2022-11-24drm/connector: Rename drm_mode_create_tv_propertiesMaxime Ripard1-1/+1
drm_mode_create_tv_properties(), among other things, will create the "mode" property that stores the analog TV mode that connector is supposed to output. However, that property is getting deprecated, so let's rename that function to mention it's deprecated. We'll introduce a new variant of that function creating the property superseeding it in a later patch. 2022-11-24drm/connector: Rename legacy TV propertyMaxime Ripard1-2/+2
The current tv_mode has driver-specific values that don't allow to easily share code using it, either at the userspace or kernel level. Since we're going to introduce a new, generic, property that fit the same purpose, let's rename this one to legacy_tv_mode to make it obvious we should move away from it. 2020-09-01drm/nouveau/kms: Search for encoders' connectors properlyLyude Paul1-1/+1
While the way we find the associated connector for an encoder is just fine for legacy modesetting, it's not correct for nv50+ since that uses atomic modesetting. For reference, see the drm_encoder kdocs. Fix this by removing nouveau_encoder_connector_get(), and replacing it with nv04_encoder_get_connector(), nv50_outp_get_old_connector(), and nv50_outp_get_new_connector(). v2: * Don't line-wrap for_each_(old|new)_connector_in_state in nv50_outp_get_(old|new)_connector() - sravn v3: * Fix potential uninitialized usage of nv_connector (needs to be initialized to NULL at the start). Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is confusing. Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more. The correct way for legacy drivers to update properties that need to do a full modeset, is to do a full modeset. Note that we don't need to call the drm_mode_config_internal helper because we're not changing any of the refcounted paramters. v2: Fixup error handling (Ville). 2015-01-22drm/nouveau: finalise nvkm namespace switch (no binary change)Ben Skeggs1-2/+2
The namespace of NVKM is being changed to nvkm_ instead of nouveau_, which will be used for the DRM part of the driver. This is being done in order to make it very clear as to what part of the driver a given symbol belongs to, and as a minor step towards splitting the DRM driver out to be able to stand on its own (for virt). Because there's already a large amount of churn here anyway, this is as good a time as any to also switch to NVIDIA's device and chipset naming to ease collaboration with them. It'd be pretty awesome if someone would care enough to port this all properly to a class interface, perhaps submitting a command stream to the core via a sw object on PFIFO (emulating how EVO works basically, and also what nvidia have done forever..).. But, this seems unlikely given how old this hardware is now, so, lets just hide it away. There's a heap of other bits and pieces laying around that are still tangled. I'll (re)move them in pieces.
