2024-01-26drm/dp_mst: Fix fractional DSC bpp handlingVille Syrjälä1-3/+3
[ Upstream commit 7707dd6022593f3edd8e182e7935870cf326f874 ] The current code does '(bpp << 4) / 16' in the MST PBN calculation, but that is just the same as 'bpp' so the DSC codepath achieves absolutely nothing. Fix it up so that the fractional part of the bpp value is actually used instead of truncated away. 64*1006 has enough zero lsbs that we can just shift that down in the dividend and thus still manage to stick to a 32bit divisor. And while touching this, let's just make the whole thing more straightforward by making the passed in bpp value .4 binary fixed point always, instead of having to pass in different things based on whether DSC is enabled or not. v2: - Fix DSC kunit test cases. 2023-09-15drm/tests: Fix incorrect argument in drm_test_mm_insert_rangeJanusz Krzysztofik1-1/+1
While drm_mm test was converted form igt selftest to kunit, unexpected value of "end" argument equal "start" was introduced to one of calls to a function that executes the drm_test_mm_insert_range for specific start/end pair of arguments. 2023-07-31drm/tests: helpers: Create a helper to allocate an atomic stateMaxime Ripard1-0/+46

The drm_buddy_test KUnit tests verify that returned blocks have sizes which are powers of two using is_power_of_2(). However, is_power_of_2() operations on a 'long', but the block size is a u64. So on systems where long is 32-bit, this can sometimes fail even on correctly sized blocks. This only reproduces randomly, as the parameters passed to the buddy allocator in this test are random. The seed 0xb2e06022 reproduced it fine here. For now, just hardcode an is_power_of_2() implementation using x & (x - 1). Due to holidays we started -next with more -fixes in-flight than usual, and people have been asking where they are. Backmerge to get things better in sync. Conflicts: - Tiny conflict in drm_fbdev_generic.c between variable rename and missing error handling that got added. - Conflict in drm_fb_helper.c between the added call to vgaswitcheroo in drm_fb_helper_single_fb_probe and a refactor patch that extracted lots of helpers and incidentally removed the dev local variable. Readd it to make things compile. Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch>

2023-01-03drm/format-helper: Add conversion from XRGB8888 to 15-bit RGB555 formatsThomas Zimmermann1-0/+189

2022-12-24drm/tests: reduce drm_mm_test stack usageArnd Bergmann2-3/+5
The check_reserve_boundaries function uses a lot of kernel stack, and it gets inlined by clang, which makes __drm_test_mm_reserve use even more of it, to the point of hitting the warning limit: drivers/gpu/drm/tests/drm_mm_test.c:344:12: error: stack frame size (1048) exceeds limit (1024) in '__drm_test_mm_reserve' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than] When building with gcc, this does not happen, but the structleak plugin can similarly increase the stack usage and needs to be disabled, as we do for all other kunit users.
