2024-05-08net: annotate writes on dev->mtu from ndo_change_mtu()Eric Dumazet1-1/+1
Simon reported that ndo_change_mtu() methods were never updated to use WRITE_ONCE(dev->mtu, new_mtu) as hinted in commit 501a90c94510 ("inet: protect against too small mtu values.") We read dev->mtu without holding RTNL in many places, with READ_ONCE() annotations. It is time to take care of ndo_change_mtu() methods to use corresponding WRITE_ONCE() Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Reported-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Closes: https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/20240505144608.GB67882@kernel.org/ Reviewed-by: Jacob Keller <jacob.e.keller@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Sabrina Dubroca <sd@queasysnail.net> Reviewed-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Acked-by: Shannon Nelson <shannon.nelson@amd.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240506102812.3025432-1-edumazet@google.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2023-06-15net: tls: make the offload check helper take skb not socketJakub Kicinski1-1/+1
All callers of tls_is_sk_tx_device_offloaded() currently do an equivalent of: if (skb->sk && tls_is_skb_tx_device_offloaded(skb->sk)) Have the helper accept skb and do the skb->sk check locally. Two drivers have local static inlines with similar wrappers already. While at it change the ifdef condition to TLS_DEVICE. Only TLS_DEVICE selects SOCK_VALIDATE_XMIT, so the two are equivalent. This makes removing the duplicated IS_ENABLED() check in funeth more obviously correct. 2023-03-09cxgb4: Drop redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting()Bjorn Helgaas1-4/+0
pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() enables the device to send ERR_* Messages. Since f26e58bf6f54 ("PCI/AER: Enable error reporting when AER is native"), the PCI core does this for all devices during enumeration, so the driver doesn't need to do it itself. Remove the redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() call from the driver. Also remove the corresponding pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting() from the driver .remove() path. Note that this only controls ERR_* Messages from the device. An ERR_* Message may cause the Root Port to generate an interrupt, depending on the AER Root Error Command register managed by the AER service driver. 2022-01-10cxgb4: Remove useless DMA-32 fallback configurationChristophe JAILLET1-12/+5

2021-07-27dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctlArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP. 2021-07-08cxgb4: fix IRQ free race during driver unloadShahjada Abul Husain1-8/+10
IRQs are requested during driver's ndo_open() and then later freed up in disable_interrupts() during driver unload. A race exists where driver can set the CXGB4_FULL_INIT_DONE flag in ndo_open() after the disable_interrupts() in driver unload path checks it, and hence misses calling free_irq(). Fix by unregistering netdevice first and sync with driver's ndo_open(). This ensures disable_interrupts() checks the flag correctly and frees up the IRQs properly. 2020-06-24cxgb4: fix endian conversions for L4 ports in filtersRahul Lakkireddy1-1/+1
The source and destination L4 ports in filter offload need to be in CPU endian. They will finally be converted to Big Endian after all operations are done and before giving them to hardware. The L4 ports for NAT are expected to be passed as a byte stream TCB. So, treat them as such. Fixes following sparse warnings in several places: cxgb4_tc_flower.c:159:33: warning: cast from restricted __be16 cxgb4_tc_flower.c:159:33: warning: incorrect type in argument 1 (different base types) cxgb4_tc_flower.c:159:33: expected unsigned short [usertype] val cxgb4_tc_flower.c:159:33: got restricted __be16 [usertype] dst Fixes: dca4faeb812f ("cxgb4: Add LE hash collision bug fix path in LLD driver") Fixes: 62488e4b53ae ("cxgb4: add basic tc flower offload support") Fixes: 557ccbf9dfa8 ("cxgb4: add tc flower support for L3/L4 rewrite") Signed-off-by: Rahul Lakkireddy <rahul.lakkireddy@chelsio.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-06-02cxgb4/chcr: Enable ktls settings at run timeRohit Maheshwari1-1/+84
Current design enables ktls setting from start, which is not efficient. Now the feature will be enabled when user demands TLS offload on any interface. v1->v2: - taking ULD module refcount till any single connection exists. - taking rtnl_lock() before clearing tls_devops. v2->v3: - cxgb4 is now registering to tlsdev_ops. - module refcount inc/dec in chcr. - refcount is only for connections. - removed new code from cxgb_set_feature(). v3->v4: - fixed warning message. 2020-05-15cxgb4: tune burst buffer size for TC-MQPRIO offloadRahul Lakkireddy1-1/+1
For each traffic class, firmware handles up to 4 * MTU amount of data per burst cycle. Under heavy load, this small buffer size is a bottleneck when buffering large TSO packets in <= 1500 MTU case. Increase the burst buffer size to 8 * MTU when supported. Also, keep the driver's traffic class configuration API similar to the firmware API counterpart. 2020-04-01cxgb4: fix MPS index overwrite when setting MAC addressHerat Ramani1-1/+0
cxgb4_update_mac_filt() earlier requests firmware to add a new MAC address into MPS TCAM. The MPS TCAM index returned by firmware is stored in pi->xact_addr_filt. However, the saved MPS TCAM index gets overwritten again with the return value of cxgb4_update_mac_filt(), which is wrong. When trying to update to another MAC address later, the wrong MPS TCAM index is sent to firmware, which causes firmware to return error, because it's not the same MPS TCAM index that firmware had sent earlier to driver. So, fix by removing the wrong overwrite being done after call to cxgb4_update_mac_filt(). 2020-03-04cxgb4: fix checks for max queues to allocateVishal Kulkarni1-22/+27
Hardware can support more than 8 queues currently limited by netif_get_num_default_rss_queues(). So, rework and fix checks for max number of queues to allocate. 2020-01-19cxgb4: fix Tx multi channel port rate limitRahul Lakkireddy1-3/+11
T6 can support 2 egress traffic management channels per port to double the total number of traffic classes that can be configured. In this configuration, if the class belongs to the other channel, then all the queues must be bound again explicitly to the new class, for the rate limit parameters on the other channel to take effect. So, always explicitly bind all queues to the port rate limit traffic class, regardless of the traffic management channel that it belongs to. Also, only bind queues to port rate limit traffic class, if all the queues don't already belong to an existing different traffic class. 2019-12-18cxgb4/chtls: fix ULD connection failures due to wrong TID baseShahjada Abul Husain1-5/+8
Currently, the hardware TID index is assumed to start from index 0. However, with the following changeset, commit c21939998802 ("cxgb4: add support for high priority filters") hardware TID index can start after the high priority region, which has introduced a regression resulting in connection failures for ULDs.
