2022-03-02iio: adc: men_z188_adc: Fix a resource leak in an error handling pathChristophe JAILLET1-1/+8
commit e0a2e37f303828d030a83f33ffe14b36cb88d563 upstream. If iio_device_register() fails, a previous ioremap() is left unbalanced. Update the error handling path and add the missing iounmap() call, as already done in the remove function. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean1-1/+0
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. Check for iio_info structures that are only stored in the info field of a iio_dev structure. This field is declared const, so iio_info structures that have this property can be declared as const also. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @r disable optional_qualifier@ identifier i; position p; @@ static struct iio_info i@p = { ... }; @ok@ identifier r.i; struct iio_dev e; position p; @@ e.info = &i@p; @bad@ position p != {r.p,ok.p}; identifier r.i; struct iio_info e; @@ e@i@p @depends on !bad disable optional_qualifier@ identifier r.i; @@ static +const struct iio_info i = { ... }; // </smpl> The result of size on this file before the change is: text data bss dec hex filename 1529 312 0 1841 731 drivers/iio/adc/men_z188_adc.o and after the change it is: text data bss dec hex filename 1689 168 0 1857 741 drivers/iio/adc/men_z188_adc.o Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org>
