2024-06-09hwmon: (tmp464) Remove use of i2c_match_id()Andrew Davis1-4/+1
The function i2c_match_id() is used to fetch the matching ID from the i2c_device_id table. This is often used to then retrieve the matching driver_data. This can be done in one step with the helper i2c_get_match_data(). This helper has a couple other benefits: * It doesn't need the i2c_device_id passed in so we do not need to have that forward declared, allowing us to remove those or move the i2c_device_id table down to its more natural spot with the other module info. * It also checks for device match data, which allows for OF and ACPI based probing. That means we do not have to manually check those first and can remove those checks. 2023-08-21hwmon: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-06-10hwmon: (tmp464) Use maple tree register cacheMark Brown1-1/+1
The tmp464 is only capable of performing single register read and write operations which means it gains no advantage from using a rbtree register cache, convert it to using the more modern maple tree register cache instead. This should be more efficient. 2023-06-08hwmon: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2022-03-03hwmon: Add driver for Texas Instruments TMP464 and TMP468Guenter Roeck1-0/+712
Add support for Texas Instruments TMP464 and TMP468 temperature sensor ICs. TI's TMP464 is an I2C temperature sensor chip. This chip is similar to TI's TMP421 chip, but with 16bit-wide registers (instead of 8bit-wide registers). The chip has one local sensor and four remote sensors. TMP468 is similar to TMP464 but has one local and eight remote sensors.
