2023-07-27scripts/spelling.txt: remove 'thead' as a typoDrew Fustini1-1/+0
T-Head is a vendor of processor core IP, and they have recently introduced the RISC-V TH1520 SoC. Remove 'thead' as a typo of 'thread' to avoid checkpatch incorrectly warning that 'thead' is typo in patches that add support for T-Head designs in the kernel. 2021-11-06scripts/spelling.txt: fix "mistake" version of "synchronization"Sven Eckelmann1-1/+1
If both "mistake" version and "correction" version are the same, a warning message is created by checkpatch which is impossible to fix. But it was noticed that Colan Ian King created a commit e6c0a0889b80 ("ALSA: aloop: Fix spelling mistake "synchronization" -> "synchronization"") which suggests that this spelling mistake was fixed by replacing the word "synchronization" with itself. But the actual diff shows that the mistake in the code was "sychronization". It is rather likely that the "mistake" in spelling.txt should have been the latter. 2019-07-12scripts/spelling.txt: drop "sepc" from the misspelling listPaul Walmsley1-1/+0
The RISC-V architecture has a register named the "Supervisor Exception Program Counter", or "sepc". This abbreviation triggers checkpatch.pl's misspelling detector, resulting in noise in the checkpatch output. The risk that this noise could cause more useful warnings to be missed seems to outweigh the harm of an occasional misspelling of "spec". Thus drop the "sepc" entry from the misspelling list.
