2017-06-20mmc: renesas-sdhi: rename tmio_mmc_dma.c => renesas_sdhi_sys_dmac.cSimon Horman1-368/+0
Rename the source file for DMA for SDHI as a follow-up to attaching DMA code to the SDHI driver rather than the tmio_core driver. The name "renesas" is chosen as the SDHI driver is applicable to a wider range of SoCs than SH-Mobile it seems to be a more appropriate name. However, the SDHI driver source itself, is left as sh_mobile_sdhi to avoid unnecessary churn. The name sys_dmac was chosen to reflect the type of DMA used. Internal symbols have also been renamed to reflect the filename change. A follow-up patch will re-organise the SDHI driver removing the need for renesas_sdhi_get_dma_ops(). 2017-06-20mmc: renesas-sdhi, tmio: make dma more modularSimon Horman1-5/+19
Refactor DMA support to allow it to be provided by a set of call-backs that are provided by a host driver. The motivation is to allow multiple DMA implementations to be provided and instantiated at run-time. Instantiate the existing DMA implementation from the sh_mobile_sdhi driver which appears to match the current use-case. This has the side effect of moving the DMA code from the tmio_core to the sh_mobile_sdhi driver. A follow-up patch will change the source file for the SDHI DMA implementation accordingly. Another follow-up patch will re-organise the SDHI driver removing the need for tmio_mmc_get_dma_ops(). 2017-06-20mmc: tmio: drop filenames from comment at top of sourceSimon Horman1-3/+1
Reshuffle the comment at the top of the source dropping filenames and moving up human readable strings. This seems to be somewhat more useful information to start the source file with. It is also less fragile, f.e. to file renames. 2017-04-24mmc: tmio: always unmap DMA before waiting for interruptWolfram Sang1-2/+5
In the (maybe academical) case, we don't get a DATAEND interrupt after DMA completed, we will wait endlessly for the completion to complete. This is not bad per se, since we have a more generic completion tracking a timeout. In that rare case, however, the DMA buffer will not get unmapped and we have a leak. Reorder the code, so unmapping will always take place. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa+renesas@sang-engineering.com> Signed-off-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org>
2017-04-24mmc: tmio: ensure end of DMA and SD access are in syncWolfram Sang1-24/+34
The current code assumes that DMA is finished before SD access end is flagged. Thus, it schedules the 'dma_complete' tasklet in the SD card interrupt routine when DATAEND is set. The assumption is not safe, though. Even by mounting an SD card, it can be seen that sometimes DMA complete is first, sometimes DATAEND. It seems they are usually close enough timewise to not cause problems. However, a customer reported that with CMD53 sometimes things really break apart. As a result, the BSP has a patch which introduces flags for both events and makes sure both flags are set before scheduling the tasklet. The customer accepted the patch, yet it doesn't seem a proper upstream solution to me. This patch refactors the code to replace the tasklet with already existing and more lightweight mechanisms. First of all, we set the callback in a DMA descriptor to automatically get notified when DMA is done. In the callback, we then use a completion to make sure the SD access has already ended. Then, we proceed as before. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa+renesas@sang-engineering.com> Signed-off-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org>

2016-04-04mm, fs: get rid of PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} macrosKirill A. Shutemov1-2/+2
PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE. This promise never materialized. And unlikely will. We have many places where PAGE_CACHE_SIZE assumed to be equal to PAGE_SIZE. And it's constant source of confusion on whether PAGE_CACHE_* or PAGE_* constant should be used in a particular case, especially on the border between fs and mm. Global switching to PAGE_CACHE_SIZE != PAGE_SIZE would cause to much breakage to be doable. Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are not. The changes are pretty straight-forward: - <foo> << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - <foo> >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} -> PAGE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN}; - page_cache_get() -> get_page(); - page_cache_release() -> put_page(); This patch contains automated changes generated with coccinelle using script below. For some reason, coccinelle doesn't patch header files. I've called spatch for them manually. The only adjustment after coccinelle is revert of changes to PAGE_CAHCE_ALIGN definition: we are going to drop it later. There are few places in the code where coccinelle didn't reach. I'll fix them manually in a separate patch. Comments and documentation also will be addressed with the separate patch. virtual patch @@ expression E; @@ - E << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ expression E; @@ - E >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT + PAGE_SHIFT @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SIZE + PAGE_SIZE @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_MASK + PAGE_MASK @@ expression E; @@ - PAGE_CACHE_ALIGN(E) + PAGE_ALIGN(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_get(E) + get_page(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_release(E) + put_page(E) Signed-off-by: Kirill A. 2015-03-05mmc: tmio: mmc: tmio: tmio_mmc_data has .chan_priv_?xKuninori Morimoto1-3/+3
dma_request_slave_channel_compat() in tmio_mmc_dma needs .chan_priv_tx/.chan_priv_rx. But these are copied from sh_mobile_sdhi only, and sh_mobile_sdhi_info is now almost same as tmio_mmc_data except .chan_priv_?x. sh_mobile_sdhi_info can be replaced to tmio_mmc_data, but it is used from ${LINUX}/arch/arm/mach-shmobile, ${LINUX}/arch/sh. So, this patch adds .chan_priv_?x into tmio_mmc_data as 1st step, and sh_mobile_sdhi driver has dummy operation for now. It will be replaced/removed together with platform data replace. 2013-08-25mmc: tmio_mmc_dma: fix PIO fallback on SDHISergei Shtylyov1-2/+2
I'm testing SH-Mobile SDHI driver in DMA mode with a new DMA controller using 'bonnie++' and getting DMA error after which the tmio_mmc_dma.c code falls back to PIO but all commands time out after that. It turned out that the fallback code calls tmio_mmc_enable_dma() with RX/TX channels already freed and pointers to them cleared, so that the function bails out early instead of clearing the DMA bit in the CTL_DMA_ENABLE register. The regression was introduced by commit 162f43e31c5a376ec16336e5d0ac973373d54c89 (mmc: tmio: fix a deadlock). Moving tmio_mmc_enable_dma() calls to the top of the PIO fallback code in tmio_mmc_start_dma_{rx|tx}() helps. 2011-03-25mmc: tmio: split core functionality, DMA and MFD glueGuennadi Liakhovetski1-0/+316
TMIO MMC chips contain an SD / SDIO IP core from Panasonic, similar to the one, used in MN5774 and other MN57xx controllers. These IP cores are included in many multifunction devices, in sh-mobile chips from Renesas, in the latter case they can also use DMA. Some sh-mobile implementations also have some other specialities, that MFD-based solutions don't have. This makes supporting all these features in a monolithic driver inconveniet and error-prone. This patch splits the driver into 3 parts: the core, the MFD glue and the DMA support. In case of a modular build, two modules will be built: mmc_tmio_core and mmc_tmio.
