2021-01-06drm/bochs: Remove references to struct drm_device.pdevThomas Zimmermann1-2/+2
Using struct drm_device.pdev is deprecated. Convert bochs to struct drm_device.dev. No functional changes. 2020-03-13drm/bochs: downgrade pci_request_region failure from error to warningGerd Hoffmann1-4/+2
Shutdown of firmware framebuffer has a bunch of problems. Because of this the framebuffer region might still be reserved even after drm_fb_helper_remove_conflicting_pci_framebuffers() returned. Don't consider pci_request_region() failure for the framebuffer region as fatal error to workaround this issue. 2020-02-12drm/bochs: add drm_driver.release callback.Gerd Hoffmann1-1/+23
Call bochs_unload via drm_driver.release to make sure we release stuff when it is safe to do so. Use drm_dev_{enter,exit,unplug} to avoid touching hardware after device removal. Tidy up here and there. v4: add changelog. v3: use drm_dev_*(). v2: move hardware deinit to pci_remove(). 2019-07-15drm/bochs: drop use of drmP.hSam Ravnborg1-0/+4
Drop use of the deprecated drmP.h header file. Made bochs.h self-contained and then fixed fallout in remaining files. Several unused includes was dropped in the process. 2019-06-28drm/bochs: fix framebuffer setup.Gerd Hoffmann1-4/+10
The driver doesn't consider framebuffer pitch and offset, leading to a wrong display in case offset != 0 or pitch != width * bpp. Fix it. 2018-10-30drm/bochs: add edid support.Gerd Hoffmann1-0/+30
Recent qemu (latest master branch, upcoming 3.1 release) got support for EDID data. This patch adds guest driver support. EDID support in qemu is not (yet) enabled by default, so please use 'qemu -device VGA,edid=on' for testing. 2014-11-20bochs: add endian switching supportGerd Hoffmann1-1/+19
Recently (qemu 2.2+) the qemu stdvga got a register to switch the vga framebuffer endianness. This patch adds code to explicitly set the endianness of the framebuffer. In most cases this has no effect as the default is guest architecture endianness. It is needed though in case a architecture supports both big and little endian, i.e. for ppc64le. 2013-12-23drm/bochs: new driverGerd Hoffmann1-0/+177
DRM driver for (virtual) vga cards using the bochs dispi interface, such as the qemu standard vga (qemu -vga std). Don't bother supporting anything but 32bpp for now, even though the virtual hardware is able to do that. Known issue: mmap(/dev/fb0) doesn't work.
