2023-05-21iio: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2023-03-12iio: light: max44009: add missing OF device matchingKrzysztof Kozlowski1-6/+7
The driver currently matches only via i2c_device_id, but also has of_device_id table: drivers/iio/light/max44009.c:545:34: error: ‘max44009_of_match’ defined but not used [-Werror=unused-const-variable=] Fixes: 6aef699a7d7e ("iio: light: add driver for MAX44009") Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230312153429.371702-2-krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>
2022-12-28iio: light: max44009: Convert to i2c's .probe_new()Uwe Kleine-König1-3/+2
The probe function doesn't make use of the i2c_device_id * parameter so it can be trivially converted. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean1-1/+0
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. 2019-02-02iio: light: add driver for MAX44009Robert Eshleman1-0/+555
The MAX44009 is a low-power ambient light sensor from Maxim Integrated. It differs from the MAX44000 in that it doesn't have proximity sensing and that it requires far less current (1 micro-amp vs 5 micro-amps). The register mapping and feature set between the two are different enough to require a new driver for the MAX44009. Developed and tested with a BeagleBone Black and UDOO Neo (i.MX6SX) Supported features: * Reading lux (processed value) * Rising and falling illuminance threshold events * Configuring integration time https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX44009.pdf Signed-off-by: Robert Eshleman <bobbyeshleman@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>
