2023-08-02net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add ICSSG StatsMD Danish Anwar5-0/+219
Add icssg_stats.c to help dump, icssg related driver statistics. ICSSG has hardware registers for providing statistics like total rx bytes, total tx bytes, etc. These registers are of 32 bits and hence in case of 1G link, they overflows in around 32 seconds. The behaviour of these registers is such that they don't roll back to 0 after overflow but rather stay at UINT_MAX. These registers support a feature where the value written to them is subtracted from the register. This feature can be utilized to fix the overflowing of stats. This solution uses a Workqueues based solution where a function gets called before the registers overflow (every 25 seconds in 1G link, 25000 seconds in 100M link), this function saves the register values in local variables and writes the last read value to the register. 2023-08-02net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add ICSSG ethernet driverRoger Quadros4-0/+1862
This is the Ethernet driver for TI AM654 Silicon rev. 2 with the ICSSG PRU Sub-system running dual-EMAC firmware. The Programmable Real-time Unit and Industrial Communication Subsystem Gigabit (PRU_ICSSG) is a low-latency microcontroller subsystem in the TI SoCs. This subsystem is provided for the use cases like implementation of custom peripheral interfaces, offloading of tasks from the other processor cores of the SoC, etc. Every ICSSG core has two Programmable Real-Time Unit(PRUs), two auxiliary Real-Time Transfer Unit (RT_PRUs), and two Transmit Real-Time Transfer Units (TX_PRUs). Each one of these runs its own firmware. Every ICSSG core has two MII ports connect to these PRUs and also a MDIO port. The cores can run different firmwares to support different protocols and features like switch-dev, timestamping, etc. It uses System DMA to transfer and receive packets and shared memory register emulation between the firmware and driver for control and configuration. This patch adds support for basic EMAC functionality with 1Gbps and 100Mbps link speed. 10M and half duplex mode are not supported currently as they require IEP, the support for which will be added later. Support for switch-dev, timestamp, etc. will be added later by subsequent patch series. 2023-07-28net: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring4-3/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. CPSW ALE has 75 bit ALE entries which are stored within three 32 bit words. Fix the methods to handle getting/setting fields spanning up to two words. Inspired from struct flow_cls_offload :: cmd, in order for taprio to be able to report statistics (which is future work), it seems that we need to drill one step further with the ndo_setup_tc(TC_SETUP_QDISC_TAPRIO) multiplexing, and pass the command as part of the common portion of the muxed structure. Since we already have an "enable" variable in tc_taprio_qopt_offload, refactor all drivers to check for "cmd" instead of "enable", and reject every other command except "replace" and "destroy" - to be future proof. 2023-04-04net: ethernet: ti: am65-cpsw: Fix mdio cleanup in probeSiddharth Vadapalli1-2/+4
In the am65_cpsw_nuss_probe() function's cleanup path, the call to of_platform_device_destroy() for the common->mdio_dev device is invoked unconditionally. It is possible that either the MDIO node is not present in the device-tree, or the MDIO node is disabled in the device-tree. In both these cases, the MDIO device is not created, resulting in a NULL pointer dereference when the of_platform_device_destroy() function is invoked on the common->mdio_dev device on the cleanup path. Fix this by ensuring that the common->mdio_dev device exists, before attempting to invoke of_platform_device_destroy(). 2023-03-28net: ethernet: ti: am65-cpsw: enable p0 host port rx_vlan_remapGrygorii Strashko1-2/+3
By default, the tagged ingress packets to the switch from the host port P0 get internal switch priority assigned equal to the DMA CPPI channel number they came from, unless CPSW_P0_CONTROL_REG.RX_REMAP_VLAN is enabled. This causes issues with applying QoS policies and mapping packets on external port fifos, because the default configuration is vlan_aware and DMA CPPI channels are shared between all external ports. Hence enable CPSW_P0_CONTROL_REG.RX_REMAP_VLAN so packet will preserve internal switch priority assigned following the VLAN(priority) tag no matter through which DMA CPPI Channels packets enter the switch. In TI's AM62x/AM64x SoCs, successful teardown of RX DMA Channel raises an interrupt. The process of servicing this interrupt involves flushing all pending RX DMA descriptors and clearing the teardown completion marker (TDCM). The am65_cpsw_nuss_rx_packets() function invoked from the RX NAPI callback services the interrupt. Thus, it is necessary to wait for this handler to run, drain all packets and clear TDCM, before calling napi_disable() in am65_cpsw_nuss_common_stop() function post channel teardown. If napi_disable() executes before ensuring that TDCM is cleared, the TDCM remains set when the interfaces are down, resulting in an interrupt storm when the interfaces are brought up again. Since the interrupt raised to indicate the RX DMA Channel teardown is specific to the AM62x and AM64x SoCs, add a quirk for it. There are 2 classes of in-tree drivers currently: - those who act upon struct tc_taprio_sched_entry :: gate_mask as if it holds a bit mask of TXQs - those who act upon the gate_mask as if it holds a bit mask of TCs When it comes to the standard, IEEE 802.1Q-2018 does say this in the second paragraph of section 8.6.8.4 Enhancements for scheduled traffic: | A gate control list associated with each Port contains an ordered list | of gate operations. Each gate operation changes the transmission gate | state for the gate associated with each of the Port's traffic class | queues and allows associated control operations to be scheduled. In typically obtuse language, it refers to a "traffic class queue" rather than a "traffic class" or a "queue". But careful reading of 802.1Q clarifies that "traffic class" and "queue" are in fact synonymous (see 8.6.6 Queuing frames): | A queue in this context is not necessarily a single FIFO data structure. | A queue is a record of all frames of a given traffic class awaiting | transmission on a given Bridge Port. The structure of this record is not | specified. i.o.w. their definition of "queue" isn't the Linux TX queue. The gate_mask really is input into taprio via its UAPI as a mask of traffic classes, but taprio_sched_to_offload() converts it into a TXQ mask. The breakdown of drivers which handle TC_SETUP_QDISC_TAPRIO is: - hellcreek, felix, sja1105: these are DSA switches, it's not even very clear what TXQs correspond to, other than purely software constructs. Only the mqprio configuration with 8 TCs and 1 TXQ per TC makes sense. So it's fine to convert these to a gate mask per TC. - enetc: I have the hardware and can confirm that the gate mask is per TC, and affects all TXQs (BD rings) configured for that priority. - igc: in igc_save_qbv_schedule(), the gate_mask is clearly interpreted to be per-TXQ. - tsnep: Gerhard Engleder clarifies that even though this hardware supports at most 1 TXQ per TC, the TXQ indices may be different from the TC values themselves, and it is the TXQ indices that matter to this hardware. So keep it per-TXQ as well. - stmmac: I have a GMAC datasheet, and in the EST section it does specify that the gate events are per TXQ rather than per TC. - lan966x: again, this is a switch, and while not a DSA one, the way in which it implements lan966x_mqprio_add() - by only allowing num_tc == NUM_PRIO_QUEUES (8) - makes it clear to me that TXQs are a purely software construct here as well. They seem to map 1:1 with TCs. - am65_cpsw: from looking at am65_cpsw_est_set_sched_cmds(), I get the impression that the fetch_allow variable is treated like a prio_mask. This definitely sounds closer to a per-TC gate mask rather than a per-TXQ one, and TI documentation does seem to recomment an identity mapping between TCs and TXQs. However, Roger Quadros would like to do some testing before making changes, so I'm leaving this driver to operate as it did before, for now. Link with more details at the end. Based on this breakdown, we have 5 drivers with a gate mask per TC and 4 with a gate mask per TXQ. So let's make the gate mask per TXQ the opt-in and the gate mask per TC the default. The am65_cpts_release() function is registered as a devm_action in the am65_cpts_create() function in am65-cpts driver. When the am65-cpsw driver invokes am65_cpts_create(), am65_cpts_release() is added in the set of devm actions associated with the am65-cpsw driver's device. In the event of probe failure or probe deferral, the platform_drv_probe() function invokes dev_pm_domain_detach() which powers off the CPSW and the CPSW's CPTS hardware, both of which share the same power domain. Since the am65_cpts_disable() function invoked by the am65_cpts_release() function attempts to reset the CPTS hardware by writing to its registers, the CPTS hardware is assumed to be powered on at this point. However, the hardware is powered off before the devm actions are executed. Fix this by getting rid of the devm action for am65_cpts_release() and invoking it directly on the cleanup and exit paths.
