2012-05-16net: delete all instances of special processing for token ringPaul Gortmaker1-7/+0
We are going to delete the Token ring support. This removes any special processing in the core networking for token ring, (aside from net/tr.c itself), leaving the drivers and remaining tokenring support present but inert. The mass removal of the drivers and net/tr.c will be in a separate commit, so that the history of these files that we still care about won't have the giant deletion tied into their history. 2011-05-13bonding,llc: Fix structure sizeof incompatibility for some PDUsVitalii Demianets1-4/+4
With some combinations of arch/compiler (e.g. arm-linux-gcc) the sizeof operator on structure returns value greater than expected. In cases when the structure is used for mapping PDU fields it may lead to unexpected results (such as holes and alignment problems in skb data). __packed prevents this undesired behavior. 2008-04-01[LLC]: skb allocation size for responsesJoonwoo Park1-2/+2
Allocate the skb for llc responses with the received packet size by using the size adjustable llc_frame_alloc. Don't allocate useless extra payload. Cleanup magic numbers. So, this fixes oops. 2007-04-26[SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_network_header()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-2/+2
For the places where we need a pointer to the network header, it is still legal to touch skb->nh.raw directly if just adding to, subtracting from or setting it to another layer header. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-04-26[SK_BUFF]: Introduce skb_reset_network_header(skb)Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo1-1/+1
For the common, open coded 'skb->nh.raw = skb->data' operation, so that we can later turn skb->nh.raw into a offset, reducing the size of struct sk_buff in 64bit land while possibly keeping it as a pointer on 32bit. This one touches just the most simple case, next will handle the slightly more "complex" cases. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
