2021-12-11docs: ARC: Improve readabilityAlexey Brodkin1-29/+33
There were some things which made rendered document look not very elegant. That was because: 1. Numbered lists were formatted in more of Markdown way rather than true reStructuredText and so were displayed as a plain text with leading numbers. Well, moreover numbered lists were not needed as in all cases we were just listing a couple of options w/o any intention to follow any particular order, so a simpler unordered list fits better and looks cleaner. 2. URL's of external resources were added as they are (which is OK in a plain text, but make not much sense in a HTML where we may use more human-friendly link names with URL's hidden. 3. Some URL's had trailing slashes which were not really needed Fix all items from above! 2021-12-11docs: add support for RTD dark modeMauro Carvalho Chehab3-15/+53
This is actually an overlay on the top of the RTD theme, which requires to include first the RTD theme. It should be noticed that, when the dark theme is used, the DOCS_CSS files won't be the last CSS themes. So, it won't override the dark.css style by default. So, it is needed to force the them override with "!important". This small script, for instance, produces a nice output with the RTD dark theme: DOCS_THEME=sphinx_rtd_dark_mode cat << EOF > dark_override.css html body { font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; } html[data-theme='dark'] body { color: white !important; } html[data-theme='dark'] .sig-name { color: green !important; } html[data-theme='dark'] .wy-menu-vertical a { color: #ffcc00 !important; } html[data-theme="dark"] h1, html[data-theme="dark"] h2, html[data-theme="dark"] h3 { color: #ffcc00 !important; } html[data-theme="dark"] h4, html[data-theme="dark"] h5, html[data-theme="dark"] h6 { color: #ffcc00 !important; } html[data-theme="dark"] h7, html[data-theme="dark"] h8, html[data-theme="dark"] h9 { color: #ffcc00 !important; } html[data-theme="dark"] .wy-nav-content a, html[data-theme="dark"] .wy-nav-content a:visited { color: #ffcc00 !important; } EOF make DOCS_CSS=dark_override.css DOCS_THEME=sphinx_rtd_dark_mode htmldocs Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/90d316e055ef7f4c9021b9eada8f8d3b2e750a66.1638870323.git.mchehab+huawei@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>
2021-12-11docs: set format for the classic modeMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+30

2021-12-11docs: allow to pass extra DOCS_CSS themes via makeMauro Carvalho Chehab3-1/+17

2021-12-11docs: allow selecting a Sphinx themeMauro Carvalho Chehab3-22/+41
Instead of having RTD as an almost mandatory theme, allow the user to select other themes via DOCS_THEME environment var. There's a catch, though: as the current theme override logic is dependent of the RTD theme, we need to move the code which adds the CSS overrides to be inside the RTD theme logic. 2021-11-30docs: Add documentation for ARC processorsAlexey Brodkin4-0/+102
ARC processors are supported in upstream kernel since v3.9 and so far there was no documentation about them except some Device Tree bindings. Fixing it with the simples set of docs now: 1. Overview with pointers to other informational resources 2. Autogenerated feature table Note though it's just the very beginning, there will be more for sure given time as there're many things worth documenting and in fact even contents itself is avaialble but just spread in some other places. Now we'll try to keep all here and then maintain it looking forward to match the state of development. 2021-11-30docs: admin-guide/blockdev: Remove digraph of node-statesAkira Yokosawa2-7/+2
While node-states-8.dot has two digraphs, the dot(1) command can not properly handle multiple graphs in a DOT file and the kernel-doc page at https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/admin-guide/blockdev/drbd/figures.html fails to render the graphs. It turned out that the digraph of node_states can be removed. Quote from Joel's reflection: On reflection, the digraph node_states can be removed entirely. It is too basic to contain any useful information. In addition it references "ioctl_set_state". The ioctl configuration interface for DRBD has long been removed. In fact, it was never in the upstream version of DRBD. Remove node_states and rename the DOT file peer_states-8.dot. 2021-11-30docs: conf.py: fix support for Readthedocs v 1.0.0Mauro Carvalho Chehab1-5/+10
As described at: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23211695/modifying-content-width-of-the-sphinx-theme-read-the-docs since Sphinx 1.8, the standard way to setup a custom theme is to use html_css_files. While using html_context is OK with RTD 0.5.2, it doesn't work with 1.0.0, causing the theme to not load, producing a very weird html. Tested with: - Sphinx 1.7.9 + sphinx-rtd-theme 0.5.2 - Sphinx 2.4.4 + sphinx-rtd-theme 0.5.2 - Sphinx 2.4.4 + sphinx-rtd-theme 1.0.0 - Sphinx 4.3.0 + sphinx-rtd-theme 1.0.0 Reported-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Tested-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org> Tested-by: Akira Yokosawa <akiyks@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/80009f0d17ea0840d81e7e16fff6e7677919fdfc.1638004294.git.mchehab+huawei@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>
