2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring1-277/+0
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. Drop the linux,usable-memory properties; the schema is unhappy about them: mmp2-olpc-xo-1-75.dt.yaml: /: memory: False schema does not allow {'linux,usable-memory': [[0, 528482304]], 'available': [[847872, 519245824, 4096, 782336]], 'reg': [[0, 536870912]], 'device_type': ['memory']} They've been cargo-culted from Open Firmware and I don't know what purpose they serve. Perhaps they are meant to provide the OFW runtime. In that case it's still okay to drop them from here; OFW is welcome to add it upon boot. The check_spi_bus_bridge() in scripts/dtc/checks.c requires that the node have "spi-slave" property must with "#address-cells = <0>" and "#size-cells = <0>". But currently both "#address-cells" and "#size-cells" properties are deleted, the corresponding default values are 2 and 1. 2020-07-22ARM: dts: mmp2-olpc-xo-1-75: Delete #address-cells from ssp3Lubomir Rintel1-1/+2
On the XO-1.75, this node represents a bus interface that operates in slave mode and thus is only able to accommodate a single subnode; no address cells are necessary. The Documentation/devicetree/bindings/spi/spi-controller.yaml binding prefers that we drop the property instead of setting it to zero. 2019-09-07ARM: dts: mmp2: add OLPC XO 1.75 machineLubomir Rintel1-0/+244
This is a fairly complete description of an OLPC XO 1.75 laptop. What's missing for now is the GPU, LCD controller, DCON, the panel and audio. The machine is booted with OpenFirmware and thus has a devicetree. However, older versions are unable to create a valid FDT and don't follow the Linux bindings. Having an device tree in the kernel tree makes it easier to use mainline kernels on such machines, test changes with CONFIG_ARM_APPENDED_DTB and give a good reference on what bindings are used on the machine without an access to one.
