2020-07-29powerpc/kexec_file: Mark PPC64 specific codeHari Bathini1-117/+0
Some of the kexec_file_load code isn't PPC64 specific. Move PPC64 specific code from kexec/file_load.c to kexec/file_load_64.c. Also, rename purgatory/trampoline.S to purgatory/trampoline_64.S in the same spirit. No functional changes. 2018-07-30powerpc: move ASM_CONST and stringify_in_c() into asm-const.hChristophe Leroy1-9/+1
This patch moves ASM_CONST() and stringify_in_c() into dedicated asm-const.h, then cleans all related inclusions. Signed-off-by: Christophe Leroy <christophe.leroy@c-s.fr> [mpe: asm-compat.h should include asm-const.h] Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-31powerpc/asm: Convert .llong directives to .8byteTobin C. Harding1-2/+2
.llong is an undocumented PPC specific directive. The generic equivalent is .quad, but even better (because it's self describing) is .8byte. Convert all .llong directives to .8byte. Signed-off-by: Tobin C. Harding <me@tobin.cc> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-10powerpc: Fix invalid use of register expressionsAndreas Schwab1-1/+1
binutils >= 2.26 now warns about misuse of register expressions in assembler operands that are actually literals, for example: arch/powerpc/kernel/entry_64.S:535: Warning: invalid register expression In practice these are almost all uses of r0 that should just be a literal 0. Signed-off-by: Andreas Schwab <schwab@linux-m68k.org> [mpe: Mention r0 is almost always the culprit, fold in purgatory change] Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-03-10kexec, x86/purgatory: Unbreak it and clean it upThomas Gleixner1-6/+6
The purgatory code defines global variables which are referenced via a symbol lookup in the kexec code (core and arch). A recent commit addressing sparse warnings made these static and thereby broke kexec_file. Why did this happen? Simply because the whole machinery is undocumented and lacks any form of forward declarations. The variable names are unspecific and lack a prefix, so adding forward declarations creates shadow variables in the core code. Aside of that the code relies on magic constants and duplicate struct definitions with no way to ensure that these things stay in sync. The section placement of the purgatory variables happened by chance and not by design. Unbreak kexec and cleanup the mess: - Add proper forward declarations and document the usage - Use common struct definition - Use the proper common defines instead of magic constants - Add a purgatory_ prefix to have a proper name space - Use ARRAY_SIZE() instead of a homebrewn reimplementation - Add proper sections to the purgatory variables [ From Mike ] Fixes: 72042a8c7b01 ("x86/purgatory: Make functions and variables static") Reported-by: Mike Galbraith <<efault@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Cc: Nicholas Mc Guire <der.herr@hofr.at> Cc: Borislav Petkov <bp@alien8.de> Cc: Vivek Goyal <vgoyal@redhat.com> Cc: "Tobin C.
