Initially, commit 4237c75c0a35 ("[MLSXFRM]: Auto-labeling of child
sockets") introduced security_inet_conn_request() in some functions
where reqsk is allocated. The hook is added just after the allocation,
so reqsk's IPv6 remote address was not initialised then.
However, SELinux/Smack started to read it in netlbl_req_setattr()
after commit e1adea927080 ("calipso: Allow request sockets to be
relabelled by the lsm.").
Commit 284904aa7946 ("lsm: Relocate the IPv4 security_inet_conn_request()
hooks") fixed that kind of issue only in TCPv4 because IPv6 labeling was
not supported at that time. Finally, the same issue was introduced again
in IPv6.
Let's apply the same fix on DCCPv6 and TCPv6.

dh->dccph_x is the 9th byte (offset 8) in "struct dccp_hdr",
not in the "byte 7" as Jann claimed.
We need to make sure the ICMP messages are big enough,
using more standard ways (no more assumptions).

There was a previous attempt to fix an out-of-bounds access in the DCCP
error handlers, but that fix assumed that the error handlers only want
to access the first 8 bytes of the DCCP header. Actually, they also look
at the DCCP sequence number, which is stored beyond 8 bytes, so an
explicit pskb_may_pull() is required.

IPv6 inet sockets are supposed to have a "struct ipv6_pinfo"
field at the end of their definition, so that inet6_sk_generic()
can derive from socket size the offset of the "struct ipv6_pinfo".
This is very fragile, and prevents adding bigger alignment
in sockets, because inet6_sk_generic() does not work
if the compiler adds padding after the ipv6_pinfo component.
We are currently working on a patch series to reorganize
TCP structures for better data locality and found issues
similar to the one fixed in commit f5d547676ca0
("tcp: fix tcp_inet6_sk() for 32bit kernels")
Alternative would be to force an alignment on "struct ipv6_pinfo",
greater or equal to __alignof__(any ipv6 sock) to ensure there is
no padding. This does not look great.

Eric Dumazet pointed out [0] that when we call skb_set_owner_r()
for ipv6_pinfo.pktoptions, sk_rmem_schedule() has not been called,
resulting in a negative sk_forward_alloc.
We add a new helper which clones a skb and sets its owner only
when sk_rmem_schedule() succeeds.
Note that we move skb_set_owner_r() forward in (dccp|tcp)_v6_do_rcv()
because tcp_send_synack() can make sk_forward_alloc negative before
ipv6_opt_accepted() in the crossed SYN-ACK or self-connect() cases.

If a socket bound to a wildcard address fails to connect(), we
only reset saddr and keep the port. Then, we have to fix up the
bhash2 bucket; otherwise, the bucket has an inconsistent address
in the list.
Also, listen() for such a socket will fire the WARN_ON() in
inet_csk_get_port(). [0]
Note that when a system runs out of memory, we give up fixing the
bucket and unlink sk from bhash and bhash2 by inet_put_port().

When we call connect() for a socket bound to a wildcard address, we update
saddr locklessly. However, it could result in a data race; another thread
iterating over bhash might see a corrupted address.

When connect() is called on a socket bound to the wildcard address,
we change the socket's saddr to a local address. If the socket
fails to connect() to the destination, we have to reset the saddr.
However, when an error occurs after inet_hash6?_connect() in
(dccp|tcp)_v[46]_conect(), we forget to reset saddr and leave
the socket bound to the address.
From the user's point of view, whether saddr is reset or not varies
with errno. Let's fix this inconsistent behaviour.
Note that after this patch, the repro [0] will trigger the WARN_ON()
in inet_csk_get_port() again, but this patch is not buggy and rather
fixes a bug papering over the bhash2's bug for which we need another
fix.
For the record, the repro causes -EADDRNOTAVAIL in inet_hash6_connect()
by this sequence:
s1 = socket()
s1.setsockopt(SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEADDR, 1)
s1.bind(('127.0.0.1', 10000))
s1.sendto(b'hello', MSG_FASTOPEN, (('127.0.0.1', 10000)))
# or s1.connect(('127.0.0.1', 10000))

in IPv6 sk->sk_destruct()."), we call inet6_destroy_sock() in
sk->sk_destruct() by setting inet6_sock_destruct() to it to make
sure we do not leak inet6-specific resources.
DCCP sets its own sk->sk_destruct() in the dccp_init_sock(), and
DCCPv6 socket shares it by calling the same init function via
dccp_v6_init_sock().
To call inet6_sock_destruct() from DCCPv6 sk->sk_destruct(), we
export it and set dccp_v6_sk_destruct() in the init function.

The current bind hashtable (bhash) is hashed by port only.
In the socket bind path, we have to check for bind conflicts by
traversing the specified port's inet_bind_bucket while holding the
hashbucket's spinlock (see inet_csk_get_port() and
inet_csk_bind_conflict()). In instances where there are tons of
sockets hashed to the same port at different addresses, the bind
conflict check is time-intensive and can cause softirq cpu lockups,
as well as stops new tcp connections since __inet_inherit_port()
also contests for the spinlock.
This patch adds a second bind table, bhash2, that hashes by
port and sk->sk_rcv_saddr (ipv4) and sk->sk_v6_rcv_saddr (ipv6).
Searching the bhash2 table leads to significantly faster conflict
resolution and less time holding the hashbucket spinlock.
Please note a few things:
* There can be the case where the a socket's address changes after it
has been bound. There are two cases where this happens:
1) The case where there is a bind() call on INADDR_ANY (ipv4) or
IPV6_ADDR_ANY (ipv6) and then a connect() call. The kernel will
assign the socket an address when it handles the connect()
2) In inet_sk_reselect_saddr(), which is called when rebuilding the
sk header and a few pre-conditions are met (eg rerouting fails).
In these two cases, we need to update the bhash2 table by removing the
entry for the old address, and add a new entry reflecting the updated
address.
* The bhash2 table must have its own lock, even though concurrent
accesses on the same port are protected by the bhash lock. Bhash2 must
have its own lock to protect against cases where sockets on different
ports hash to different bhash hashbuckets but to the same bhash2
hashbucket.
This brings up a few stipulations:
1) When acquiring both the bhash and the bhash2 lock, the bhash2 lock
will always be acquired after the bhash lock and released before the
bhash lock is released.
2) There are no nested bhash2 hashbucket locks. A bhash2 lock is always
acquired+released before another bhash2 lock is acquired+released.
* The bhash table cannot be superseded by the bhash2 table because for
bind requests on INADDR_ANY (ipv4) or IPV6_ADDR_ANY (ipv6), every socket
bound to that port must be checked for a potential conflict. The bhash
table is the only source of port->socket associations.

d507204d3c5cc57d9a8bdf0a477615bb59ea1611 ("tcp/dccp: add tw->tw_bslot")
As Leonard pointed out, a newly allocated netns can happen
to reuse a freed 'struct net'.
While TCP TW timers were covered by my patches, other things were not:
1) Lookups in rx path (INET_MATCH() and INET6_MATCH()), as they look
at 4-tuple plus the 'struct net' pointer.
2) /proc/net/tcp[6] and inet_diag, same reason.
3) hashinfo->bhash[], same reason.
Fixing all this seems risky, lets instead revert.
In the future, we might have a per netns tcp hash table, or
a per netns list of timewait sockets...

This reverts commit 6af1799aaf3f1bc8defedddfa00df3192445bbf3.
Commit 6af1799aaf3f ("ipv6: drop incoming packets having a v4mapped
source address") introduced an input check against v4mapped addresses.
Use of such addresses on the wire is indeed questionable and not
allowed on public Internet. As the commit pointed out
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-itojun-v6ops-v4mapped-harmful-02
lists potential issues.
Unfortunately there are applications which use v4mapped addresses,
and breaking them is a clear regression. For example v4mapped
addresses (or any semi-valid addresses, really) may be used
for uni-direction event streams or packet export.
Since the issue which sparked the addition of the check was with
TCP and request_socks in particular push the check down to TCPv6
and DCCP. This restores the ability to receive UDPv6 packets with
v4mapped address as the source.
Keep using the IPSTATS_MIB_INHDRERRORS statistic to minimize the
user-visible changes.

"While we have a small number of SELinux patches for v5.11, there are a
few changes worth highlighting:
- Change the LSM network hooks to pass flowi_common structs instead

full flowi struct and they do not have enough information to use it
safely (missing information on the address family).
This patch was discussed both with Herbert Xu (representing team
netdev) and James Morris (representing team

- Fix how we handle errors in inode_doinit_with_dentry() so that we

continuing to treat it as unlabeled.
- Tweak the kernel logic around allowx, auditallowx, and dontauditx

When the TCP stack is in SYN flood mode, the server child socket is
created from the SYN cookie received in a TCP packet with the ACK flag
set.
The child socket is created when the server receives the first TCP
packet with a valid SYN cookie from the client. Usually, this packet
corresponds to the final step of the TCP 3-way handshake, the ACK
packet. But is also possible to receive a valid SYN cookie from the
first TCP data packet sent by the client, and thus create a child socket
from that SYN cookie.
Since a client socket is ready to send data as soon as it receives the
SYN+ACK packet from the server, the client can send the ACK packet (sent
by the TCP stack code), and the first data packet (sent by the userspace
program) almost at the same time, and thus the server will equally
receive the two TCP packets with valid SYN cookies almost at the same
instant.
When such event happens, the TCP stack code has a race condition that
occurs between the momement a lookup is done to the established
connections hashtable to check for the existence of a connection for the
same client, and the moment that the child socket is added to the
established connections hashtable. As a consequence, this race condition
can lead to a situation where we add two child sockets to the
established connections hashtable and deliver two sockets to the
userspace program to the same client.
This patch fixes the race condition by checking if an existing child
socket exists for the same client when we are adding the second child
socket to the established connections socket. If an existing child
socket exists, we drop the packet and discard the second child socket
to the same client.

Processes can request ipv6 flowlabels with cmsg IPV6_FLOWINFO.
If not set, by default an autogenerated flowlabel is selected.
Explicit flowlabels require a control operation per label plus a
datapath check on every connection (every datagram if unconnected).
This is particularly expensive on unconnected sockets multiplexing
many flows, such as QUIC.
In the common case, where no lease is exclusive, the check can be
safely elided, as both lease request and check trivially succeed.
Indeed, autoflowlabel does the same even with exclusive leases.
Elide the check if no process has requested an exclusive lease.
fl6_sock_lookup previously returns either a reference to a lease or
NULL to denote failure. Modify to return a real error and update
all callers. On return NULL, they can use the label and will elide
the atomic_dec in fl6_sock_release.
This is an optimization. Robust applications still have to revert to
requesting leases if the fast path fails due to an exclusive lease.
Changes RFC->v1:
- use static_key_false_deferred to rate limit jump label operations
- call static_key_deferred_flush to stop timers on exit
- move decrement out of RCU context
- defer optimization also if opt data is associated with a lease
- updated all fp6_sock_lookup callers, not just udp

The SIOCGSTAMP/SIOCGSTAMPNS ioctl commands are implemented by many
socket protocol handlers, and all of those end up calling the same
sock_get_timestamp()/sock_get_timestampns() helper functions, which
results in a lot of duplicate code.
With the introduction of 64-bit time_t on 32-bit architectures, this
gets worse, as we then need four different ioctl commands in each
socket protocol implementation.
To simplify that, let's add a new .gettstamp() operation in
struct proto_ops, and move ioctl implementation into the common
sock_ioctl()/compat_sock_ioctl_trans() functions that these all go
through.
We can reuse the sock_get_timestamp() implementation, but generalize
it so it can deal with both native and compat mode, as well as
timeval and timespec structures.

We'll need this to handle ICMP errors for tunnels without a sending socket
(i.e. FoU and GUE). There, we might have to look up different types of IP
tunnels, registered as network protocols, before we get a match, so we
want this for the error handlers of IPPROTO_IPIP and IPPROTO_IPV6 in both
inet_protos and inet6_protos. These error codes will be used in the next
patch.
For consistency, return sensible error codes in protocol error handlers
whenever handlers can't handle errors because, even if valid, they don't
match a protocol or any of its states.
This has no effect on existing error handling paths.

The poll() changes were not well thought out, and completely
unexplained. They also caused a huge performance regression, because
"->poll()" was no longer a trivial file operation that just called down
to the underlying file operations, but instead did at least two indirect
calls.
Indirect calls are sadly slow now with the Spectre mitigation, but the
performance problem could at least be largely mitigated by changing the
"->get_poll_head()" operation to just have a per-file-descriptor pointer
to the poll head instead. That gets rid of one of the new indirections.
But that doesn't fix the new complexity that is completely unwarranted
for the regular case. The (undocumented) reason for the poll() changes
was some alleged AIO poll race fixing, but we don't make the common case
slower and more complex for some uncommon special case, so this all
really needs way more explanations and most likely a fundamental
redesign.
