2024-05-17nvmem: add explicit config option to read old syntax fixed OF cellsRafał Miłecki1-0/+1
[ Upstream commit 2cc3b37f5b6df8189d55d0e812d9658ce256dfec ] Binding for fixed NVMEM cells defined directly as NVMEM device subnodes has been deprecated. It has been replaced by the "fixed-layout" NVMEM layout binding. New syntax is meant to be clearer and should help avoiding imprecise bindings. NVMEM subsystem already supports the new binding. It should be a good idea to limit support for old syntax to existing drivers that actually support & use it (we can't break backward compatibility!). That way we additionally encourage new bindings & drivers to ignore deprecated binding. It wasn't clear (to me) if rtc and w1 code actually uses old syntax fixed cells. I enabled them to don't risk any breakage. 2023-08-23nvmem: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-1/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-02-06nvmem: qcom-spmi-sdam: register at device init timeJohan Hovold1-12/+1
There are currently no in-tree users of the Qualcomm SDAM nvmem driver and there is generally no point in registering a driver that can be built as a module at subsys init time. Register the driver at the normal device init time instead and let driver core sort out the probe order. "sdam->pdev" is uninitialized and it is used to print error logs. Fix it. Since device pointer can be used from sdam_config, use it directly thereby removing pdev pointer. Using pdev->id as the nvmem's config ID (which, by default, is NVMEM_DEVID_NONE) prevents multiple instances of this driver from probing because of the following error: sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/bus/nvmem/devices/spmi_sdam' Use NVMEM_DEVID_AUTO as the NVMEM config ID to fix the issue. QTI SDAM driver allows PMIC peripherals to access the shared memory that is available on QTI PMICs. Use subsys_initcall as PMIC SDAM NV memory is accessed by multiple PMIC drivers (charger, fuel gauge) to store/restore data across reboots required during their initialization.
