In gs_usb_disconnect(), all channels are destroyed first, then all
anchored RX URBs (parent->rx_submitted) are disposed with
usb_kill_anchored_urbs().
The call to usb_kill_anchored_urbs() is not needed, as
gs_destroy_candev() of the last active channel already disposes the RX
URBS.
Remove not needed call to usb_kill_anchored_urbs() from
gs_usb_disconnect().

ndo_stop
When the USB device is unplugged, gs_can_close() (which implements the
struct net_device_ops::ndo_stop callback) is called. In this function
an attempt is made to shut down the USB device with a USB control
message. For disconnected devices this will fail and a warning message
is printed.
Silence the driver by removing the printout of the error message if
the reset command fails.

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they

generally. Let's use the max for clk_ptp_ref to ensure the best

Old firmware versions could only read up to 48 bytes from a transceiver
module's EEPROM in one go. Newer versions can read up to 128 bytes,
resulting in fewer transactions.
Query support for the new capability during driver initialization and if
supported, read up to 128 bytes in one go.

MCAM register reports the device supported management features. Querying
this register exposes if features are supported with the current
firmware version in the current ASIC. Then, the driver can separate
between different implementations dynamically.
MCAM register supports querying whether the MCIA register supports 128
bytes payloads or only 48 bytes. Add support for the register as
preparation for allowing larger MCIA transactions.
Note that the access to the bits in the field 'mng_feature_cap_mask' is
not same to other mask fields in other registers. In most of the cases
bit #0 is the first one in the last dword, in MCAM register, bits #0-#31
are in the first dword and so on. Declare the mask field using bits
arrays per dword to simplify the access.

Microchip LAN8740/LAN8742 PHYs support basic unicast, broadcast, and
Magic Packet WoL. They have one pattern filter matching up to 128 bytes
of frame data, which can be used to implement ARP or multicast WoL.
ARP WoL matches any ARP frame with broadcast address.
Multicast WoL matches any multicast frame.

According to the clarification [1] in the latest napi.rst, the tx
processing cannot call any XDP (or page pool) APIs if the "budget"
is 0. Because NAPI is called with the budget of 0 (such as netpoll)
indicates we may be in an IRQ context, however, we cannot use the
page pool from IRQ context.

The Xeon validation group has been carrying out some loaded tests
with various HW configurations, and they have seen some transmit
queue time out happening during the test. This will cause the
reset adapter function to be called by igc_tx_timeout().
Similar race conditions may arise when the interface is being brought
down and up in igc_reinit_locked(), an interrupt being generated, and
igc_clean_tx_irq() being called to complete the TX.
When the igc_tx_timeout() function is invoked, this patch will turn
off all TX ring HW queues during igc_down() process. TX ring HW queues
will be activated again during the igc_configure_tx_ring() process
when performing the igc_up() procedure later.
This patch also moved existing igc_disable_tx_ring_hw() to avoid using
forward declaration.

The qca8k switch doesn't support using 0 as VID and require a default
VID to be always set. MDB add/del function doesn't currently handle
this and are currently setting the default VID.
Fix this by correctly handling this corner case and internally use the
default VID for VID 0 case.

On deleting an MDB entry for a port, fdb_search_and_del is used.
An FDB entry can't be modified so it needs to be deleted and readded
again with the new portmap (and the port deleted as requested)
We use the SEARCH operator to search the entry to edit by vid and mac
address and then we check the aging if we actually found an entry.
Currently the code suffer from a bug where the searched fdb entry is
never read again with the found values (if found) resulting in the code
always returning -EINVAL as aging was always 0.
Fix this by correctly read the fdb entry after it was searched.

On inserting a mdb entry, fdb_search_and_insert is used to add a port to
the qca8k target entry in the FDB db.
A FDB entry can't be modified so it needs to be removed and insert again
with the new values.
To detect if an entry already exist, the SEARCH operation is used and we
check the aging of the entry. If the entry is not 0, the entry exist and
we proceed to delete it.
Current code have 2 main problem:
- The condition to check if the FDB entry exist is wrong and should be
the opposite.
- When a FDB entry doesn't exist, aging was never actually set to the
STATIC value resulting in allocating an invalid entry.
Fix both problem by adding aging support to the function, calling the
function with STATIC as aging by default and finally by correct the
condition to check if the entry actually exist.

The qca8xxx switch supports 2 way to write reg values, a slow way using
mdio and a fast way by sending specially crafted mgmt packet to
read/write reg.
The fast way can support up to 32 bytes of data as eth packet are used
to send/receive.
This correctly works for almost the entire regmap of the switch but with
the use of some kernel selftests for dsa drivers it was found a funny
and interesting hw defect/limitation.
For some specific reg, bulk write won't work and will result in writing
only part of the requested regs resulting in half data written. This was
especially hard to track and discover due to the total strangeness of
the problem and also by the specific regs where this occurs.
This occurs in the specific regs of the ATU table, where multiple entry
needs to be written to compose the entire entry.
It was discovered that with a bulk write of 12 bytes on
QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA0 only QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA0 and QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA2
were written, but QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA1 was always zero.
Tcpdump was used to make sure the specially crafted packet was correct
and this was confirmed.
The problem was hard to track as the lack of QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA1
resulted in an entry somehow possible as the first bytes of the mac
address are set in QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA0 and the entry type is set in
QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA2.
Funlly enough writing QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA1 results in the same problem
with QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA2 empty and QCA8K_REG_ATU_DATA1 and
QCA8K_REG_ATU_FUNC correctly written.
A speculation on the problem might be that there are some kind of
indirection internally when accessing these regs and they can't be
accessed all together, due to the fact that it's really a table mapped
somewhere in the switch SRAM.
Even more funny is the fact that every other reg was tested with all
kind of combination and they are not affected by this problem. Read
operation was also tested and always worked so it's not affected by this
problem.
The problem is not present if we limit writing a single reg at times.
To handle this hardware defect, enable use_single_write so that bulk
api can correctly split the write in multiple different operation
effectively reverting to a non-bulk write.

Tony Nguyen says:
====================
ice: switchdev bridge offload
Wojciech Drewek says:
Linux bridge provides ability to learn MAC addresses and vlans
detected on bridge's ports. As a result of this, FDB (forward data base)
entries are created and they can be offloaded to the HW. By adding
VF's port representors to the bridge together with the uplink netdev,
we can learn VF's and link partner's MAC addresses. This is achieved
by slow/exception-path, where packets that do not match any filters
(FDB entries in this case) are send to the bridge ports.
Driver keeps track of the netdevs added to the bridge
by listening for NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER event. We distinguish two types
of bridge ports: uplink port and VF's representor port. Linux
bridge always learns src MAC of the packet on rx path. With the
current slow-path implementation, it means that we will learn
VF's MAC on port repr (when the VF transmits the packet) and
link partner's MAC on uplink (when we receive it on uplink from LAN).
The driver is notified about learning of the MAC/VLAN by
SWITCHDEV_FDB_{ADD|DEL}_TO_DEVICE events. This is followed by creation
of the HW filter. The direction of the filter is based on port
type (uplink or VF repr). In case of the uplink, rule forwards
the packets to the LAN (matching on link partner's MAC). When the
notification is received on VF repr then the rule forwards the
packets to the associated VF (matching on VF's MAC).
This approach would not work on its own however. This is because if
one of the directions is offloaded, then the bridge would not be able
to learn the other one. If the egress rule is added (learned on uplink)
then the response from the VF will be sent directly to the LAN.
The packet will not got through slow-path, it would not be seen on
VF's port repr. Because of that, the bridge would not learn VF's MAC.
This is solved by introducing guard rule. It prevents forward rule from
working until the opposite direction is offloaded.
Aging is not fully supported yet, aging time is static for now. The
follow up submissions will introduce counters that will allow us to
keep track if the rule is actually being used or not.
A few fixes/changes are needed for this feature to work with ice driver.
These are introduced in first 5 patches.
