The 1st and 2nd expansion BAR configuration registers are configured,
when the driver starts up, in variables 'barcfg_msix_general' and
'barcfg_msix_xpb', respectively. The 'LengthSelect' field is ORed in
from bit 0, which is incorrect. The 'LengthSelect' field should
start from bit 27.
This has largely gone un-noticed because
NFP_PCIE_BAR_PCIE2CPP_LengthSelect_32BIT happens to be 0.

strncpy() is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings
[1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string
interfaces.
We expect res->name to be NUL-terminated based on its usage with format
strings:

Moreover, NUL-padding is not required as `res` is already
zero-allocated:

Considering the above, a suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to
the fact that it guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer
without unnecessarily NUL-padding.
Let's also opt to use the more idiomatic strscpy() usage of (dest, src,
sizeof(dest)) rather than (dest, src, SOME_LEN).
Typically the pattern of 1) allocate memory for string, 2) copy string
into freshly-allocated memory is a candidate for kmemdup_nul() but in
this case we are allocating the entirety of the `res` struct and that
should stay as is. As mentioned above, simple 1:1 replacement of strncpy
-> strscpy :)

Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by
attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have
their accesses bounds-checked at run-time via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS (for
array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family
functions).
As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct nfp_eth_table.

Avoid reading link modes from management firmware every time when
`ethtool_get_link_ksettings` is called, only communicate with
management firmware when necessary like we do for eth_table info.
This change can ease the situation that when large number of vlan
sub-interfaces are created and their information is requested by
some monitoring process like PCP [1] through ethool ioctl frequently.

Add support for reporting link modes,
including `Supported link modes` and `Advertised link modes`,
via ethtool $DEV.
A new command `SPCODE_READ_MEDIA` is added to read info from
management firmware. Also, the mapping table `nfp_eth_media_table`
associates the link modes between NFP and kernel. Both of them
help to support this ability.

in management firmware, and advertise it if it's enabled.
Changing port speed is not allowed when autoneg is enabled.

The latest management firmware can now report the active FEC
mode. Adapt driver accordingly so that user can get the active
FEC mode by running command:
# ethtool --show-fec <intf>

When running `ethtool -p` with the old management firmware,
the management firmware resource is not correctly released,
which causes firmware related malfunction: all the access
to management firmware hangs.
It releases the management firmware resource when set id
mode operation is not supported.

area_cache_get() is used to distribute cache->area and set cache->id,
and if cache->id is not 0 and cache->area->kref refcount is 0, it will
release the cache->area by nfp_cpp_area_release(). area_cache_get()
set cache->id before cpp->op->area_init() and nfp_cpp_area_acquire().
But if area_init() or nfp_cpp_area_acquire() fails, the cache->id is
is already set but the refcount is not increased as expected. At this
time, calling the nfp_cpp_area_release() will cause use-after-free.
To avoid the use-after-free, set cache->id after area_init() and
nfp_cpp_area_acquire() complete successfully.
Note: This vulnerability is triggerable by providing emulated device
equipped with specified configuration.

This reverts commit 9386ebccfc59 ("nfp: update nfp_X logging definitions")
The reverted patch was intended to improve logging for the NFP driver by
including information such as the source code file and number in log
messages.
Unfortunately our experience is that this has not improved things as
we had hoped. The resulting logs are inconsistent with (most) other
kernel log messages. And rely on knowledge of the source code version
in order for the extra information to be useful.
Thus, revert the change.

48-bit DMA addressing is supported in NFP3800 HW and implemented
in NFDK firmware, so enable this feature in driver now. Note that
with this change, NFD3 firmware, which doesn't implement 48-bit
DMA, cannot be used for NFP3800 any more.
RX free list descriptor, used by both NFD3 and NFDK, is also modified
to support 48-bit DMA. That's OK because the top bits is always get
set to 0 when assigned with 40-bit address.

Historically the nfp driver has supported NFP chips with Netronome's
PCIE vendor ID. This patch extends the driver to also support NFP
chips, which at this point are assumed to be otherwise identical from
a software perspective, that have Corigine's PCIE vendor ID (0x1da8).
Also, Rename the macro definitions PCI_DEVICE_ID_NERTONEOME_NFPXXXX
to PCI_DEVICE_ID_NFPXXXX, as they are now used in conjunction with two
PCIE vendor IDs.

Historically the nfp driver has supported NFP chips with Netronome's
PCIE vendor ID. In preparation for extending the to also support NFP
chips that have Corigine's PCIE vendor ID (0x1da8) make printk statements
relating to the chip vendor neutral.
An alternate approach is to set the string based on the PCI vendor ID.
In our judgement this proved to cumbersome so we have taken this simpler
approach.
Update strings relating to the driver to use Corigine, who have taken
over maintenance of the driver.

Previously it was not possible to determine which code path was responsible
for generating a certain message after a call to the nfp_X messaging
definitions for cases of duplicate strings. We therefore modify nfp_err,
nfp_warn, nfp_info, nfp_dbg and nfp_printk to print the corresponding file
and line number where the nfp_X definition is used.

Enable binding the nfp driver to NFP3800 and NFP3803 devices.
The PCIE_SRAM offset is different for the NFP3800 device, which also
only supports a single explicit group.
Changes to Dirk's work:
* 48-bit dma addressing is not ready yet. Keep 40-bit dma addressing
for NFP3800.

NFP3800 has slightly different queue controller range bounds.
Use the static chip data instead of defines. This commit
still assumes unchanged descriptor format. Later datapath
changes will allow adjusting for descriptor accounting.

The queue controller (QCP) is accessed based on a device specific
offset. The NFP3800 device also supports more queues.
Furthermore, the NFP3800 VFs also access the QCP differently to how the
NFP6000 VFs accesses it, though still indirectly. Fortunately, we can
remove the offset all together for both VF types. This is safe for
NFP6000 VFs since the offset was effectively a wrap around and only used
for convenience to have it set the same as the NFP6000 PF.
Use nfp_dev_info to store queue controller parameters.

NFP3800 uses a different PCIe configuration to CPP expansion BAR offsets.
We don't need to differentiate between the NFP4000, NFP5000 and NFP6000
since they all use the same offsets.

In preparation for supporting new chip add a driver data structure
which will hold per-chip-version information such as register
offsets.
Plumb it through to the relevant functions (nfpcore and nfp_net).
For now only a very simple member holding chip names is added,
following commits will add more.

In line 800 (#1), nfp_cpp_area_alloc() allocates and initializes a
CPP area structure. But in line 807 (#2), when the cache is allocated
failed, this CPP area structure is not freed, which will result in
memory leak.
We can fix it by freeing the CPP area when the cache is allocated
failed (#2).

There is a regular need in the kernel to provide a way to declare having a
dynamically sized set of trailing elements in a structure. Kernel code
should always use "flexible array members"[1] for these cases. The older
style of one-element or zero-length arrays should no longer be used[2].

Since snprintf() returns the would-be-output size instead of the

Use the newly added pci_get_dsn() function for obtaining the 64-bit
Device Serial Number in the nfp6000_read_serial and
nfp_6000_get_interface functions.
pci_get_dsn() reports the Device Serial number as a u64 value created by
combining two pci_read_config_dword functions. The lower 16 bits
represent the device interface value, and the next 48 bits represent the
serial value. Use put_unaligned_be32 and put_unaligned_be16 to convert
the serial value portion into a Big Endian formatted serial u8 array.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

The PluDevice register provides the authoritative chip model/revision.
Since the model number is purely used for reporting purposes, follow
the hardware team convention of subtracting 0x10 from the PluDevice
register to obtain the chip model/revision number.

The firmware reset and loading policies can be controlled with the
combination of three hwinfo keys, 'abi_drv_reset', 'abi_drv_load_ifc'
and 'app_fw_from_flash'.
'app_fw_from_flash' defines which firmware should take precedence,
'Disk', 'Flash' or the 'Preferred' firmware. When 'Preferred'
is selected, the management firmware makes the decision on which
firmware will be loaded by comparing versions of the flash firmware
and the host supplied firmware.
'abi_drv_reset' defines when the driver should reset the firmware when
the driver is probed, either 'Disk' if firmware was found on disk,
'Always' reset or 'Never' reset. Note that the device is always reset
on driver unload if firmware was loaded when the driver was probed.
'abi_drv_load_ifc' defines a list of PF devices allowed to load FW on
the device.
Furthermore, we limit the cases to where the driver will unload firmware
again when the driver is removed to only when firmware was loaded by the
driver and only if this particular device was the only one that could
have loaded firmware. This is needed to avoid firmware being removed
while in use on multi-host platforms.

There are cases where we want to read a hwinfo entry from the NFP, and
if it doesn't exist, use a default value instead.
To support this, we must silence warning/error messages when the hwinfo
entry doesn't exist since this is a valid use case. The NSP command
structure provides the ability to silence command errors, in which case
the caller should log any command errors appropriately. Protocol errors
are unaffected by this.

Apparently there are still cards in the wild with a very old
management FW. Let's make the error message in that case
indicate more clearly that management firmware has to be
updated.

The NSP now provides the ability to read from the SFF module EEPROM.
Note that even if an error occurs, the NSP may still provide some of the
data.

The management firmware now supports being passed a bundle with
multiple components to be stored in flash at once. This makes it
easier to update all components to a known state with a single
user command, however, this also has the potential to increase
the time required to perform the update significantly.
The management firmware only updates the components out of a bundle
which are outdated, however, we need to make sure we can handle
the absolute worst case where a CPLD update can take a long time
to perform.
We set a very conservative total timeout of 900s which already
adds a contingency.

Newer versions of NSP can access host memory. Simplest access
type requires all data to be in one contiguous area. Since we
don't have the guarantee on where callers of the NSP ABI will
allocate their buffers we allocate a bounce buffer and copy
the data in and out.

NSP expresses the buffer size in MB and 4 kB blocks. For small
buffers the kB part may make a difference, so count it in.
