2011-08-13xfs: remove subdirectoriesChristoph Hellwig1-176/+0
Use the move from Linux 2.6 to Linux 3.x as an excuse to kill the annoying subdirectories in the XFS source code. Besides the large amount of file rename the only changes are to the Makefile, a few files including headers with the subdirectory prefix, and the binary sysctl compat code that includes a header under fs/xfs/ from kernel/. 2010-10-19xfs: Extend project quotas to support 32bit project idsArkadiusz Mi?kiewicz1-1/+1
This patch adds support for 32bit project quota identifiers. On disk format is backward compatible with 16bit projid numbers. projid on disk is now kept in two 16bit values - di_projid_lo (which holds the same position as old 16bit projid value) and new di_projid_hi (takes existing padding) and converts from/to 32bit value on the fly. xfs_admin (for existing fs), mkfs.xfs (for new fs) needs to be used to enable PROJID32BIT support. 2010-07-26xfs: drop dmapi hooksChristoph Hellwig1-1/+0
Dmapi support was never merged upstream, but we still have a lot of hooks bloating XFS for it, all over the fast pathes of the filesystem. This patch drops over 700 lines of dmapi overhead. If we'll ever get HSM support in mainline at least the namespace events can be done much saner in the VFS instead of the individual filesystem, so it's not like this is much help for future work. 2010-01-22xfs: quota limit statvfs available blocksChristoph Hellwig1-1/+1
A "df" run on an NFS client of an exported XFS file system reports the wrong information for "available" blocks. When a block quota is enforced, the amount reported as free is limited by the quota, but the amount reported available is not (and should be). 2009-06-10xfs: use generic Posix ACL codeChristoph Hellwig1-1/+0
This patch rips out the XFS ACL handling code and uses the generic fs/posix_acl.c code instead. The ondisk format is of course left unchanged. This also introduces the same ACL caching all other Linux filesystems do by adding pointers to the acl and default acl in struct xfs_inode. 2009-06-08xfs: kill xfs_qmopsChristoph Hellwig1-73/+3
Kill the quota ops function vector and replace it with direct calls or stubs in the CONFIG_XFS_QUOTA=n case. Make sure we check XFS_IS_QUOTA_RUNNING in the right spots. We can remove the number of those checks because the XFS_TRANS_DQ_DIRTY flag can't be set otherwise. This brings us back closer to the way this code worked in IRIX and earlier Linux versions, but we keep a lot of the more useful factoring of common code. Eventually we should also kill xfs_qm_bhv.c, but that's left for a later patch. Reduces the size of the source code by about 250 lines and the size of XFS module by about 1.5 kilobytes with quotas enabled: text data bss dec hex filename 615957 2960 3848 622765 980ad fs/xfs/xfs.o 617231 3152 3848 624231 98667 fs/xfs/xfs.o.old Fallout: - xfs_qm_dqattach is split into xfs_qm_dqattach_locked which expects the inode locked and xfs_qm_dqattach which does the locking around it, thus removing XFS_QMOPT_ILOCKED. 2008-10-30[XFS] kill struct xfs_mount_argsChristoph Hellwig1-1/+0
No need to parse the mount option into a structure before applying it to struct xfs_mount. The content of xfs_start_flags gets merged into xfs_parseargs. Calls inbetween don't care and can use mount members instead of the args struct. This patch uncovered that the mount option for shared filesystems wasn't ever exposed on Linux. The code to handle it is #if 0'ed in this patch pending a decision on this feature. I'll send a writeup about it to the list soon. 2007-02-10[XFS] Remove unused header files for MAC and CAP checking functionality.Eric Sandeen1-2/+0
xfs_mac.h and xfs_cap.h provide definitions and macros that aren't used anywhere in XFS at all. They are left-overs from "to be implement at some point in the future" functionality that Irix XFS has. If this functionality ever goes into Linux, it will be provided at a different layer, most likely through the security hooks in the kernel so we will never need this functionality in XFS. 2007-02-10[XFS] Keep stack usage down for 4k stacks by using noinline.David Chinner1-1/+1
gcc-4.1 and more recent aggressively inline static functions which increases XFS stack usage by ~15% in critical paths. Prevent this from occurring by adding noinline to the STATIC definition. Also uninline some functions that are too large to be inlined and were causing problems with CONFIG_FORCED_INLINING=y. Finally, clean up all the different users of inline, __inline and __inline__ and put them under one STATIC_INLINE macro. For debug kernels the STATIC_INLINE macro uninlines those functions. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
