2023-07-21drm: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring8-8/+12
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-06-08drm/sun4i: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König11-44/+22
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert the sun4i drm drivers from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2023-06-01drm/sun4i: hdmi: Replace all non-returning strlcpy with strscpyAzeem Shaikh1-1/+1
strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated [1]. In an effort to remove strlcpy() completely [2], replace strlcpy() here with strscpy(). No return values were used, so direct replacement is safe. 2023-05-11drm: sun4i_tcon: use devm_clk_get_enabled in `sun4i_tcon_init_clocks`XuDong Liu1-15/+4
Smatch reports: drivers/gpu/drm/sun4i/sun4i_tcon.c:805 sun4i_tcon_init_clocks() warn: 'tcon->clk' from clk_prepare_enable() not released on lines: 792,801. In the function sun4i_tcon_init_clocks(), tcon->clk and tcon->sclk0 are not disabled in the error handling, which affects the release of these variable. Although sun4i_tcon_bind(), which calls sun4i_tcon_init_clocks(), use sun4i_tcon_free_clocks to disable the variables mentioned, but the error handling branch of sun4i_tcon_init_clocks() ignores the required disable process. To fix this issue, use the devm_clk_get_enabled to automatically balance enable and disabled calls. As original implementation use sun4i_tcon_free_clocks() to disable clk explicitly, we delete the related calls and error handling that are no longer needed. While the rate of TCON0's DCLK matches dotclock for parallel and LVDS outputs, this doesn't hold for DSI. The 'D' in DCLK actually stands for 'Data' according to Allwinner's manuals. The clock is mostly referred to as dclk throughout this driver already anyway, so stick with that. 2022-08-15drm/sun4i: dsi: Prevent underflow when computing packet sizesSamuel Holland1-5/+5
Currently, the packet overhead is subtracted using unsigned arithmetic. With a short sync pulse, this could underflow and wrap around to near the maximal u16 value. Fix this by using signed subtraction. The call to max() will correctly handle any negative numbers that are produced. Apply the same fix to the other timings, even though those subtractions are less likely to underflow. Allwinner display drivers are split roughly into two generations. The first generation was found on early 32-bit ARM SoCs and contains DE1.0 and a custom HDMI controller. Clarify that these options only apply to a specific list of SoCs, and limit selecting them to 32-bit ARM, to avoid confusion. The second generation, found in A83T and newer SoCs (both 32-bit and 64-bit), contains a DE2.0 and a DesignWare HDMI controller. Since this is the most widely-used generation, enable it by default. The previous default condition (MACH_SUN8I) was limited to 32-bit SoCs. Also enable the DSI controller by default, which is found on 64-bit SoCs as well. 2022-06-20drm: Drop drm_blend.h from drm_crtc.hVille Syrjälä5-0/+5
drm_crtc.h has no need for drm_blend.h, so don't include it. Avoids useless rebuilds of the entire universe when touching drm_blend.h. Quite a few placs do currently depend on drm_blend.h without actually including it directly. All of those need to be fixed up. 2022-06-16drm/sun4i: Fix crash during suspend after component bind failureSamuel Holland1-1/+3
If the component driver fails to bind, or is unbound, the driver data for the top-level platform device points to a freed drm_device. If the system is then suspended, the driver passes this dangling pointer to drm_mode_config_helper_suspend(), which crashes. Fix this by only setting the driver data while the platform driver holds a reference to the drm_device.
