2020-05-29comedi: get rid of compat_alloc_user_space() mess in COMEDI_INSN compatAl Viro1-27/+47
Just take copy_from_user() out of do_insn_ioctl() into the caller and have compat_insn() build a native version and pass it to do_insn_ioctl() directly. One difference from the previous commits is that the helper used to convert 32bit variant to native has two users - compat_insn() and compat_insnlist(). The latter will be converted in next commit; for now we simply split the helper in two variants - "userland 32bit to kernel native" and "userland 32bit to userland native". 2020-04-11mm/vma: introduce VM_ACCESS_FLAGSAnshuman Khandual1-1/+1
There are many places where all basic VMA access flags (read, write, exec) are initialized or checked against as a group. One such example is during page fault. Existing vma_is_accessible() wrapper already creates the notion of VMA accessibility as a group access permissions. Hence lets just create VM_ACCESS_FLAGS (VM_READ|VM_WRITE|VM_EXEC) which will not only reduce code duplication but also extend the VMA accessibility concept in general. 2020-03-31staging/octeon: fix up merge errorRandy Dunlap1-1/+1
There's a semantic conflict in the Octeon staging network driver, which used the skb_reset_tc() function to reset skb state when re-using an skb. But that inline helper function was removed in mainline by commit 2c64605b590e ("net: Fix CONFIG_NET_CLS_ACT=n and CONFIG_NFT_FWD_NETDEV={y, m} build"). Fix it by using skb_reset_redirect() instead. Also move it out of the This code path only ends up triggering if REUSE_SKBUFFS_WITHOUT_FREE is enabled, which in turn only happens if you don't have CONFIG_NETFILTER configured. Which was how this wasn't caught by the usual allmodconfig builds. The code in lib/ is the desired polynomial, and even includes the 1-bit left shift in the table rather than needing to code it explicitly. While I'm in Kconfig, add a description of what a WILC1000 is. Kconfig questions that require me to look up a data sheet to find out that I probably don't have one are a pet peeve.
