2024-07-04mfd: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0Uwe Kleine-König1-2/+2
These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. While add it, also remove commas after the sentinel entries. 2023-07-28mfd: tps6586x: Register restart handlerBenjamin Bara1-0/+21
There are a couple of boards which use a tps6586x as "ti,system-power-controller", e.g. the tegra20-tamonten.dtsi. For these, the only registered restart handler is the warm reboot via tegra's PMC. As the bootloader of the tegra20 requires the VDE, it must be ensured that VDE is enabled (which is the case after a cold reboot). For the "normal reboot", this is basically the case since 8f0c714ad9be. However, this workaround is not executed in case of an emergency restart. In case of an emergency restart, the system now simply hangs in the bootloader, as VDE is not enabled (because it is not used). The TPS658629-Q1 provides a SOFT RST bit in the SUPPLYENE reg to request a (cold) reboot, which takes at least 20ms (as the data sheet states). This avoids the hang-up. Tested on a TPS658640. 2023-04-26mfd: tps6586x: Remove MODULE_LICENSE in non-modulesNick Alcock1-1/+0
Since commit 8b41fc4454e ("kbuild: create modules.builtin without Makefile.modbuiltin or tristate.conf"), MODULE_LICENSE declarations are used to identify modules. As a consequence, uses of the macro in non-modules will cause modprobe to misidentify their containing object file as a module when it is not (false positives), and modprobe might succeed rather than failing with a suitable error message. So remove it in the files in this commit, none of which can be built as modules. 2022-12-07mfd: tps6586x: Remove #ifdef guards for PM related functionsPaul Cercueil1-5/+1
Use the new pm_sleep_ptr() macro to handle the .irq_set_wake() callback. This macro allows the mt6397_irq_set_wake() function to be automatically dropped by the compiler when CONFIG_SUSPEND is disabled, without having to use #ifdef guards. This has the advantage of always compiling these functions in, independently of any Kconfig option. Thanks to that, bugs and other regressions are subsequently easier to catch. 2022-08-16i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-2/+1
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. The tps6586x driver creates an irqchip that is used by its various child devices for managing interrupts. The tps6586x-rtc device is one of its children that uses the tps6586x irqchip. When using the tps6586x-rtc as a wake-up device from suspend, the following is seen: PM: Syncing filesystems ... done. Freezing user space processes ... (elapsed 0.001 seconds) done. OOM killer disabled. Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.000 seconds) done. Disabling non-boot CPUs ... Entering suspend state LP1 Enabling non-boot CPUs ... CPU1 is up tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status The reason why the tps6586x interrupt status cannot be read is because the tps6586x interrupt is not masked during suspend and when the tps6586x-rtc interrupt occurs, to wake-up the device, the interrupt is seen before the i2c controller has been resumed in order to read the tps6586x interrupt status. The tps6586x-rtc driver sets it's interrupt as a wake-up source during suspend, which gets propagated to the parent tps6586x interrupt. However, the tps6586x-rtc driver cannot disable it's interrupt during suspend otherwise we would never be woken up and so the tps6586x must disable it's interrupt instead. Prevent the tps6586x interrupt handler from executing on exiting suspend before the i2c controller has been resumed by disabling the tps6586x interrupt on entering suspend and re-enabling it on resuming from suspend. 2015-08-11mfd: Kill off set_irq_flags usageRob Herring1-7/+0
set_irq_flags is ARM specific with custom flags which have genirq equivalents. Convert drivers to use the genirq interfaces directly, so we can kill off set_irq_flags. The translation of flags is as follows: IRQF_VALID -> !IRQ_NOREQUEST IRQF_PROBE -> !IRQ_NOPROBE IRQF_NOAUTOEN -> IRQ_NOAUTOEN For IRQs managed by an irqdomain, the irqdomain core code handles clearing and setting IRQ_NOREQUEST already, so there is no need to do this in .map() functions and we can simply remove the set_irq_flags calls. Some users also modify IRQ_NOPROBE and this has been maintained although it is not clear that is really needed. There appears to be a great deal of blind copy and paste of this code. 2013-10-23mfd: tps6586x: Implement irq_set_wakeStephen Warren1-3/+15
rtc-tps6586x calls enable/disable_irq_wake() during suspend/resume. Since the main tps6586x irq_chip doesn't implement .irq_set_wake, this causes the RTC's enable_irq_wake() to fail, and the disable_irq_wake() to spew a WARN about unbalanced wake disable. Solve this by implementing .irq_set_wake. Also, I assume that enable_irq_wake() shouldn't be called unconditionally in tps6586x_irq_init(), since this is now triggered by IRQ children setting up their cascaded IRQs for wake. So, remove that. Moving regulator node parsing to regulator driver in place of parsing it on mfd driver. The motivation for this change are: - MFD core driver should not depends on regulator and able to instantiate device without regulator. - The API for matching regulators are in regulator core and it is good that regulator driver only calls this API. - Regulator specific support should be in regulator driver only to ease any enhancement/modification for regulators. - The regulator driver is now registered as mfd sub device and all regulator registration is done from single probe call. Allocate the irq base if it base is not porvided i.e. in case of device tree invocation of this driver. Convert the tps6586x driver to irq domain, using a legacy IRQ mapping if an irq_base is specified in platform data or dynamically allocated and otherwise using a linear mapping. Currently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an irqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree and only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs in the device tree with compatible properties. This will be actively harmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern for their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change remapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don't do DT with this particular pattern. There is also a potential fragility if there are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are omitted from the device tree for some reason. Instead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument, allowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their interrupts. The one current user of this feature is ab8500-core, it has the domain lookup pushed out into the driver. Device have SYS rail which is always ON. It is system power bus. LDO5 and LDO_RTC get powered through this rail internally. Add support for this rail and make the LDO5/LDO_RTC supply by it. 2011-05-26mfd: Fix tps6586x GPIO value settingVincent Palatin1-2/+2
In the current code, every time we set a TPS6586x GPIO pin, the tps6586x_gpio_set function is resetting all other GPIO pins. We need to update the right GPIOxOUT bit of the GPIOSET2 register instead of overriding the full value. Tested by setting sequentially GPIO2 and GPIO3 and verifying the pins voltage.
