2023-02-12watchdog: meson_gxbb: Use devm_clk_get_enabled() helperChristophe JAILLET1-15/+1
The devm_clk_get_enabled() helper: - calls devm_clk_get() - calls clk_prepare_enable() and registers what is needed in order to call clk_disable_unprepare() when needed, as a managed resource. This simplifies the code and avoids the need of a dedicated function used with devm_add_action_or_reset(). 2022-10-02watchdog: meson: keep running if already activePhilippe Boos1-5/+19
If the watchdog is already running (e.g.: started by bootloader) then the kernel driver should keep the watchdog active but the amlogic driver turns it off. Let the driver fix the clock rate if already active because we do not know the previous timebase value. To avoid unintentional resetting we temporarily set it to its maximum value. Then keep the enable bit if is was previously active. 2021-12-28watchdog: meson_gxbb_wdt: remove stop_on_rebootArtem Lapkin1-1/+0
Remove watchdog_stop_on_reboot() The Meson platform still has some hardware drivers problems for some configurations which can freeze devices on shutdown/reboot. Remove watchdog_stop_on_reboot() to catch this situation and ensure that the reboot happens anyway. Users who still want to stop the watchdog on reboot can still do so using the watchdog.stop_on_reboot=1 module parameter. https://lore.kernel.org/linux-watchdog/20210729072308.1908904-1-art@khadas.com/T/#t Signed-off-by: Artem Lapkin <art@khadas.com> Reviewed-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20211110022518.1676834-1-art@khadas.com Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@linux-watchdog.org>

2019-11-05watchdog: meson: Fix the wrong value of left timeXingyu Chen1-2/+2
The left time value is wrong when we get it by sysfs. The left time value should be equal to preset timeout value minus elapsed time value. According to the Meson-GXB/GXL datasheets which can be found at [0], the timeout value is saved to BIT[0-15] of the WATCHDOG_TCNT, and elapsed time value is saved to BIT[16-31] of the WATCHDOG_TCNT. improvements Use device managed functions to simplify error handling, reduce source code size, improve readability, and reduce the likelyhood of bugs. Other improvements as listed below. The conversion was done automatically with coccinelle using the following semantic patches. The semantic patches and the scripts used to generate this commit log are available at https://github.com/groeck/coccinelle-patches - Drop assignments to otherwise unused variables - Drop unnecessary braces around conditional return statements - Drop empty remove function - Use devm_add_action_or_reset() for calls to clk_disable_unprepare - Introduce local variable 'struct device *dev' and use it instead of dereferencing it repeatedly - Use devm_watchdog_register_driver() to register watchdog device - Replace shutdown function with call to watchdog_stop_on_reboot() Cc: Kevin Hilman <khilman@baylibre.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> Signed-off-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@linux-watchdog.org>
