[ Upstream commit ba883de971d1ad018f3083d9195b8abe54d87407 ] This function only calls mtk_otg_switch_init() when the ->port_mode is MUSB_OTG so the clean up code should only call mtk_otg_switch_exit() for that mode. 2023-01-17usb: musb: fix error return code in omap2430_probe()Yang Yingliang1-1/+3
Before calling platform_get_resource() in omap2430_probe(), the 'ret' is re-assgined to 0, it can't return an error code, if platform_get_resource fails. Set the error code to -EINVAL to fix this. 2022-12-08usb: musb: remove extra check in musb_gadget_vbus_drawIvaylo Dimitrov1-2/+0
The checks for musb->xceiv and musb->xceiv->set_power duplicate those in usb_phy_set_power(), so there is no need of them. Moreover, not calling usb_phy_set_power() results in usb_phy_set_charger_current() not being called, so current USB config max current is not propagated through USB charger framework and charger drivers may try to draw more current than allowed or possible. Fix that by removing those extra checks and calling usb_phy_set_power() directly. 2022-11-29usb: musb: Drop old unused am35x glue layerTony Lindgren3-616/+0
The am35x glue layer is no longer in use and can be dropped. There are no longer any SoCs passing platform data for it as they are booting using devicetree. In general, the am35x SoCs are similar to am335x and ti81xx and can use the musb_dsps glue layer as long as there is a proper phy driver available. 2022-11-22usb: musb: omap2430: Fix probe regression for missing resourcesTony Lindgren1-0/+54
Probe for omap2430 glue layer is now broken for interrupt resources in all cases. Commit 239071064732 ("partially Revert "usb: musb: Set the DT node on the child device"") broke probing for SoCs using ti-sysc interconnect target module as the dt node is not found. Commit a1a2b7125e10 ("of/platform: Drop static setup of IRQ resource from DT core") caused omap3 to fail with error "-ENXIO: IRQ mc not found" as the IRQ resources are no longer automatically populated from devicetree. Let's fix the issues by calling device_set_of_node_from_dev() only if the SoC has been updated to probe with ti-sysc. And for legacy SoCs, let's populate the resources manually as needed. Note that once we have updated the SoCs to probe with proper devicetree data in all cases, this is no longer needed. But doing that requires patching both devicetree and SoC code, so let's fix the probe issues first. 2022-08-18musb: fix USB_MUSB_TUSB6010 dependencyArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Turning on NOP_USB_XCEIV as builtin broke the TUSB6010 driver because of an older issue with the depencency. It is not necessary to forbid NOP_USB_XCEIV=y in combination with USB_MUSB_HDRC=m, but only the reverse, which causes the link failure from the original Kconfig change. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rostedt/linux-trace Pull tracing updates from Steven Rostedt: - Runtime verification infrastructure This is the biggest change here. It introduces the runtime verification that is necessary for running Linux on safety critical systems. It allows for deterministic automata models to be inserted into the kernel that will attach to tracepoints, where the information on these tracepoints will move the model from state to state. If a state is encountered that does not belong to the model, it will then activate a given reactor, that could just inform the user or even panic the kernel (for which safety critical systems will detect and can recover from). - Two monitor models are also added: Wakeup In Preemptive (WIP - not to be confused with "work in progress"), and Wakeup While Not Running (WWNR). - Added __vstring() helper to the TRACE_EVENT() macro to replace several vsnprintf() usages that were all doing it wrong. - eprobes now can have their event autogenerated when the event name is left off. - The rest is various cleanups and fixes. * tag 'trace-v6.0' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rostedt/linux-trace: (50 commits) rv: Unlock on error path in rv_unregister_reactor() tracing: Use alignof__(struct {type b;}) instead of offsetof() tracing/eprobe: Show syntax error logs in error_log file scripts/tracing: Fix typo 'the the' in comment tracepoints: It is CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS not CONFIG_TRACEPOINT tracing: Use free_trace_buffer() in allocate_trace_buffers() tracing: Use a struct alignof to determine trace event field alignment rv/reactor: Add the panic reactor rv/reactor: Add the printk reactor rv/monitor: Add the wwnr monitor rv/monitor: Add the wip monitor rv/monitor: Add the wip monitor skeleton created by dot2k Documentation/rv: Add deterministic automata instrumentation documentation Documentation/rv: Add deterministic automata monitor synthesis documentation tools/rv: Add dot2k Documentation/rv: Add deterministic automaton documentation tools/rv: Add dot2c Documentation/rv: Add a basic documentation rv/include: Add instrumentation helper functions rv/include: Add deterministic automata monitor definition via C macros ...

2021-12-21usb: musb: dsps: Use platform_get_irq_byname() to get the interruptLad Prabhakar1-6/+9
platform_get_resource_byname(pdev, IORESOURCE_IRQ, ..) relies on static allocation of IRQ resources in DT core code, this causes an issue when using hierarchical interrupt domains using "interrupts" property in the node as this bypasses the hierarchical setup and messes up the irq chaining. In preparation for removal of static setup of IRQ resource from DT core code use platform_get_irq_byname(). musb_gadget_queue() adds the passed request to musb_ep::req_list. If the endpoint is idle and it is the first request then it invokes musb_queue_resume_work(). If the function returns an error then the error is passed to the caller without any clean-up and the request remains enqueued on the list. If the caller enqueues the request again then the list corrupts. Remove the request from the list on error. 2021-10-13usb: musb: dsps: Fix the probe error pathMiquel Raynal1-1/+3
Commit 7c75bde329d7 ("usb: musb: musb_dsps: request_irq() after initializing musb") has inverted the calls to dsps_setup_optional_vbus_irq() and dsps_create_musb_pdev() without updating correctly the error path. dsps_create_musb_pdev() allocates and registers a new platform device which must be unregistered and freed with platform_device_unregister(), and this is missing upon dsps_setup_optional_vbus_irq() error. While on the master branch it seems not to trigger any issue, I observed a kernel crash because of a NULL pointer dereference with a v5.10.70 stable kernel where the patch mentioned above was backported. With this kernel version, -EPROBE_DEFER is returned the first time dsps_setup_optional_vbus_irq() is called which triggers the probe to error out without unregistering the platform device. Unfortunately, on the Beagle Bone Black Wireless, the platform device still living in the system is being used by the USB Ethernet gadget driver, which during the boot phase triggers the crash. My limited knowledge of the musb world prevents me to revert this commit which was sent to silence a robot warning which, as far as I understand, does not make sense. The goal of this patch was to prevent an IRQ to fire before the platform device being registered. I think this cannot ever happen due to the fact that enabling the interrupts is done by the ->enable() callback of the platform musb device, and this platform device must be already registered in order for the core or any other user to use this callback. Hence, I decided to fix the error path, which might prevent future errors on mainline kernels while also fixing older ones. The devctl register on musb is the only way to get state information on musb. The hardware can easily get confused because it tries to do things on it's own automagically, and things like slow VBUS rise can make things fail. Let's make it easier to debug the ongoing state change issues that keep popping up on regular basis and add tracing support. With these changes we can easily trace musb state change events with: echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/musb/musb_state/enable cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace_pipe echo 0 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/musb/musb_state/enable Cc: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Cc: Andreas Kemnade <andreas@kemnade.info> Cc: Bhushan Shah <bshah@kde.org> Cc: Drew Fustini <drew@beagleboard.org> Cc: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210604080536.12185-2-tony@atomide.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

In commit 92af4fc6ec33 ("usb: musb: Fix suspend with devices connected for a64"), the logic to support the MUSB_QUIRK_B_DISCONNECT_99 quirk was modified to only conditionally schedule the musb->irq_work delayed work. This commit badly breaks ECM Gadget on AM335X. Indeed, with this commit, one can observe massive packet loss: $ ping 192.168.0.100 ... 15 packets transmitted, 3 received, 80% packet loss, time 14316ms Reverting this commit brings back a properly functioning ECM Gadget. An analysis of the commit seems to indicate that a mistake was made: the previous code was not falling through into the MUSB_QUIRK_B_INVALID_VBUS_91, but now it is, unless the condition is taken. Changing the logic to be as it was before the problematic commit *and* only conditionally scheduling musb->irq_work resolves the regression: $ ping 192.168.0.100 ... 64 packets transmitted, 64 received, 0% packet loss, time 64475ms Fixes: 92af4fc6ec33 ("usb: musb: Fix suspend with devices connected for a64") Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Tested-by: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Tested-by: Drew Fustini <drew@beagleboard.org> Acked-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210528140446.278076-1-thomas.petazzoni@bootlin.com Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
