2023-05-17Input: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2023-01-28Input: adxl34x - unify dev_pm_ops using EXPORT_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS()Jonathan Cameron1-24/+1
The I2C and SPI PM callbacks were identical (though wrapped in some bouncing out to the bus specific container of the struct device and then back again to get the drvdata). As such rather than just moving these to SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() and pm_sleep_ptr() take the opportunity to unify the struct dev_pm_ops and use the new EXPORT_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() macro so that we can drop the unused suspend and resume callbacks as well as the structure if !CONFIG_PM_SLEEP without needing to mark the callbacks __maybe_unused. 2022-08-16i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. Up to now adxl34x_remove() returns zero unconditionally. Make it return void instead which makes it easier to see in the callers that there is no error to handle. Also the return value of i2c and spi remove callbacks is ignored anyway. 2015-05-22Input: adxl34x - add OF match supportLaurent Pinchart1-0/+21
The I2C subsystem can match devices without explicit OF support based on the part of their compatible property after the comma. However, this mechanism uses the first compatible value only. For adxl34x OF device nodes the compatible property will contain the more specific "adi,adxl345" or "adi,adxl346" value first. This prevents the device node from being matched with the adxl34x driver. Fix this by adding an OF match table with an "adi,adxl345" compatible entry. There's no need to add the "adi,adxl346" entry as the ADXL346 is backward-compatible with the ADXL345 with differences handled by runtime detection of the device model.
