2022-06-27spi: sh: Switch to using core message queueMark Brown1-66/+28
We deprecated open coding of the transfer queue back in 2017 so it's high time we finished up converting drivers to use the standard message queue code. The SH driver is fairly straightforward so convert to use transfer_one_message(), it looks like the driver would be a good fit for transfer_one() with a little bit of updating but this smaller change seems safer. I'm not actually clear how the driver worked robustly previously, it clears SSA and CR1 when queueing a transfer which looks like it would interfere with any running transfer. This clearing has been moved to the start of the message transfer function. I'm also unclear how exactly the chip select is managed with this driver. 2021-03-12spi: spi-sh: replace 'delay_usecs' with 'delay.value' in pr_debugAlexandru Ardelean1-2/+2
The 'delay_usecs' field is going away. The replacement for it is the 'delay' field. So, we should print the 'delay.value' value instead. 2020-12-07spi: spi-sh: Fix use-after-free on unbindLukas Wunner1-9/+4
spi_sh_remove() accesses the driver's private data after calling spi_unregister_master() even though that function releases the last reference on the spi_master and thereby frees the private data. Fix by switching over to the new devm_spi_alloc_master() helper which keeps the private data accessible until the driver has unbound. 2019-08-02spi: Remove dev_err() usage after platform_get_irq()Stephen Boyd1-3/+1
We don't need dev_err() messages when platform_get_irq() fails now that platform_get_irq() prints an error message itself when something goes wrong. Let's remove these prints with a simple semantic patch. // <smpl> @@ expression ret; struct platform_device *E; @@ ret = ( platform_get_irq(E, ...) | platform_get_irq_byname(E, ...) ); if ( \( ret < 0 \| ret <= 0 \) ) { ( -if (ret != -EPROBE_DEFER) -{ ... -dev_err(...); -... } | ... -dev_err(...); ) ... } // </smpl> While we're here, remove braces on if statements that only have one statement (manually). 2017-08-09spi: spi-sh: fix error return code in spi_sh_probe()Gustavo A. R. Silva1-2/+2
platform_get_irq() returns an error code, but the spi-sh driver ignores it and always returns -ENODEV. This is not correct and, prevents -EPROBE_DEFER from being propagated properly. Print and propagate the return value of platform_get_irq on failure. This issue was detected with the help of Coccinelle. Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. R. 2016-07-11spi: spi-sh: Remove deprecated create_singlethread_workqueueBhaktipriya Shridhar1-13/+3
The workqueue has a single workitem(&ss->ws) and hence doesn't require ordering. Also, it is not being used on a memory reclaim path. Hence, the singlethreaded workqueue has been replaced with the use of system_wq. System workqueues have been able to handle high level of concurrency for a long time now and hence it's not required to have a singlethreaded workqueue just to gain concurrency. Unlike a dedicated per-cpu workqueue created with create_singlethread_workqueue(), system_wq allows multiple work items to overlap executions even on the same CPU; however, a per-cpu workqueue doesn't have any CPU locality or global ordering guarantee unless the target CPU is explicitly specified and thus the increase of local concurrency shouldn't make any difference. Work item has been flushed in spi_sh_remove() to ensure that there are no pending tasks while disconnecting the driver. 2012-03-08spi/spi-sh: add IORESOURCE_MEM_TYPE_MASK decoding for access sizeShimoda, Yoshihiro1-2/+23

2011-06-06spi: reorganize driversGrant Likely1-0/+543
Sort the SPI makefile and enforce the naming convention spi_*.c for spi drivers. This change also rolls the contents of atmel_spi.h into the .c file since there is only one user of that particular include file. v2: - Use 'spi-' prefix instead of 'spi_' to match what seems to be be the predominant pattern for subsystem prefixes. - Clean up filenames in Kconfig and header comment blocks Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de> Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
