2023-05-31autofs: use flexible array in ioctl structureArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Commit df8fc4e934c1 ("kbuild: Enable -fstrict-flex-arrays=3") introduced a warning for the autofs_dev_ioctl structure: In function 'check_name', inlined from 'validate_dev_ioctl' at fs/autofs/dev-ioctl.c:131:9, inlined from '_autofs_dev_ioctl' at fs/autofs/dev-ioctl.c:624:8: fs/autofs/dev-ioctl.c:33:14: error: 'strchr' reading 1 or more bytes from a region of size 0 [-Werror=stringop-overread] 33 | if (!strchr(name, '/')) | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In file included from include/linux/auto_dev-ioctl.h:10, from fs/autofs/autofs_i.h:10, from fs/autofs/dev-ioctl.c:14: include/uapi/linux/auto_dev-ioctl.h: In function '_autofs_dev_ioctl': include/uapi/linux/auto_dev-ioctl.h:112:14: note: source object 'path' of size 0 112 | char path[0]; | ^~~~ This is easily fixed by changing the gnu 0-length array into a c99 flexible array. Since this is a uapi structure, we have to be careful about possible regressions but this one should be fine as they are equivalent here. While it would break building with ancient gcc versions that predate c99, it helps building with --std=c99 and -Wpedantic builds in user space, as well as non-gnu compilers. This means we probably also want it fixed in stable kernels. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Cc: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Cc: Gustavo A. R. 2017-11-02License cleanup: add SPDX license identifier to uapi header files with a licenseGreg Kroah-Hartman1-0/+1
Many user space API headers have licensing information, which is either incomplete, badly formatted or just a shorthand for referring to the license under which the file is supposed to be. This makes it hard for compliance tools to determine the correct license. Update these files with an SPDX license identifier. The identifier was chosen based on the license information in the file. GPL/LGPL licensed headers get the matching GPL/LGPL SPDX license identifier with the added 'WITH Linux-syscall-note' exception, which is the officially assigned exception identifier for the kernel syscall exception: NOTE! This copyright does *not* cover user programs that use kernel services by normal system calls - this is merely considered normal use of the kernel, and does *not* fall under the heading of "derived work". This exception makes it possible to include GPL headers into non GPL code, without confusing license compliance tools. Headers which have either explicit dual licensing or are just licensed under a non GPL license are updated with the corresponding SPDX identifier and the GPLv2 with syscall exception identifier. The format is: ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR SPDX-ID-OF-OTHER-LICENSE) SPDX license identifiers are a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. The update does not remove existing license information as this has to be done on a case by case basis and the copyright holders might have to be consulted. This will happen in a separate step. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. See the previous patch in this series for the methodology of how this patch was researched. 2017-09-09autofs: make dev ioctl version and ismountpoint user accessibleIan Kent1-1/+1
Some of the autofs miscellaneous device ioctls need to be accessable to user space applications without CAP_SYS_ADMIN to get information about autofs mounts. This macro is already defined in uapi header. Also use this macro where possible. 2017-02-28autofs: add command enum/macros for root-dir ioctlsTomohiro Kusumi1-2/+0
Sync root-dir ioctl with misc-char-dev ioctl's enum/macro format since these two types of ioctls aren't completely independent of each other in terms of command nr. No functional changes. 2017-02-28autofs: remove wrong commentTomohiro Kusumi1-4/+0
This format seems to have been taken from device mapper header, but autofs has no such file:function in both kernel and userspace. 2016-10-12autofs4: move linux/auto_dev-ioctl.h to uapi/linuxIan Kent1-0/+221
Since linux/auto_dev-ioctl.h wasn't included in include/linux/Kbuild it wasn't moved to uapi/linux as part of the uapi series.
