2020-06-09mm: reorder includes after introduction of linux/pgtable.hMike Rapoport1-1/+1
The replacement of <asm/pgrable.h> with <linux/pgtable.h> made the include of the latter in the middle of asm includes. 2018-06-13treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()Kees Cook1-1/+2
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The Coccinelle script used for this was: // Fix redundant parens around sizeof(). @@ type TYPE; expression THING, E; @@ ( kzalloc( - (sizeof(TYPE)) * E + sizeof(TYPE) * E , ...) | kzalloc( - (sizeof(THING)) * E + sizeof(THING) * E , ...) ) // Drop single-byte sizes and redundant parens. @@ expression COUNT; 2011-05-18drivercore: revert addition of of_match to struct deviceGrant Likely1-2/+5
Commit b826291c, "drivercore/dt: add a match table pointer to struct device" added an of_match pointer to struct device to cache the of_match_table entry discovered at driver match time. This was unsafe because matching is not an atomic operation with probing a driver. If two or more drivers are attempted to be matched to a driver at the same time, then the cached matching entry pointer could get overwritten. This patch reverts the of_match cache pointer and reworks all users to call of_match_device() directly instead. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>

2010-12-11atm: correct sysfs 'device' link creation and parent relationshipsDan Williams1-7/+7
The ATM subsystem was incorrectly creating the 'device' link for ATM nodes in sysfs. This led to incorrect device/parent relationships exposed by sysfs and udev. Instead of rolling the 'device' link by hand in the generic ATM code, pass each ATM driver's bus device down to the sysfs code and let sysfs do this stuff correctly. 2010-11-18atm: fore200e: Fix build warning.David S. Miller1-1/+1
GCC (rightfully) complains that: drivers/atm/fore200e.c:614:5: warning: operation on 'cmdq->head' may be undefined This is due to the FORE200E_NEXT_ENTRY macro, which essentially evaluates to: i = ++i % m Make it what's explicitly intended here which is: i = (i + 1) % m and the warning goes away. 2010-08-06of/device: Replace struct of_device with struct platform_deviceGrant Likely1-13/+13
of_device is just an alias for platform_device, so remove it entirely. Also replace to_of_device() with to_platform_device() and update comment blocks. This patch was initially generated from the following semantic patch, and then edited by hand to pick up the bits that coccinelle didn't catch. @@ @@ -struct of_device +struct platform_device Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Reviewed-by: David S. 2010-07-24of/platform: remove all of_bus_type and of_platform_bus_type referencesGrant Likely1-3/+3
Both of_bus_type and of_platform_bus_type are just #define aliases for the platform bus. This patch removes all references to them and switches to the of_register_platform_driver()/of_unregister_platform_driver() API for registering. Subsequent patches will convert each user of of_register_platform_driver() into plain platform_drivers without the of_platform_driver shim. At which point the of_register_platform_driver()/of_unregister_platform_driver() functions can be removed. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: David S. 2010-06-28sparc/of: Move of_device fields into struct pdev_archdataGrant Likely1-1/+1
This patch moves SPARC architecture specific data members out of struct of_device and into the pdev_archdata structure. The reason for this change is to unify the struct of_device definition amongst all the architectures. It also remvoes the .sysdata, .slot, .portid and .clock_freq properties because they aren't actually used by anything. A subsequent patch will replace struct of_device entirely with struct platform_device and the of_platform support code will share common routines with the platform bus (but the bus instances themselves can remain separate). This patch also adds 'struct resources *resource' and num_resources to match the fields defined in struct platform_device. After this change, 'struct platform_device' can be used as a drop-in replacement for 'struct of_platform'. This change is in preparation for merging the of_platform_bus_type with the platform_bus_type. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: David S. 2010-05-22of: Remove duplicate fields from of_platform_driverGrant Likely1-2/+5
.name, .match_table and .owner are duplicated in both of_platform_driver and device_driver. This patch is a removes the extra copies from struct of_platform_driver and converts all users to the device_driver members. This patch is a pretty mechanical change. The usage model doesn't change and if any drivers have been missed, or if anything has been fixed up incorrectly, then it will fail with a compile time error, and the fixup will be trivial. This patch looks big and scary because it touches so many files, but it should be pretty safe.
