2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring1-1072/+0
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. This also includes few cleanups around DTS which are here to avoid any merge conflicts. The Samsung pinctrl driver changes are backwards compatible. 2020-07-20ARM: dts: exynos: Disable frequency scaling for FSYS bus on Odroid XU3 familyMarek Szyprowski1-6/+0
Commit 1019fe2c7280 ("ARM: dts: exynos: Adjust bus related OPPs to the values correct for Exynos5422 Odroids") changed the parameters of the OPPs for the FSYS bus. Besides the frequency adjustments, it also removed the 'shared-opp' property from the OPP table used for FSYS_APB and FSYS busses. This revealed that in fact the FSYS bus frequency scaling never worked. When one OPP table is marked as 'opp-shared', only the first bus which selects the OPP sets the rate of its clock. Then OPP core assumes that the other busses have been changed to that OPP and no change to their clock rates are needed. Thus when FSYS_APB bus, which was registered first, set the rate for its clock, the OPP core did not change the FSYS bus clock later. The mentioned commit removed that behavior, what introduced a regression on some Odroid XU3 boards. Frequency scaling of the FSYS bus causes instability of the USB host operation, what can be observed as network hangs. To restore old behavior, simply disable frequency scaling for the FSYS bus. 2020-02-29ARM: dts: exynos: Fix G3D power domain supply on Odroid XU3/XU4/HC1 boardsMarek Szyprowski1-0/+1
G3D power domain in Exynos5422 SoC is supplied from VDD_G3D. Besides the main GPU MALI module it also contains the power domain control logic and clocks. Turning the VDD_G3D power supply off causes the power domain to fail to operate properly and breaks for example system suspend/resume. GPU should use VDD_G3D supply mainly to control the DVFS. Exynos5422 Odroids Hardkernel's Odroid XU3/XU4/HC1 boards use bootloader, which configures top PLLs to the following values: MPLL: 532MHz, CPLL: 666MHz and DPLL: 600MHz. Adjust all bus related OPPs to the values that are possible to derive from the top PLL configured by the bootloader. Also add a comment for each bus describing which PLL is used for it. The most significant change is the highest rate for wcore bus. It has been increased to 532MHz as this is the value configured initially by the bootloader. Also the voltage for this OPP is changed to match the value set by the bootloader. This patch finally allows the buses to operate on the rates matching the values set for each OPP and fixes the following warnings observed on boot: exynos-bus: new bus device registered: soc:bus_wcore ( 84000 KHz ~ 400000 KHz) exynos-bus: new bus device registered: soc:bus_noc ( 67000 KHz ~ 100000 KHz) exynos-bus: new bus device registered: soc:bus_fsys_apb (100000 KHz ~ 200000 KHz) ... exynos-bus soc:bus_wcore: dev_pm_opp_set_rate: failed to find current OPP for freq 532000000 (-34) exynos-bus soc:bus_noc: dev_pm_opp_set_rate: failed to find current OPP for freq 111000000 (-34) exynos-bus soc:bus_fsys_apb: dev_pm_opp_set_rate: failed to find current OPP for freq 222000000 (-34) The problem with setting incorrect (in some cases much lower) clock rate for the defined OPP were there from the beginning, but went unnoticed because the only way to observe it was to manually check the rate of the respective clocks. The commit 4294a779bd8d ("PM / devfreq: exynos-bus: Convert to use dev_pm_opp_set_rate()") finally revealed it, because it enabled use of the generic code from the OPP framework, which issues the above mentioned warnings. XU3 family The datasheet of S2MPS11 PMIC is slightly non-consistent in buck[78] voltage regulators values. 1. The voltage tables for configuring their registers mention range of voltages: 0.750 V to 3.55 V, 2. The constrains in electrical specifications say output voltage range to be different (buck7: 1.2 V to 1.5 V, buck8: 1.8 V to 2.1 V). Adjust the ranges to match the electrical specifications to stay on the safe side. Also change the name of regulators to match reality. 2019-03-01ARM: dts: exynos: Fix max voltage for buck8 regulator on Odroid XU3/XU4Marek Szyprowski1-1/+1
The maximum voltage value for buck8 regulator on Odroid XU3/XU4 boards is set too low. Increase it to the 2000mV as specified on the board schematic. So far the board worked fine, because of the bug in the PMIC driver, which used incorrect step value for that regulator. It interpreted the voltage value set by the bootloader as 1225mV and kept it unchanged. The regulator driver has been however fixed recently in the commit 56b5d4ea778c ("regulator: s2mps11: Fix steps for buck7, buck8 and LDO35"), what results in reading the proper buck8 value and forcing it to 1500mV on boot. This is not enough for proper board operation and results in eMMC errors during heavy IO traffic. Increasing maximum voltage value for buck8 restores original driver behavior and fixes eMMC issues. The LDO28 is used only on Odroid XU3 for Display Port. Define it so DTS will describe entire hardware. Depending on bootloader behavior this might affect the Display Port because none of drivers are enabling it. By default it is off in S2MPS11 PMIC reset values. However it could be enabled by bootloader so in such case kernel will later disable it as unused regulator. Odroid HC1 board is based on Odroid XU4 board, but it has no HDMI, no eMMC, no built-in USB3.0 hub, no extension port pins, and no GPIO button. USB3.0 ports are used for built-in JMicron USB to SATA bridge and Gigabit R8152 ethernet chips. HC1 uses only passive cooling.
