The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit
unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to
move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned
(any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by
vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure.
There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on
install.
The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference:
- Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom)
- Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have
been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx)
- Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any
company (e.g. gemini, nspire)
The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few
makefile fixups.

When adding support for TI magadc (Magnetic Stripe Reader and ADC), the
MFD driver common to the touchscreen and the ADC got updated to ease the
insertion of a new DT node for the ADC, with its own compatible, clocks,
etc. Commit 235a96e92c16 ("mfd: ti_am335x_tscadc: Don't search the tree
for our clock") removed one compatible specific information which was
the clock name, because the clock was looked up from scratch in the DT
while this hardware block was only fed by a single clock, already
defined and properly filled in the DT.
Problem is, this change was only validated with an am437x-based board,
where the clocks are effectively correctly defined and referenced. But
on am33xx, the ADC clock is also correctly defined but is not referenced
with a clock phandle as it ought to be.
The touchscreen bindings clearly state that the clocks/clock-names
properties are mandatory, but they have been forgotten in one DTSI. This
was probably not noticed in the first place because of the clock
actually existing and the clk_get() call going through all the tree
anyway.
Add the missing clock phandles in the am33xx touchscreen description.

The PRUSS on AM335x SoCs has a MDIO sub-module that can be used
to control external PHYs associated with the Industrial Ethernet
peripherals within the PRUSS. The MDIO module used within the
PRU-ICSS is an instance of the MDIO Controller used in TI Davinci
SoCs. The same bus frequency of 1 MHz is chosen as the regular
MDIO node.
The node is added to the common am33xx-l4.dtsi file and is disabled.
This needs to be enabled in the respective board files using the
relevant AM335x SoCs supporting PRUSS and where the ethernet is
pinned out and connected properly.

Add the DT nodes for the PRU-ICSS on AM33xx family of SoCs. The AM33xx
SoCs contain a single PRU-ICSS instance and is represented by a pruss
node and other child nodes. PRU-ICSS is supported only on AM3356+ SoCs
though in the AM33xx family, so the nodes are added under the
corresponding disabled interconnect target module node in the common
am33xx-l4 dtsi file. The target module node should be enabled in only
those derivative board files that use a SoC containing PRU-ICSS.
The PRUSS subsystem node contains the entire address space. The various
sub-modules of the PRU-ICSS are represented as individual child nodes
(so platform devices themselves) of the PRUSS subsystem node. These
include the two PRU cores and the interrupt controller. All the Data
RAMs are represented within a child node of its own named 'memories'
without any compatible. The Real Time Media Independent Interface
controller (MII_RT), and the CFG sub-module are represented as syscon
nodes. The PRUSS CFG module has a clock mux for IEP clock, this clk
node is added under the CFG child node 'clocks'. The default source
for this mux clock is the PRU_ICSS_IEP_GCLK clock.
The DT nodes use all standard properties. The regs property in the PRU
nodes define the addresses for the Instruction RAM, the Debug and Control
sub-modules for that PRU core. The firmware for each PRU core is defined
through a 'firmware-name' property.
The default names for the firmware images for each PRU core are defined
as follows (these can be adjusted either in derivative board dts files
or through sysfs at runtime if required):
PRU-ICSS PRU0 Core: am335x-pru1_0-fw
PRU-ICSS PRU1 Core: am335x-pru1_1-fw
Note:
1. There are few more sub-modules like the Industrial Ethernet Peripheral
(IEP), MDIO, UART, eCAP that do not have bindings and so will be added
in the future.
2. The PRUSS INTC on AM335x SoCs also connect the host interrupts 0 to
TSC_ADC; 6 and 7 as possible DMA events, so use the 'ti,irqs-reserved'
property in derivative board dts files _if_ any of them should not be
handled by the host OS.

Alpine v3 is a 16-core Cortex-A72 SoC from Amazon's Annapurna Labs,
otherwise known as AL73400 or first-generation Graviton, and
following the already supported Cortex-A1`5 and Cortex-A57 based
Alpine chips. This one is added together with the official
Evaluation platform.
- Qualcomm:
The Snapdragon SDM630 platform is a family of mid-range mobile
phone chips from 2017 based on Cortex-A53 or Kryo 260 CPUs. A total
of five end-user products are added based on these, all Android
phones from Sony: Xperia 10, 10 Plus, XA2, XA2 Plus and XA2 Ultra.
- Renesas:
RZ/G2H (r8a774e1) is currently the top model in the Renesas RZ/G
family, and apparently closely related to the RZ/G2N and RZ/G2M
models we already support but has a faster GPU and additional
on-chip peripherals. It is added along with the HopeRun HiHope
RZ/G2H development board
A small number of new boards for already supported SoCs also debut:
- Allwinner sunxi:
Only one new machine, revision v1.2 of the Pine64 PinePhone
(non-Android) smartphone, containing minor changes compared to
earlier versions.
- Amlogic Meson:
WeTek Core2 is an Amlogic S912 (GXM) based Set-top-box
- Aspeed:
EthanolX is AMD's EPYC data center rerence platform, using an
ASpeed AST2600 baseboard management controller.
- Mediatek:
Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1" (kukui/krane) is a new Chromebook based
on the MT8183 (Helio P60t) SoC.
- Nvidia Tegra:
ASUS Google Nexus 7 and Acer Iconia Tab A500 are two Android
tablets from around 2012 using Tegra 3 and Tegra 2, respectively.
Thanks to PostmarketOS, these can now run mainline kernels and
become useful again.
The Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit uses a SoM and carrier board for
the Tegra194, their latest 64-bit chip based on Carmel CPU cores
and Volta graphics.
- NXP i.MX:
Five new boards based on the 32-bit i.MX6 series are added: The
MYiR MYS-6ULX single-board computer, and four different models of
industrial computers from Protonic.
- Qualcomm:
MikroTik RouterBoard 3011 is a rackmounted router based on the
32-bit IPQ8064 networking SoC
Three older phones get added, the Snapdragon 808 (msm8992) based
Xiaomi Libra (Mi 4C) and Microsoft Lumia 950, originally running
Windows Phone, and the Snapdragon 810 (msm8994) based Sony Xperia
Z5.
- Renesas:
In addition to the HiHope RZ/G2H board mentioned above, we gain
support for board versions 3.0 and 4.0 of the earlier RZ/G2M and
RZ/G2N reference boards. Beacon EmbeddedWorks adds another
SoM+Carrier development board for RZ/G2M.
- Rockchips:

Add gpio-ranges properties to the gpio controller nodes.
These gpio-ranges were created based on "Table 9-10. CONTROL_MODULE
REGISTERS" in the "AM335x Technical Reference Manual" [0] and "Table
4-2. Pin Attributes" in the "AM335x Sitara Processor datasheet" [1].
A csv file with this data is available for reference [2].
These mappings are valid for all SoC's that are using am33xx-l4.dtsi.
In addition, the only TI AM33xx parts that actually exist are [0]:
AM3351, AM3352, AM3354, AM3356, AM3357, AM3358, AM3359
These gpio-ranges properties should be added as they describe the
relationship between a gpio line and pin control register that exists
in the hardware. For example, GPMC_A0 pin has mode 7 which is labeled
gpio1_16. conf_gpmc_a0 register is at offset 840h which makes it pin 16.

Missed sdhci patch for am3 and am4
I forgot to send a pull request earlier for converting am3 and am4 to
use sdhci-omap driver instead of the old omap_hsmmc driver.
There was a display subsystem related suspend and resume regression found
recently and looks like I forgot to send a pull request for this patch
while debugging the regression. This patch has been tested without the
display subsystem, and has been in Linux next for several weeks now, so
would be good to have merged for v5.8.

We can now init system timers using the dmtimer and 32k counter
based on only devicetree data and drivers/clocksource timers.
Let's configure the clocksource and clockevent, and drop the old
unused platform data.
As we're just dropping platform data, and the early platform data
init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop
both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch.
Since the dmtimer can use both 32k clock and system clock as the
source, let's also configure the SoC specific default values. The
board specific dts files can reconfigure these with assigned-clocks
and assigned-clock-parents as needed.

Move mmc nodes to be compatible with the sdhci-omap driver. The following
modifications are required for omap_hsmmc specific properties:
ti,non-removable: convert to the generic mmc non-removable
ti,needs-special-reset: co-opted into the sdhci-omap driver
ti,dual-volt: removed. Legacy property not used in am335x or am43xx
ti,needs-special-hs-handling: removed. Legacy property not used in am335x
or am43xx
Also since the sdhci-omap driver does not support runtime PM, explicitly
disable the mmc3 instance in the dtsi.

The PRU-ICSS present on some AM33xx SoCs has a very unique SYSC
register. The IP also uses a hard-reset line, and requires this
PRCM reset to be deasserted to be able to access any registers.
Update the existing PRUSS interconnect target-module with all
the required properties.
The PRUSS device itself shall be added as a child node to this
interconnect node in the future. PRU-ICSS is not supported on
AM3351/AM3352/AM3354 SoCs though in the AM33xx family, so the
target module node should be disabled in derivative board files
that use any of these SoCs.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into arm/dt
Drop legacy platform data for omaps for v5.5
This series of changes continues dropping legacy platform data for
omaps. With the proper device tree configuration in place in the dts
files for ti-sysc interconnect target module driver, we can drop the
related platform data and legacy ti,hwmods custom property.
Most of the patches in this series drop platform data and custom dts
property one device class and one SoC at time. This way we can easily
revert one patch at a time in case of unexpected issues if the fix is
not trivial.
For am335x musb, we need to first update the device tree to probe with
ti-sysc interconnect target module driver. And then the following
patches drop the legacy platform data.
Note that this series depends on earlier ti-sysc related driver changes

We can now probe musb with ti-sysc interconnect driver and dts data
with the following changes:
1. Swap the old ti,am33xx-usb compatible wrapper to generic ti-sysc
driver. This means later on we can also remove the old wrapper driver
drivers/usb/musb/musb_am335x.c
2. Update the child nodes to use the ranges provided by ti-sysc
3. Drop unneeded status = "enabled" tinkering for SoC internal devices.
This allows us to remove some useless board specific boilerplate code
in the following patches
