Therefore, error messages emitted during disassembly should be ignored or handled in a way such that the disassembler can continue to parse the AML. This change ignores AE_ALREADY_EXISTS errors during the deferred Op parsing for create operators in order to complete parsing ASL termlists. 2019-12-20ACPICA: Disassembler: create buffer fields in ACPI_PARSE_LOAD_PASS1Erik Kaneda1-1/+1
ACPICA commit 29cc8dbc5463a93625bed87d7550a8bed8913bf4 create_buffer_field is a deferred op that is typically processed in load pass 2. However, disassembly of control method contents walk the parse tree with ACPI_PARSE_LOAD_PASS1 and AML_CREATE operators are processed in a later walk. This is a problem when there is a control method that has the same name as the AML_CREATE object. In this case, any use of the name segment will be detected as a method call rather than a reference to a buffer field. If this is detected as a method call, it can result in a mal-formed parse tree if the control methods have parameters. This change in processing AML_CREATE ops earlier solves this issue by inserting the named object in the ACPI namespace so that references to this name would be detected as a name string rather than a method call. 2019-10-29ACPICA: acpiexec: initialize all simple types and field units from user inputErik Schmauss1-6/+3
ACPICA commit 367b363edc5fa1f93bbc14e4a1e05f34fef765a2 acpiexec allows a user to provide a file that indicates values to initialize named objects during table load with the -fi option. This can provide more accurate simulation by setting named objects to values found during OS runtime. Previously, this option only supported integer objects. This change adds user initialization support for field units, strings, buffers, and packages. 2019-02-24ACPICA: ACPI 6.3: add PCC operation region support for AML interpreterErik Schmauss1-0/+7
ACPICA commit a4849944e80f97970e99843f4975850753584a4e This change adds PCC operation region support in the AML interpreter and a default handler for acpiexec. According to the specification, the PCC operation region performs a transaction when the COMD field is written. This allows ASL to write data to other fields before sending the data. In order to accommodate this protocol, a temorary buffer is added to the regionfield object to accumulate writes. If any offset that spans COMD is written, the temporary buffer is sent to the PCC operation region handler to be processed. This change also renames the PCC keyword to platform_comm_channel. 2018-08-15ACPICA: acpi_exec: fixing -fi optionErik Schmauss1-1/+34
Field elements listed in the init file used to be initialized after the table load and before executing module-level code blocks. The recent changes in module-level code mean that the table load becomes a method execution. If fields are used within module-level code and we are executing with -fi option, then these values are populated after the table has finished loading. This commit changes the initialization of objects listed in the init file so that field unit values are populated during the table load. 2016-01-01ACPICA: Linuxize: reduce divergences for 20151218 releaseLv Zheng1-4/+4
The patch reduces source code differences between the Linux kernel and the ACPICA upstream so that the linuxized ACPICA 20151218 release can be applied with reduced human intervention. The pscode.c has already been out of sync for months, and it becomes more and more difficult to merge pscode.c changes, so instead of update the affected lines of pscode.c, this patch synchronizes entire pscode.c file. 2014-09-25ACPICA: Update to GPIO region handler interface.Bob Moore1-0/+2
Changes to correct several GPIO issues: 1) The update_rule in a GPIO field definition is now ignored; a read-modify-write operation is never performed for GPIO fields. (Internally, this means that the field assembly/disassembly code is completely bypassed for GPIO.) 2) The Address parameter passed to a GPIO region handler is now the bit offset of the field from a previous Connection() operator. Thus, it becomes a "Pin Number Index" into the Connection() resource descriptor. 3) The bit_width parameter passed to a GPIO region handler is now the exact bit width of the GPIO field. Thus, it can be interpreted as "number of pins". Overall, we can now say that the region handler interface to GPIO handlers is a raw "bit/pin" addressed interface, not a byte-addressed interface like the system_memory handler interface. 2014-01-08ACPICA: Disassembler: Improve pathname support for emitted External() ↵Bob Moore1-1/+1
statements. This change adds full pathname support for external names that have been resolved internally by the inclusion of additional ACPI tables (via the iASL -e option). Without this change, the disassembler can emit multiple externals for the same object, or it become confused when the Scope() operator is used on an external object. Linux kernel behaviour is not affected as the structure changes and the new invocations are only used by compiler and disassembler which are not shipped in the kernel currently. 2010-01-22ACPICA: Remove obsolete ACPI_INTEGER (acpi_integer) typeBob Moore1-5/+5
This type was introduced as the code was migrated from ACPI 1.0 (with 32-bit AML integers) to ACPI 2.0 (with 64-bit integers). It is now obsolete and this change removes it from the ACPICA code base, replaced by u64. The original typedef has been retained for now for compatibility with existing device driver code.
