2021-03-10staging: sm750fb: added identifier names for function declarationsshivang upadhyay1-12/+17
checkpatch.pl complains about not having identifiers names in function declarations . This patch uses the same names as are used in source file sm750_accel.c , but with snake case. 2021-02-04staging: sm750fb: Switch from strlcpy to strscpyKumar Kartikeya Dwivedi1-1/+1
strlcpy is marked as deprecated in Documentation/process/deprecated.rst, and there is no functional difference when the caller expects truncation (when not checking the return value). strscpy is relatively better as it also avoids scanning the whole source string. This silences the related checkpatch warnings from: 5dbdb2d87c29 ("checkpatch: prefer strscpy to strlcpy") Signed-off-by: Kumar Kartikeya Dwivedi <memxor@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210131172838.146706-13-memxor@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2020-07-29staging: sm750fb: use generic power managementVaibhav Gupta1-74/+17
Drivers using legacy power management .suspen()/.resume() callbacks have to manage PCI states and device's PM states themselves. They also need to take care of standard configuration registers. Switch to generic power management framework using a single "struct dev_pm_ops" variable to take the unnecessary load from the driver. This also avoids the need for the driver to directly call most of the PCI helper functions and device power state control functions, as through the generic framework PCI Core takes care of the necessary operations, and drivers are required to do only device-specific jobs. 2019-06-14docs: kbuild: convert docs to ReST and rename to *.rstMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
The kbuild documentation clearly shows that the documents there are written at different times: some use markdown, some use their own peculiar logic to split sections. Convert everything to ReST without affecting too much the author's style and avoiding adding uneeded markups. The conversion is actually: - add blank lines and identation in order to identify paragraphs; - fix tables markups; - add some lists markups; - mark literal blocks; - adjust title markups. At its new index.rst, let's add a :orphan: while this is not linked to the main index.rst file, in order to avoid build warnings. Lots and lots of little changes, almost all minor code cleanups as the Outreachy application process happened during this development cycle. Also happened was a lot of IIO driver activity, and the typec USB code moving out of staging to drivers/usb (same commits are in the USB tree on a persistent branch to not cause merge issues.)
