module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. Check dev->actconfig rather than dev->config when checking various configuration things. dev->config points to the array of configs for the device so dev->config->foo boils down to dev->config[0].foo and the first config is not necessarily always the active config. usb_altnum_to_altsetting() may return NULL. If it does we'll dereference a NULL pointer in drivers/media/video/gspca/stv06xx/stv06xx_pb0100.c::pb0100_start(). As far as I can tell there's not really anything more sensible than -ENODEV that we can return in that situation, but I'm not at all intimate with this code so I'd like a bit of review/comments on this before it's applied. 2010-12-29[media] gspca-stv06xx: support bandwidth changingHans de Goede8-27/+93
stv06xx devices have only one altsetting, but the actual used bandwidth can be programmed through a register. We were already setting this register lower then the max packetsize of the altsetting indicates. This patch makes the gspca-stv06xx update the usb descriptor for the alt setting to reflect the actual packetsize in use, so that the usb subsystem uses the correct information for scheduling usb transfers. This patch also tries to fallback to lower speeds in case a ENOSPC error is received when submitting urbs, but currently this is only supported with stv06xx cams with the pb0100 sensor, as this is the only one for which we know how to change the framerate. The Quickcam Web camera would not produce an image if you removed and inserted the module multiple times without physically power cycling the camera first. Due to rounding and clipping, exposure and gain settings do not map to unique register values. Rather than read the registers and report gain and exposure that may be different than the values that were set, just cache the latest values that were set and report them. Reduce exposure range from 0-65535 to 0-255 so libv4l's autogain doesn't take forever. Remove vestiges of driver signal processing that is now handled by libv4l.
