On revisions of the PL310 prior to r3p2, the Store Buffer does not automatically drain. This can cause normal, non-cacheable writes to be retained when the memory system is idle, leading to suboptimal I/O performance for drivers using coherent DMA. This patch adds an optional wmb() call to the cpu_idle loop. On systems with an outer cache, this causes an explicit flush of the store buffer. To configure pads during the initialisation a set of special constants is used, e.g. #define MX25_PAD_FEC_MDIO__FEC_MDIO IOMUX_PAD(0x3c4, 0x1cc, 0x10, 0, 0, PAD_CTL_HYS | PAD_CTL_PUS_22K_UP) The problem is that no pull-up/down is getting activated unless both PAD_CTL_PUE (pull-up enable) and PAD_CTL_PKE (pull/keeper module enable) set. This is clearly stated in the i.MX25 datasheet and is confirmed by the measurements on hardware. This leads to some rather hard to understand bugs such as misdetecting an absent ethernet PHY (a real bug i had), unstable data transfer etc. This might affect mx25, mx35, mx50, mx51 and mx53 SoCs. It's reasonable to expect that if the pullup value is specified, the intention was to have it actually active, so we implicitly add the needed bits. 2012-08-17ARM: davinci: da850 EVM: read mac address from SPI flashRajashekhara, Sudhakar1-0/+28
commit 810198bc9c109489dfadc57131c5183ce6ad2d7d upstream. DA850/OMAP-L138 EMAC driver uses random mac address instead of a fixed one because the mac address is not stuffed into EMAC platform data. This patch provides a function which reads the mac address stored in SPI flash (registered as MTD device) and populates the EMAC platform data. The function which reads the mac address is registered as a callback which gets called upon addition of MTD device. NOTE: In case the MAC address stored in SPI flash is erased, follow the instructions at [1] to restore it. The find_next_bit, find_first_bit, find_next_zero_bit and find_first_zero_bit functions were not properly clamping to the maxbit argument at the bit level. They were instead only checking maxbit at the byte level. To fix this, add a compare and a conditional move instruction to the end of the common bit-within-the- byte code used by all the functions and be sure not to clobber the maxbit argument before it is used. Commit 8b592783 added a Thumb-2 variant of usracc which, when it is called with \rept=2, calls usraccoff once with an offset of 0 and secondly with a hard-coded offset of 4 in order to avoid incrementing the pointer again. If \inc != 4 then we will store the data to the wrong offset from \ptr. Luckily, the only caller that passes \rept=2 to this function is __clear_user so we haven't been actively corrupting user data. This patch fixes usracc to pass \inc instead of #4 to usraccoff when it is called a second time. 2011-01-07arm: fix really nasty sigreturn bugAl Viro1-0/+2

If a signal hits us outside of a syscall and another gets delivered when we are in sigreturn (e.g. because it had been in sa_mask for the first one and got sent to us while we'd been in the first handler), we have a chance of returning from the second handler to location one insn prior to where we ought to return. If r0 happens to contain -513 (-ERESTARTNOINTR), sigreturn will get confused into doing restart syscall song and dance. Incredible joy to debug, since it manifests as random, infrequent and very hard to reproduce double execution of instructions in userland code... The fix is simple - mark it "don't bother with restarts" in wrapper, i.e. set r8 to 0 in sys_sigreturn and sys_rt_sigreturn wrappers, suppressing the syscall restart handling on return from these guys. They can't legitimately return a restart-worthy error anyway. On versions of the Cortex-A9 prior to r2p0, performing TLB invalidations by ASID match can result in the incorrect ASID being broadcast to other CPUs. As a consequence of this, the targetted TLB entries are not invalidated across the system. This workaround changes the TLB flushing routines to invalidate entries regardless of the ASID. The rest of the test is optimised away. This patch adds suitable memory constraints to the atomic operations on ARM to ensure that the compiler is informed of the correct data hazards. We have to use the "Qo" constraints to avoid hitting the GCC anomaly described at http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=44492 , where the compiler makes assumptions about the writeback in the addressing mode used by the inline assembly. These constraints forbid the use of auto{inc,dec} addressing modes, so it doesn't matter if we don't use the operand exactly once. 2010-08-02ARM: 6211/1: atomic ops: fix register constraints for atomic64_add_unlessWill Deacon1-1/+1

The atomic64_add_unless function compares an atomic variable with a given value and, if they are not equal, adds another given value to the atomic variable. The function returns zero if the addition did not occur and non-zero otherwise. On ARM, the return value is initialised to 1 in C code. Inline assembly code then performs the atomic64_add_unless operation, setting the return value to 0 iff the addition does not occur. This means that when the addition *does* occur, the value of ret must be preserved across the inline assembly and therefore requires a "+r" constraint rather than the current one of "=&r". commit 3fea60261e73dbf4a51130d40cafcc8465b0f2c3 upstream. The Nokia RX51 board code (arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-rx51-peripherals.c) defines a key map for the matrix keypad keyboard. The hardware seems to use all of the 8 rows and 8 columns of the keypad, although not all possible locations are used. The TWL4030 supports keypads with at most 8 rows and 8 columns. Most keys are defined with a row and column number between 0 and 7, except KEY(0xff, 2, KEY_F9), KEY(0xff, 4, KEY_F10), KEY(0xff, 5, KEY_F11), which represent keycodes that should be emitted when entire row is connected to the ground. since the driver handles this case as if we had an extra column in the key matrix. Unfortunately we do not allocate enough space and end up owerwriting some random memory. Hardware performance counters on ARM are 32-bits wide but atomic64_t variables are used to represent counter data in the hw_perf_event structure. The armpmu_event_update function right-shifts a signed 64-bit delta variable and adds the result to the event count. This can lead to shifting in sign-bits if the MSB of the 32-bit counter value is set. This fixes two bugs: 1) This function called sa1111_wake() which tried to claim the same spinlock the sa1111_resume() already claimed. This would result in certain deadlock. When functions incoming parameters are not in input operands list gcc 4.5 does not load the parameters into registers before calling this function but the inline assembly assumes valid addresses inside this function. This breaks the code because r0 and r1 are invalid when execution enters v4wb_copy_user_page () Also the constant needs to be used as third input operand so account for that as well. The Snoop Control Unit on the ARM11MPCore hardware does not detect the cache operations and the dma_cache_maint*() functions may leave stale cache entries on other CPUs. The solution implemented in this patch performs a Read or Write For Ownership in the ARMv6 DMA cache maintenance functions. These LDR/STR instructions change the cache line state to shared or exclusive so that the cache maintenance operation has the desired effect. Tested-by: George G.
