[ Upstream commit 06267d22f9ee6fd34150b6dcdb2fa6983e1a85bc ] When the topology calls for two interfaces on the current fixed topology of 2 DSC blocks, or uses 1 DSC block for a single interface (e.g. SC7280 with only one DSC block), there should be no merging of DSC output. This is already represented by the return value of dpu_encoder_use_dsc_merge(), but not yet used to correctly configure this flag. [ Upstream commit 2f4a67a3894e15c135125cb54edc5b43abc1b70e ] Currently INTF_CFG2_DATA_HCTL_EN is coupled with the enablement of widebus but this is incorrect because we should be enabling this bit independent of widebus except for cases where compression is enabled in one pixel per clock mode. Fix this by making the condition checks more explicit and enabling INTF_CFG2_DATA_HCTL_EN for all other cases when supported by DPU. The brute force iommu_flush_iotlb_all() was good enough for unmap, but in some cases a map operation could require removing a table pte entry to replace with a block entry. This also requires tlb invalidation. Missing this was resulting an obscure iova fault on what should be a valid buffer address. Lets fix the other conditional block by making sure hw_pp is valid before dereferencing it. [ Upstream commit fcccdafd91f8bdde568b86ff70848cf83f029add ] MSA MISC0 bit 1 to 7 contains Colorimetry Indicator Field. dp_link_get_colorimetry_config() returns wrong colorimetry value in the DP_TEST_DYNAMIC_RANGE_CEA case in the current implementation. Hence fix this problem by having dp_link_get_colorimetry_config() return defined CEA RGB colorimetry value in the case of DP_TEST_DYNAMIC_RANGE_CEA. [ Upstream commit a251c9d8e30833b260101edb9383b176ee2b7cb1 ] The DP CTS test for EDID last block checksum expects the checksum for the last block, invalid or not. Skip the validity check. For the most part (*), the EDIDs returned by drm_get_edid() will be valid anyway, and there's the CTS workaround to get the checksum for completely invalid EDIDs. See commit 7948fe12d47a ("drm/msm/dp: return correct edid checksum after corrupted edid checksum read"). This lets us remove one user of drm_edid_block_valid() with hopes the function can be removed altogether in the future. (*) drm_get_edid() ignores checksum errors on CTA extensions. 2023-11-20drm/msm/dsi: free TX buffer in unbindDmitry Baryshkov3-6/+11
[ Upstream commit 5e05be78264594634860087953649487f486ffcc ] If the drm/msm init code gets an error during output modeset initialisation, the kernel will report an error regarding DRM memory manager not being clean during shutdown. This is because msm_dsi_modeset_init() allocates a piece of GEM memory for the TX buffer, but destruction of the buffer happens only at msm_dsi_host_destroy(), which is called during DSI driver's remove() time, much later than the DRM MM shutdown. To solve this issue, move the TX buffer destruction to dsi_unbind(), so that the buffer is destructed at the correct time. Note, we also have to store a reference to the address space, because priv->kms->aspace is cleared before components are unbound. [ Upstream commit ab483e3adcc178254eb1ce0fbdfbea65f86f1006 ] dsi_wait4video_done() API waits for the DSI video mode engine to become idle so that we can transmit the DCS commands in the beginning of BLLP. However, with the current sequence, the MDP timing engine is turned on after the panel's pre_enable() callback which can send out the DCS commands needed to power up the panel. During those cases, this API will always timeout and print out the error spam leading to long bootup times and log flooding. 2023-10-20drm/msm/dp: do not reinitialize phy unless retry during link trainingKuogee Hsieh1-7/+6
[ Upstream commit 0c1a2e69bcb506f48ebf94bd199bab0b93f66da2 ] DP PHY re-initialization done using dp_ctrl_reinitialize_mainlink() will cause PLL unlocked initially and then PLL gets locked at the end of initialization. PLL_UNLOCKED interrupt will fire during this time if the interrupt mask is enabled. However currently DP driver link training implementation incorrectly re-initializes PHY unconditionally during link training as the PHY was already configured in dp_ctrl_enable_mainlink_clocks(). Fix this by re-initializing the PHY only if the previous link training failed. Instead, these values should be calculated using slice per packet, which is not the same as slice_count. Slice count represents the number of slices per interface, and its value will not always match that of slice per packet. For example, it is possible to have cases where there are multiple slices per interface but the panel specifies only one slice per packet. Thus, use the default value of one slice per packet and remove slice_count from the aforementioned calculations. [ Upstream commit bc6b6ff8135c4b96787eda88f3baf653939a75ce ] According to downstream the value to use for WORD_COUNT is bytes_per_pkt, which denotes the number of bytes in a packet based on how many slices have been configured by the panel driver times the width of a slice times the number of bytes per pixel. The DSC panels seen thus far use one byte per pixel, only one slice per packet, and a slice width of half the panel width leading to the desired bytes_per_pkt+1 value to be equal to hdisplay/2+1. This however isn't the case anymore for panels that configure two slices per packet, where the value should now be hdisplay+1. Note that the aforementioned panel (on a Sony Xperia XZ3, sdm845) with slice_count=1 has also been tested to successfully accept slice_count=2, which would have shown corrupted output previously. [ Upstream commit 1e0a97f84d73ea1182740f62069690c7f3271abb ] If the dispcc uses CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE (e.g. on QCM2290), CCF can try enabling VCO before the rate has been programmed. This can cause clock lockups and/or other boot issues. Program the VCO to the minimal PLL rate if the read rate is 0 Hz. 2023-05-24drm/msm/dp: unregister audio driver during unbindSrinivas Kandagatla3-0/+15
[ Upstream commit 85c636284cb63b7740b4ae98881ace92158068d3 ] while binding the code always registers a audio driver, however there is no corresponding unregistration done in unbind. This leads to multiple redundant audio platform devices if dp_display_bind and dp_display_unbind happens multiple times during startup. On X13s platform this resulted in 6 to 9 audio codec device instead of just 3 codec devices for 3 dp ports. Fix this by unregistering codecs on unbind.
