- Fix a kernel-doc warning and a spello in the cpuidle_cooling
thermal driver (Randy Dunlap)
- Move the .get_temp() thermal zone callback presence check to the
thermal zone registration code (Daniel Lezcano)
- Use the for_each_trip() macro for trip points table walks in a few
places in the thermal core (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Make all trip point updates (via sysfs as well as from the platform
firmware) trigger trip change notifications (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Drop redundant code from the thermal core and make one function in
it take a const pointer argument (Rafael J. Wysocki)"

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/broonie/regulator
Pull regulator updates from Mark Brown:
"The main updates for this release are around monitoring of regulators,
largely for error handling purposes. We allow the stream of regulator
events to be seen by userspace as netlink events and allow system
integrators to describe individual regulators as system critical with
information on how long the system is expected to last on error. The
system level error handling is very much about best effort problem
mitigation rather than providing something fully robust, the initial
drive was to provide a mechanism for trying to avoid initiating any
new writes to flash once we notice the power going out.
Otherwise it's very quiet, mainly several new Qualcomm devices.
- Support for marking regulators as system critical and providing
information on how long the system might last with those regulators
in a failure state, hooked into the existing critical shutdown
error handling.
- Optional support for generating netlink events for events, there
are use cases for system monitoring UIs and error handling.
- A command line option to leave unused controllable regulators
enabled, useful for debugging. We already only disable regulators
we were explicitly given permission to control.
- Support for Quacomm MP5496, PM8010 and PM8937"

If the location of the kernel sources contains the string that we're
filtering for using DT_SCHEMA_FILES, then all schemas will currently be
matched, returned and checked, not just the ones we actually expected.
As an example, if the kernel sources happen to be below a directory
'google', and DT_SCHEMA_FILES=google, everything is checked. More
common examples might be having the sources below people's home
directories that contain the string st or arm and then searching for
those. The list is endless.
Fix this by only matching for schemas below the kernel source's
bindings directory.
Note that I opted for the implementation here so as to not having to
deal with escaping DT_SCHEMA_FILES, which would have been the
alternative if the grep match itself had been updated.

A driver for Microsoft's firmware-based Trusted Platform Module (fTPM)
was merged with commit 09e574831b27 ("tpm/tpm_ftpm_tee: A driver for
firmware TPM running inside TEE"), but its devicetree bindings were not.
This is the only remaining undocumented compatible string for a TPM,
so add a DT schema based on the patch linked below.

Convert the devicetree bindings for the Google Security Chip H1 running
Cr50 firmware to DT schema.
The chip can be attached to SPI or I²C. Existing devicetrees use the
same "google,cr50" compatible string for both cases without additionally
specifying a generic "tcg,tpm_tis-spi" or "tcg,tpm-tis-i2c" compatible.
The chip therefore cannot be documented in the tcg,tpm_tis-spi.yaml and
tcg,tpm-tis-i2c.yaml schemas: The validator would select both of them
and complain about SPI properties when the chip is an I²C peripheral.
So document the chip in a schema of its own which includes both, SPI and
I²C properties by reference.

A significant number of Trusted Platform Modules conform to the "TIS"
specification published by the Trusted Computing Group ("TCG PC Client
Specific TPM Interface Specification"). These chips typically use an
SPI, I²C or LPC bus as transport (via MMIO in the latter case). Some
of them even support multiple of those buses (selectable through a
config strap) or the same chip is available in multiple SKUs, each with
a different bus interface.
The devicetree bindings for these TPMs have not been converted to DT
schema yet and are spread out across 3 generic files and 2 chip-specific
files. A few TPM compatible strings were added to trivial-devices.yaml
even though additional properties are documented in the plaintext
bindings.
Consolidate the devicetree bindings into 3 yaml files, one per bus.
Move common properties to a separate tpm-common.yaml.
Document compatible strings which are supported by the TPM TIS driver
but were neglected to be added to the devicetree bindings.
Document the memory-region property recently introduced by commit
1e2714bb83fc ("tpm: Add reserved memory event log").

The integration for this SoC is different from the currently existing: It
needs it's PHY's reference clock rate to calculate the DDC bus frequency
correctly. The controller is also part of a powerdomain, so this gets added
as an mandatory property for this variant.
