2020-03-12dt-bindings: soc: qcom: fix IPA bindingAlex Elder1-13/+19
The definitions for the "qcom,smem-states" and "qcom,smem-state-names" properties need to list their "$ref" under an "allOf" keyword. In addition, fix two problems in the example at the end: - Use #include for header files that define needed symbolic values - Terminate the line that includes the "ipa-shared" register space name with a comma rather than a semicolon Finally, update some white space in the example for better alignment. 2020-02-28net/mlx5e: Add devlink fdb_large_groups parameterJianbo Liu1-0/+6
Add a devlink parameter to control the number of large groups in a autogrouped flow table. The default value is 15, and the range is between 1 and 1024. The size of each large group can be calculated according to the following formula: size = 4M / (fdb_large_groups + 1). Examples: - Set the number of large groups to 20. $ devlink dev param set pci/0000:82:00.0 name fdb_large_groups \ cmode driverinit value 20 Then run devlink reload command to apply the new value. $ devlink dev reload pci/0000:82:00.0 - Read the number of large groups in flow table. $ devlink dev param show pci/0000:82:00.0 name fdb_large_groups pci/0000:82:00.0: name fdb_large_groups type driver-specific values: cmode driverinit value 20 Signed-off-by: Jianbo Liu <jianbol@mellanox.com> Reviewed-by: Vlad Buslov <vladbu@mellanox.com> Reviewed-by: Roi Dayan <roid@mellanox.com> Acked-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: Saeed Mahameed <saeedm@mellanox.com>

2020-02-27net: phylink: propagate resolved link config via mac_link_up()Russell King1-3/+14
Propagate the resolved link parameters via the mac_link_up() call for MACs that do not automatically track their PCS state. We propagate the link parameters via function arguments so that inappropriate members of struct phylink_link_state can't be accessed, and creating a new structure just for this adds needless complexity to the API. 2020-02-26kbuild: remove wrong documentation about mandatory-yMasahiro Yamada1-3/+0
This sentence does not make sense in the section about mandatory-y. This seems to be a copy-paste mistake of commit fcc8487d477a ("uapi: export all headers under uapi directories"). The correct description would be "The convention is to list one mandatory-y per line ...". I just removed it instead of fixing it. 2020-02-25net: Special handling for IP & MPLS.Martin Varghese1-1/+19
Special handling is needed in bareudp module for IP & MPLS as they support more than one ethertypes. MPLS has 2 ethertypes. 0x8847 for MPLS unicast and 0x8848 for MPLS multicast. While decapsulating MPLS packet from UDP packet the tunnel destination IP address is checked to determine the ethertype. The ethertype of the packet will be set to 0x8848 if the tunnel destination IP address is a multicast IP address. The ethertype of the packet will be set to 0x8847 if the tunnel destination IP address is a unicast IP address. IP has 2 ethertypes.0x0800 for IPV4 and 0x86dd for IPv6. The version field of the IP header tunnelled will be checked to determine the ethertype. This special handling to tunnel additional ethertypes will be disabled by default and can be enabled using a flag called multiproto. This flag can be used only with ethertypes 0x8847 and 0x0800. It's much less likely than brk() to matter in practice, but enforcing the principle of "don't permit the creation of mappings using tagged addresses" leads to a straightforward ABI without having to worry about the "but what if a crazy program did foo?" aspect of things. 2020-02-21docs/bpf: Update bpf development Q/A fileYonghong Song1-17/+12
bpf now has its own mailing list bpf@vger.kernel.org. Update the bpf_devel_QA.rst file to reflect this. 2020-02-21bootconfig: Reject subkey and value on same parent keyMasami Hiramatsu1-0/+7
Reject if a value node is mixed with subkey node on same parent key node. A value node can not co-exist with subkey node under some key node, e.g. key = value key.subkey = another-value This is not be allowed because bootconfig API is not designed to handle such case. 2020-02-21bootconfig: Add bootconfig magic word for indicating bootconfig explicitlyMasami Hiramatsu1-3/+7
Add bootconfig magic word to the end of bootconfig on initrd image for indicating explicitly the bootconfig is there. Also tools/bootconfig treats wrong size or wrong checksum or parse error as an error, because if there is a bootconfig magic word, there must be a bootconfig. The bootconfig magic word is "#BOOTCONFIG\n", 12 bytes word. Thus the block image of the initrd file with bootconfig is as follows. [Initrd][bootconfig][size][csum][#BOOTCONFIG\n] Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/158220112263.26565.3944814205960612841.stgit@devnote2 Suggested-by: Steven Rostedt <rostedt@goodmis.org> Signed-off-by: Masami Hiramatsu <mhiramat@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Steven Rostedt (VMware) <rostedt@goodmis.org>
2020-02-20mm: Avoid creating virtual address aliases in brk()/mmap()/mremap()Catalin Marinas1-2/+9
Currently the arm64 kernel ignores the top address byte passed to brk(), mmap() and mremap(). When the user is not aware of the 56-bit address limit or relies on the kernel to return an error, untagging such pointers has the potential to create address aliases in user-space. Passing a tagged address to munmap(), madvise() is permitted since the tagged pointer is expected to be inside an existing mapping. The current behaviour breaks the existing glibc malloc() implementation which relies on brk() with an address beyond 56-bit to be rejected by the kernel. Remove untagging in the above functions by partially reverting commit ce18d171cb73 ("mm: untag user pointers in mmap/munmap/mremap/brk"). In addition, update the arm64 tagged-address-abi.rst document accordingly. 2020-02-20dt-bindings: media: csi: Fix clocks descriptionMaxime Ripard1-12/+18
Commit 1de243b07666 ("media: dt-bindings: media: sun4i-csi: Add compatible for CSI1 on A10/A20") introduced support for the CSI1 controller on A10 and A20 that unlike CSI0 doesn't have an ISP and therefore only have two clocks, the bus and module clocks. The clocks and clock-names properties have thus been modified to allow either two or tree clocks. However, the current list has the ISP clock at the second position, which means the bindings expects a list of either bus and isp, or bus, isp and mod. The initial intent of the patch was obviously to have bus and mod in the former case. Let's fix the binding so that it validates properly. 2020-02-20dt-bindings: net: mdio: remove compatible string from exampleGrygorii Strashko1-1/+0
Remove vendor specific compatible string from example, otherwise DT YAML schemas validation may trigger warnings specific to TI ti,davinci_mdio and not to the generic MDIO example. For example, the "bus_freq" is required for davinci_mdio, but not required for generic mdio example.
