2024-01-27perf vendor events intel: Alderlake/sapphirerapids metric fixesIan Rogers3-160/+123
As events are deduplicated by name, ensure PMU prefixes are always used in metrics. Previously they may be missed on the first event in a formula. Update metric constraints for architectures with topdown l2 events. Make the jevents parser aware of the Unified Memory Controller (UMC) PMU and add events taken from Section 8.2.1 "UMC Performance Monitor Events" of the Processor Programming Reference (PPR) for AMD Family 19h Model 11h processors. The events capture UMC command activity such as CAS, ACTIVATE, PRECHARGE etc. while the metrics derive data bus utilization and memory bandwidth out of these events. Broadwell-de has a consumer core and server uncore. The uncore_arb PMU isn't present and the broadwellx style cbox PMU should be used instead. There are cases where a metric requires more events than the number of available counters. E.g. AMD Zen, Zen 2 and Zen 3 processors have four data fabric counters but the "nps1_die_to_dram" metric has eight events. By default, the constituent events are placed in a group and since the events cannot be scheduled at the same time, the metric is not computed. The "all metrics" test also fails because of this. Use the NO_GROUP_EVENTS constraint for such metrics which anyway expect the user to run perf with "--metric-no-group". 2023-06-16perf metric: JSON flag to default metric groupKan Liang6-76/+114
For the default output, the default metric group could vary on different platforms. For example, on SPR, the TopdownL1 and TopdownL2 metrics should be displayed in the default mode. On ICL, only the TopdownL1 should be displayed. Add a flag so we can tag the default metric group for different platforms rather than hack the perf code. The flag is added to Intel TopdownL1 since ICL and ADL, TopdownL2 metrics since SPR. Add a new field, DefaultMetricgroupName, in the JSON file to indicate the real metric group name.
