2023-08-03gpio: zevio: remove unneeded call to platform_set_drvdata()Andrei Coardos1-2/+0
This function call was found to be unnecessary as there is no equivalent platform_get_drvdata() call to access the private data of the driver. Also, the private data is defined in this driver, so there is no risk of it being accessed outside of this driver file. 2023-01-30gpio: zevio: Add missing headerAndy Shevchenko1-0/+1
The commit 899f6a9c4364 ("gpio: zevio: Use proper headers and drop OF_GPIO dependency") missed one header this driver depends on. Add it. Fixes: 899f6a9c4364 ("gpio: zevio: Use proper headers and drop OF_GPIO dependency") Reported-by: kernel test robot <lkp@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bartosz.golaszewski@linaro.org>
2023-01-30gpio: zevio: Use proper headers and drop OF_GPIO dependencyAndy Shevchenko1-3/+4
The driver doesn't depend on the OF_GPIO to be compiled. Hence the proper header to use is mod_devicetable.h. Replace of*.h with the above mentioned and drop redundant dependency. 2023-01-30gpio: zevio: Remove duplicate assignment of of_gpio_n_cellsAndy Shevchenko1-1/+0
The of_gpio_n_cells default is 2 when ->of_xlate() callback is not defined. No need to assign it explicitly in the driver. Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bartosz Golaszewski <bartosz.golaszewski@linaro.org>

2016-05-11gpio: zevio: make it explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker1-18/+3
The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is: drivers/gpio/Kconfig:config GPIO_ZEVIO drivers/gpio/Kconfig: bool "LSI ZEVIO SoC memory mapped GPIOs" ...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. We explicitly disallow a driver unbind, since that doesn't have a sensible use case anyway, and it allows us to drop the ".remove" code for non-modular drivers. Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information is already contained at the top of the file in the comments. 2015-11-19gpio: change member .dev to .parentLinus Walleij1-2/+2
The name .dev in a struct is normally reserved for a struct device that is let us say a superclass to the thing described by the struct. struct gpio_chip stands out by confusingly using a struct device *dev to point to the parent device (such as a platform_device) that represents the hardware. As we want to give gpio_chip:s real devices, this is not working. We need to rename this member to parent. This was done by two coccinelle scripts, I guess it is possible to combine them into one, but I don't know such stuff. They look like this: @@ struct gpio_chip *var; @@ -var->dev +var->parent and: @@ struct gpio_chip var; @@ -var.dev +var.parent and: @@ struct bgpio_chip *var; @@ -var->gc.dev +var->gc.parent Plus a few instances of bgpio that I couldn't figure out how to teach Coccinelle to rewrite. This patch hits all over the place, but I *strongly* prefer this solution to any piecemal approaches that just exercise patch mechanics all over the place. It mainly hits drivers/gpio and drivers/pinctrl which is my own backyard anyway.
