2019-10-05ALSA: hda/realtek - Blacklist PC beep for Lenovo ThinkCentre M73/93Takashi Iwai1-0/+3
[ Upstream commit 051c78af14fcd74a22b5af45548ad9d588247cc7 ] Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 and M93 don't seem to have a proper beep although the driver tries to probe and set up blindly. Blacklist these machines for suppressing the beep creation. 2019-09-16ALSA: hda/realtek - Fix overridden device-specific initializationTakashi Iwai1-0/+2
commit 89781d0806c2c4f29072d3f00cb2dd4274aabc3d upstream. The recent change to shuffle the codec initialization procedure for Realtek via commit 607ca3bd220f ("ALSA: hda/realtek - EAPD turn on later") caused the silent output on some machines. This change was supposed to be safe, but it isn't actually; some devices have quirk setups to override the EAPD via COEF or BTL in the additional verb table, which is applied at the beginning of snd_hda_gen_init(). And this EAPD setup is again overridden in alc_auto_init_amp(). For recovering from the regression, tell snd_hda_gen_init() not to apply the verbs there by a new flag, then apply the verbs in alc_init(). 2019-06-11ALSA: hda/realtek - Set default power save node to 0Kailang Yang1-1/+1
commit 317d9313925cd8388304286c0d3c8dda7f060a2d upstream. I measured power consumption between power_save_node=1 and power_save_node=0. It's almost the same. Codec will enter to runtime suspend and suspend. That pin also will enter to D3. Don't need to enter to D3 by single pin. So, Disable power_save_node as default. It will avoid more issues. Windows Driver also has not this option at runtime PM. 2019-06-11ALSA: hda/realtek - Fix for Lenovo B50-70 inverted internal microphone bugMichał Wadowski1-1/+1
commit 56df90b631fc027fe28b70d41352d820797239bb upstream. Add patch for realtek codec in Lenovo B50-70 that fixes inverted internal microphone channel. Device IdeaPad Y410P has the same PCI SSID as Lenovo B50-70, but first one is about fix the noise and it didn't seem help in a later kernel version. So I replaced IdeaPad Y410P device description with B50-70 and apply inverted microphone fix. commit 709ae62e8e6d9ac4df7dadb3b8ae432675c45ef9 upstream. The issue is the same as commit dd9aa335c880 ("ALSA: hda/realtek - Can't adjust speaker's volume on a Dell AIO"), the output requires to connect to a node with Amp-out capability. 2018-05-30ALSA: hda - Use IS_REACHABLE() for dependency on inputTakashi Iwai1-0/+5
[ Upstream commit c469652bb5e8fb715db7d152f46d33b3740c9b87 ] The commit ffcd28d88e4f ("ALSA: hda - Select INPUT for Realtek HD-audio codec") introduced the reverse-selection of CONFIG_INPUT for Realtek codec in order to avoid the mess with dependency between built-in and modules. Later on, we obtained IS_REACHABLE() macro exactly for this kind of problems, and now we can remove th INPUT selection in Kconfig and put IS_REACHABLE(INPUT) to the appropriate places in the code, so that the driver doesn't need to select other subsystem forcibly. 2018-05-02ALSA: hda/realtek - Add some fixes for ALC233Kailang Yang1-0/+2
commit ea04a1dbf8b1d6af759d58e705636fde48583f8f upstream. Fill COEF to change EAPD to verb control. Assigned codec type. This is an additional fix over 92f974df3460 ("ALSA: hda/realtek - New vendor ID for ALC233"). [ More notes: according to Kailang, the chip is 10ec:0235 bonding for ALC233b, which is equivalent with ALC255. It's only used for Lenovo. 2018-03-28ALSA: hda/realtek - Always immediately update mute LED with pin VREFTakashi Iwai1-1/+5
commit e40bdb03d3cd7da66bd0bc1e40cbcfb49351265c upstream. Some HP laptops have a mute mute LED controlled by a pin VREF. The Realtek codec driver updates the VREF via vmaster hook by calling snd_hda_set_pin_ctl_cache(). This works fine as long as the driver is running in a normal mode. However, when the VREF change happens during the codec being in runtime PM suspend, the regmap access will skip and postpone the actual register change. This ends up with the unchanged LED status until the next runtime PM resume even if you change the Master mute switch. (Interestingly, the machine keeps the LED status even after the codec goes into D3 -- but it's another story.) For improving this usability, let the driver temporarily powering up / down only during the pin VREF change. This can be achieved easily by wrapping the call with snd_hda_power_up_pm() / *_down_pm(). 2018-03-18ALSA: hda/realtek - Fix dock line-out volume on Dell Precision 7520Takashi Iwai1-0/+16
commit e312a869cd726c698a75caca0d9e5c22fd3f1534 upstream. The dock line-out pin (NID 0x17 of ALC3254 codec) on Dell Precision 7520 may route to three different DACs, 0x02, 0x03 and 0x06. The first two DACS have the volume amp controls while the last one doesn't. And unfortunately, the auto-parser assigns this pin to DAC3, resulting in the non-working volume control for the line out. Fix it by disabling the routing to DAC3 on the corresponding pin. 2018-02-22ALSA: hda/realtek: PCI quirk for Fujitsu U7x7Jan-Marek Glogowski1-0/+19
commit fdcc968a3b290407bcba9d4c90e2fba6d8d928f1 upstream. These laptops have a combined jack to attach headsets, the U727 on the left, the U757 on the right, but a headsets microphone doesn't work. Using hdajacksensetest I found that pin 0x19 changed the present state when plugging the headset, in addition to 0x21, but didn't have the correct configuration (shown as "Not connected"). So this sets the configuration to the same values as the headphone pin 0x21 except for the device type microphone, which makes it work correctly. With the patch the configured pins for U727 are Pin 0x12 (Internal Mic, Mobile-In): present = No Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x19 (Black Mic, Left side): present = No Pin 0x1d (Internal Aux): present = No Pin 0x21 (Black Headphone, Left side): present = No Signed-off-by: Jan-Marek Glogowski <glogow@fbihome.de> Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2017-04-08ALSA: hda - fix a problem for lineout on a Dell AIO machineHui Wang1-1/+11
commit 2f726aec19a9d2c63bec9a8a53a3910ffdcd09f8 upstream. On this Dell AIO machine, the lineout jack does not work. We found the pin 0x1a is assigned to lineout on this machine, and in the past, we applied ALC298_FIXUP_DELL1_MIC_NO_PRESENCE to fix the heaset-set mic problem for this machine, this fixup will redefine the pin 0x1a to headphone-mic, as a result the lineout doesn't work anymore. After adding the definition in the table, the headset microphone works well. 2016-08-20ALSA: hda - Fix headset mic detection problem for two dell machinesHui Wang1-0/+6
commit 59ec4b57bcaede46546d54d037a21004b9aa5cef upstream. One of the machines has ALC255 on it, another one has ALC298 on it. On the machine with the codec ALC298, it also has the speaker volume problem, so we add the fixup chained to ALC298_FIXUP_SPK_VOLUME rather than adding a group of pin definition in the pin quirk table, since the speak volume problem does not happen on other machines yet. commit dd9aa335c88003d131ac874e7f6809902de0b847 upstream. We have a Dell AIO on which we can't adjust its speaker's volume. The problem is it is connected to a Audio Output node without Amp-out capability. To fix it, we change it to be connnected to a node with Amp-out capability.
