2023-08-15mmc: usdhi60rol0: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidYangtao Li1-4/+2
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. The driver overrides the error codes returned by platform_get_irq_byname() to -ENODEV, so if it returns -EPROBE_DEFER, the driver will fail the probe permanently instead of the deferred probing. Switch to propagating error codes upstream. When switching card voltage to UHS voltage the mmc framework tries to check the card busy signal, meaning the card pulling DAT0 line low, before the switch is made. Drivers that does not implement the card_busy function will manage to do the switch anyway, but the framework will print a warning about not being able to verify the voltage signal. 2020-05-28mmc: usdhi6rol0: Inform the mmc core about the maximum busy timeoutUlf Hansson1-1/+8
Some commands uses R1B responses, which means the card may assert the DAT0 line to signal busy for a period of time, after it has received the command. The mmc core normally specifies the busy period for the command in the cmd->busy_timeout. Ideally the driver should respect it, but that requires quite some update of the code, so let's defer that to someone with the HW at hand. Instead, let's inform the mmc core about the maximum supported busy timeout in ->max_busy_timeout during ->probe(). This value corresponds to the fixed 4s timeout used by usdhi6rol0. In this way, we let the mmc core validate the needed timeout, which may lead to that it converts from a R1B into a R1 response and then use CMD13 to poll for busy completion. In other words, this change enables support for commands with longer busy periods than 4s, like erase (CMD38) for example. 2017-10-30mmc: usdhi6rol0: catch all errors when getting regulatorsWolfram Sang1-1/+1
Bail out everytime when mmc_regulator_get_supply() returns an errno, not only when probing gets deferred. This is currently a no-op, because this function only returns -EPROBE_DEFER or 0 right now. But if it will throw another error somewhen, it will be for a reason. (This still doesn't change that getting regulators is optional, so 0 can still mean no regulators found). PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE. This promise never materialized. And unlikely will. We have many places where PAGE_CACHE_SIZE assumed to be equal to PAGE_SIZE. And it's constant source of confusion on whether PAGE_CACHE_* or PAGE_* constant should be used in a particular case, especially on the border between fs and mm. Global switching to PAGE_CACHE_SIZE != PAGE_SIZE would cause to much breakage to be doable. Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are not. The only adjustment after coccinelle is revert of changes to PAGE_CAHCE_ALIGN definition: we are going to drop it later. There are few places in the code where coccinelle didn't reach. I'll fix them manually in a separate patch. We ignore errors from mmc_regulator_get_supply() because the usage of the regulators is optional for the driver, but we still need to check for and handle EPROBE_DEFER, like it's done in for example dw_mmc.
