2006-11-29[MTD] Tidy bitrev usage in rtc_from4.cAndrew Morton1-1/+1

2006-11-29[MTD] [NAND] rtc_from4.c: use lib/bitrev.cAdrian Bunk1-42/+2
This patch converts drivers/mtd/nand/rtc_from4.c to use the new lib/bitrev.c Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-05-29[MTD] NAND Replace oobinfo by ecclayoutThomas Gleixner1-3/+2
The nand_oobinfo structure is not fitting the newer error correction demands anymore. Replace it by struct nand_ecclayout and fixup the users all over the place. Keep the nand_oobinfo based ioctl for user space compability reasons. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-26[MTD] NAND modularize write functionThomas Gleixner1-1/+0
Modularize the write function and reorganaize the internal buffer management. Remove obsolete chip options and fixup all affected users. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-25[MTD] NAND Modularize read functionThomas Gleixner1-25/+37
Split the core of the read function out and implement seperate handling functions for software and hardware ECC. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-24[MTD] Refactor NAND hwcontrol to cmd_ctrlThomas Gleixner1-24/+10
The hwcontrol function enforced a step by step state machine for any kind of hardware chip access. Let the hardware driver know which control bits are set and inform it about a change of the control lines. Let the hardware driver write out the command and address bytes directly. This gives a peformance advantage for address bus controlled chips and simplifies the quirks in the hardware drivers. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23Merge branch 'master' of /home/tglx/work/kernel/git/mtd-2.6/Thomas Gleixner1-1/+1
Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23[MTD] NAND modularize ECCThomas Gleixner1-5/+7
First step of modularizing ECC support. - Move ECC related functionality into a seperate embedded data structure - Get rid of the hardware dependend constants to simplify new ECC models Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23[MTD] Introduce writesizeJoern Engel1-1/+1
At least two flashes exists that have the concept of a minimum write unit, similar to NAND pages, but no other NAND characteristics. Therefore, rename the minimum write unit to "writesize" for all flashes, including NAND. Signed-off-by: Joern Engel <joern@wh.fh-wedel.de>
2006-05-16[MTD NAND] Make various initfuncs static, remove #ifdef MODULE from exitfuncsDavid Woodhouse1-3/+1
We all inherited the same error from the original NAND board driver which got copied and changed. Fix them all at once... Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-05-14[MTD] Fix module refcounting in NAND board drivers.David Woodhouse1-0/+1
The _board_ driver needs to be mtd->owner, and it in turn pins the nand.ko module. Fix them all to actually do that, and fix nand.ko not to overwrite it -- and also to check that the caller sets it, if the caller is a module. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-05-13[MTD NAND] Indent all of drivers/mtd/nand/*.c.David Woodhouse1-139/+117
It was just too painful to deal with. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-01-10[PATCH] turn "const static" into "static const"Jesper Juhl1-1/+1
ICC likes to complain about storage class not being first, GCC doesn't care much (except for cases like "inline static"). have a hard time seeing how it could break anything. Thanks to Gabriel A. Devenyi for pointing out http://linuxicc.sourceforge.net/ which is what made me create this patch. 2005-11-07[MTD] NAND: Clean up trailing white spacesThomas Gleixner1-29/+29
Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2005-05-23[MTD] rtc_from4 error status check, disable virtual erase blocksDavid A. Marlin1-5/+89
Added routine to perform extra error status checks on erase and write failures to determine if errors are correctable. Added option to prevent JFFS2 from using virtual erase blocks. Performed minor cleanup on whitespace and comments. Signed-off-by: David A. Marlin <dmarlin@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2005-05-23[MTD] Renesas AG-AND device recoveryDavid A. Marlin1-4/+44
Add routine to perform device recovery (deplete) procedure. Clean up some compiler warnings. Signed-off-by: David A. Marlin <dmarlin@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
