2023-11-23ASoC: cs43130: Allow driver to work without IRQ connectionMaciej Strozek1-23/+54
Add a polling mechanism that will keep the driver operational even in absence of physical IRQ connection. If IRQ line is detected, the driver will continue working as usual, in case of missing IRQ line it will fallback to the polling mechanism introduced in this change. This will support users which choose not to connect an IRQ line as it is not critical to part's operation. 2023-10-09ASoC: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring1-2/+1
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. The cs43130 can only support single register read and write operations so does not benefit from block writes. This means it gets no benefit from using the rbtree register cache over the maple tree register cache so convert it to use maple trees instead, it is more modern. 2022-08-16i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins, but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins were not going to be added. This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol. cs43130_probe() does not do any valid error checking of things it initializes, OR what it does, it does not unwind properly if there are errors. Fix this up by moving the sysfs files to an attribute group so the driver core will correctly add/remove them all at once and handle errors with them, and correctly check for creating a new workqueue and unwinding if that fails. Because of recent interactions with developers from @umn.edu, all commits from them have been recently re-reviewed to ensure if they were correct or not. Upon review, this commit was found to be incorrect for the reasons below, so it must be reverted. It will be fixed up "correctly" in a later kernel change. The original patch here is not correct, sysfs files that were created are not unwound. 2018-09-07regmap: split up regmap_config.use_single_rwDavid Frey1-1/+3
Split regmap_config.use_single_rw into use_single_read and use_single_write. This change enables drivers of devices which only support bulk operations in one direction to use the regmap_bulk_*() functions for both directions and have their bulk operation split into single operations only when necessary. Update all struct regmap_config instances where use_single_rw==true to instead set both use_single_read and use_single_write. No attempt was made to evaluate whether it is possible to set only one of use_single_read or use_single_write.
