Instead of calling put_device(&adev->dev) where adev is a pointer to an ACPI device, use specific call, i.e. acpi_dev_put(). Also move it out of the conditional to make it more visible in case some other code will be added which may use that pointer. We need to keep a reference as long as we use the pointer. 2022-06-09Specify clock provider directly to CPU DAIsMark Brown1-3/+3
Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>: Currently the set_fmt callback always passes clock provider/consumer with respect to the CODEC. This made sense when the framework was directly broken down into platforms and CODECs. However, as things are now broken down into components which can be connected as either the CPU or CODEC side of a DAI link it simplifies things if each side of the link is just told if it is provider or consumer of the clocks. Making this change allows us to remove one of the last parts of the ASoC core that needs to know if a driver is a CODEC driver, where it flips the clock format specifier if a CODEC driver is used on the CPU side of a DAI link, as well as just being conceptually more consistent with componentisation. The basic idea of this patch chain is to change the set_fmt callback from specifying if the CODEC is provider/consumer into directly specifying if the component is provider/consumer. To do this we add some new defines, and then to preserve bisectability, the migration is done by adding a new callback, converting over all existing CPU side drivers, converting the core, and then finally reverting back to the old callback. Converting the platform drivers makes sense as the existing defines are from the perspective of the CODEC and there are more CODEC drivers than platform drivers. Obviously a fair amount of this patch chain I was only able to build test, so any testing that can be done would be greatly appreciated.

snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins, but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins were not going to be added. This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol. The Atom/SST driver does not rely on ASoC power management, but the SOF driver does. Rather than using a hard-coded build-time assignment, we can set this pm_ops dynamically depending on what the parent is. That will remove the last build-time dependency and allow for coexistence of both SST and SOF drivers for Baytrail/Cherrytrail. Blindly adding an sof- prefix to the card name is not user friendly and causes UCM issues with a driver name truncated to 16 characters. Simplify to use "sof-bytcht <codec_name>" pattern for all cht* machine drivers. The sof- prefix is added by the core. A generic "SOF" driver name is used, and UCMv2 will detect the configuration for this driver by testing the card name. Legacy uses are unmodified. 2019-10-01ASoC: Intel: cht_bsw_rt5645: Add quirk for boards using pmc_plt_clk_0Sam McNally1-6/+20
As of commit 648e921888ad ("clk: x86: Stop marking clocks as CLK_IS_CRITICAL"), the cht_bsw_rt5645 driver needs to enable the clock it's using for the codec's mclk. It does this from commit 7735bce05a9c ("ASoC: Intel: boards: use devm_clk_get() unconditionally"), enabling pmc_plt_clk_3. However, Strago family Chromebooks use pmc_plt_clk_0 for the codec mclk, resulting in white noise with some digital microphones. Add a DMI-based quirk for Strago family Chromebooks to use pmc_plt_clk_0 instead - mirroring the changes made to cht_bsw_max98090_ti in commit a182ecd3809c ("ASoC: intel: cht_bsw_max98090_ti: Add quirk for boards using pmc_plt_clk_0") and making use of the existing dmi_check_system() call and related infrastructure added in commit 22af29114eb4 ("ASoC: Intel: cht-bsw-rt5645: add quirks for SSP0/AIF1/AIF2 routing"). We have duplicated code in multiple locations (atom, machine drivers, SOF) to detect Baytrail, Cherrytrail and other SOCs. This is not very elegant, and introduces dependencies on CONFIG_X86 that prevent COMPILE_TEST from working. Add common helpers to provide same functionality in a cleaner way. This will also help support the DMI-based quirks being introduced to handle SOF/SST autodetection. snd_cht_mc_probe snd_cht_mc_probe() is never called in atomic context. This function is only set as ".probe" in "struct platform_driver". Despite never getting called from atomic context, snd_cht_mc_probe() calls devm_kzalloc() with GFP_ATOMIC, which waits busily for allocation. GFP_ATOMIC is not necessary and can be replaced with GFP_KERNEL, to avoid busy waiting and improve the possibility of sucessful allocation. 2018-01-03ASoC: Intel: cht_bsw_rt5645: Analog Mic supportHans de Goede1-0/+7
Various Cherry Trail boards with a rt5645 codec have an analog mic connected to IN2P + IN2N. The mic on this boards also needs micbias to be enabled, on some boards micbias1 is used and on others micbias2, so we enable both. This commit adds a new "Int Analog Mic" DAPM widget for this, so that we do not end up enabling micbias on boards with a digital mic which uses the already present "Int Mic" widget. Some existing UCM files already refer to "Int Mic" for their "Internal Analog Microphones" SectionDevice, but these don't work anyways since they enable the RECMIX BST1 Switch instead of the BST2 switch. 2017-10-18ASoC: Intel: boards: remove hard-coded compressed dailinksPierre-Louis Bossart1-8/+0
The hard-coded compressed dailinks are not supported using publicly-available firmwares, which creates unnecessary user confusion [1]. Even if the firmware was available, the mainline code does not have the required .dynamic=1 and .dpcm_playback=1 fields so probably never worked as is, and last and they conflict with topology-defined streams. Remove them and move on. This can be re-enabled with SOF later in a more flexible manner. 2017-09-19ASoC: Intel: boards: use devm_clk_get() unconditionallyPierre-Louis Bossart1-8/+6
The clock framework was only used in Baytrail, on Cherrytrail the firmware takes care of the MCLK/plt_clk_3. With the fix in 'commit d31fd43c0f9a ("clk: x86: Do not gate clocks enabled by the firmware")' the firmware-managed clocks are not impacted by enable/disable requests make at the driver level, and the rates are identical. Remove all checks for Baytrail and use devm_clk_get() unconditionally. Tested on Asus T100HA (CHT) and Asus T100TAF (BYT) Note that the RT5640 and RT5645 machine drivers need to keep some checks for Valleyview to check for Baytrail-CR. The existing code assumes a 19.2 MHz MCLK as the default hardware configuration. This is valid for CherryTrail but not for Baytrail. Add explicit MCLK configuration to set the 19.2 clock on/off depending on DAPM events.
