DP 1.4a Section 2.8.7.1.5.6.1: A DP Source device shall retry at least seven times upon receiving AUX_DEFER before giving up the AUX transaction. The drm_dp_i2c_do_msg() function in the drm_dp_helper.c file will judge the status of the msg->reply parameter passed to aux_transfer for different processing. 2023-03-22drm/mediatek: Modify mediatek-drm for mt8195 multi mmsys supportNancy.Lin4-88/+245
MT8195 have two mmsys. Modify drm for MT8195 multi-mmsys support. The two mmsys (vdosys0 and vdosys1) will bring up two drm drivers, only one drm driver register as the drm device. Each drm driver binds its own component. The last bind drm driver allocates and registers the drm device to drm core. Each crtc path is created with the corresponding drm driver data. 2023-03-12drm/mediatek: dp: Only trigger DRM HPD events if bridge is attachedChen-Yu Tsai1-1/+2
The MediaTek DisplayPort interface bridge driver starts its interrupts as soon as its probed. However when the interrupts trigger the bridge might not have been attached to a DRM device. As drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() does not check whether the passed in drm_device is valid or not, a NULL pointer passed in results in a kernel NULL pointer dereference in it. Check whether the bridge is attached and only trigger an HPD event if it is. Modify the overlay driver data for MT8195 to enable bit depth control and enable support for AR30 and BA30 framebuffer formats. This patch in combination with the previous two patches in the series will allow MT8195 devices to scanout AR30 and BA30 framebuffers. Tested using "modetest -P" on an MT8195 device. 2023-03-12drm/mediatek: Add support for AR30 and BA30 overlaysJustin Green1-0/+33
Add the ability for the Mediatek DRM driver to control the bit depth register. If the DTS indicates the device supports 10-bit overlays and the current format has a fourcc of AR30, BA30, or RA30, we set the bit depth register to 10 bit. The next patch in the series actually enables 10-bit overlays for MT8195 devices, but this current patch should be a no-op. 2022-11-14drm/mediatek: Fix return type of mtk_hdmi_bridge_mode_valid()Nathan Chancellor1-3/+4
With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which reveals: drivers/gpu/drm/mediatek/mtk_hdmi.c:1407:16: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'enum drm_mode_status (*)(struct drm_bridge *, const struct drm_display_info *, const struct drm_display_mode *)' with an expression of type 'int (struct drm_bridge *, const struct drm_display_info *, const struct drm_display_mode *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict] .mode_valid = mtk_hdmi_bridge_mode_valid, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 error generated. ->mode_valid() in 'struct drm_bridge_funcs' expects a return type of 'enum drm_mode_status', not 'int'. Adjust the return type of mtk_hdmi_bridge_mode_valid() to match the prototype's to resolve the warning and CFI failure. 2022-09-22drm/mediatek: dsi: Move mtk_dsi_stop() call back to mtk_dsi_poweroff()Nícolas F. R. A. Prado1-11/+10
As the comment right before the mtk_dsi_stop() call advises, mtk_dsi_stop() should only be called after mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable(). That's because that function calls drm_crtc_wait_one_vblank(), which requires the vblank irq to be enabled. Previously mtk_dsi_stop(), being in mtk_dsi_poweroff() and guarded by a refcount, would only be called at the end of mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable(), through the call to mtk_crtc_ddp_hw_fini(). Commit cde7e2e35c28 ("drm/mediatek: Separate poweron/poweroff from enable/disable and define new funcs") moved the mtk_dsi_stop() call to mtk_output_dsi_disable(), causing it to be called before mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable(), and consequently generating vblank timeout warnings during suspend. Move the mtk_dsi_stop() call back to mtk_dsi_poweroff() so that we have a working vblank irq during mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable() and stop getting vblank timeout warnings.
