2015-12-09replace ->follow_link() with new method that could stay in RCU modeAl Viro1-2/+2
new method: ->get_link(); replacement of ->follow_link(). The differences are: * inode and dentry are passed separately * might be called both in RCU and non-RCU mode; the former is indicated by passing it a NULL dentry. * when called that way it isn't allowed to block and should return ERR_PTR(-ECHILD) if it needs to be called in non-RCU mode. It's a flagday change - the old method is gone, all in-tree instances converted. Conversion isn't hard; said that, so far very few instances do not immediately bail out when called in RCU mode. That'll change in the next commits. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>

2010-04-16jfs: add jfs specific ->setattr callDmitry Monakhov1-1/+13
generic setattr not longer responsible for quota transfer. use jfs_setattr for all jfs's inodes. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Monakhov <dmonakhov@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: Dave Kleikamp <shaggy@linux.vnet.ibm.com>
2007-02-12[PATCH] mark struct inode_operations const 2Arjan van de Ven1-1/+1
Many struct inode_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
