2024-05-08usb: aqc111: stop lying about skb->truesizeEric Dumazet1-5/+3
Some usb drivers try to set small skb->truesize and break core networking stacks. I replace one skb_clone() by an allocation of a fresh and small skb, to get minimally sized skbs, like we did in commit 1e2c61172342 ("net: cdc_ncm: reduce skb truesize in rx path") and 4ce62d5b2f7a ("net: usb: ax88179_178a: stop lying about skb->truesize") Fixes: 361459cd9642 ("net: usb: aqc111: Implement RX data path") Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240506135546.3641185-1-edumazet@google.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2024-05-08net: annotate writes on dev->mtu from ndo_change_mtu()Eric Dumazet1-1/+1
Simon reported that ndo_change_mtu() methods were never updated to use WRITE_ONCE(dev->mtu, new_mtu) as hinted in commit 501a90c94510 ("inet: protect against too small mtu values.") We read dev->mtu without holding RTNL in many places, with READ_ONCE() annotations. It is time to take care of ndo_change_mtu() methods to use corresponding WRITE_ONCE() Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Reported-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Closes: https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/20240505144608.GB67882@kernel.org/ Reviewed-by: Jacob Keller <jacob.e.keller@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Sabrina Dubroca <sd@queasysnail.net> Reviewed-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Acked-by: Shannon Nelson <shannon.nelson@amd.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240506102812.3025432-1-edumazet@google.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2023-11-17usb: aqc111: check packet for fixup for true limitOliver Neukum1-4/+4
If a device sends a packet that is inbetween 0 and sizeof(u64) the value passed to skb_trim() as length will wrap around ending up as some very large value. The driver will then proceed to parse the header located at that position, which will either oops or process some random value. The fix is to check against sizeof(u64) rather than 0, which the driver currently does. The issue exists since the introduction of the driver. 2022-04-06net: usb: aqc111: Fix out-of-bounds accesses in RX fixupMarcin Kozlowski1-2/+7
aqc111_rx_fixup() contains several out-of-bounds accesses that can be triggered by a malicious (or defective) USB device, in particular: - The metadata array (desc_offset..desc_offset+2*pkt_count) can be out of bounds, causing OOB reads and (on big-endian systems) OOB endianness flips. - A packet can overlap the metadata array, causing a later OOB endianness flip to corrupt data used by a cloned SKB that has already been handed off into the network stack. - A packet SKB can be constructed whose tail is far beyond its end, causing out-of-bounds heap data to be considered part of the SKB's data. Found doing variant analysis. Tested it with another driver (ax88179_178a), since I don't have a aqc111 device to test it, but the code looks very similar. 2021-10-14ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in driversJakub Kicinski1-1/+1
This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr. Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all the writes to it got through appropriate helpers. Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing. It seems like it's still better to add the const in case the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled for the build. No functional changes. 2019-05-17aqc111: cleanup mtu related logicIgor Russkikh1-4/+2
Original fix b8b277525e9d was done under impression that invalid data could be written for mtu configuration higher that 16334. But the high limit will anyway be rejected my max_mtu check in caller.
