2021-09-28ABI: sysfs-bus-mdio: add alternate What for mdio symbolsMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+9
Not all sysfs nodes are shown under: /sys/bus/mdio_bus/devices/... They can also be at: /sys/class/mdio_bus/.../ So, update the What: entries to allow both. 2020-01-17net: phy: Maintain MDIO device and bus statisticsFlorian Fainelli1-0/+63
We maintain global statistics for an entire MDIO bus, as well as broken down, per MDIO bus address statistics. Given that it is possible for MDIO devices such as switches to access MDIO bus addresses for which there is not a mdio_device instance created (therefore not a a corresponding device directory in sysfs either), we also maintain per-address statistics under the statistics folder. The layout looks like this: /sys/class/mdio_bus/../statistics/ transfers errrors writes reads transfers_<addr> errors_<addr> writes_<addr> reads_<addr> When a mdio_device instance is registered, a statistics/ folder is created with the tranfers, errors, writes and reads attributes which point to the appropriate MDIO bus statistics structure. Statistics are 64-bit unsigned quantities and maintained through the u64_stats_sync.h helper functions. 2019-05-29Documentation: net-sysfs: Remove duplicate PHY device documentationFlorian Fainelli1-29/+0
Both sysfs-bus-mdio and sysfs-class-net-phydev contain the same duplication information. There is not currently any MDIO bus specific attribute, but there are PHY device (struct phy_device) specific attributes. Use the more precise description from sysfs-bus-mdio and carry that over to sysfs-class-net-phydev. 2014-02-13net: phy: expose phydev->has_fixups to sysfsFlorian Fainelli1-0/+10
Expose the PHY device has_fixups boolean as a sysfs property to help troubleshooting PHY configurations. Signed-off-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-02-13net: phy: expose PHY device interface modeFlorian Fainelli1-0/+10
Expose the PHY device interface mode through sysfs since this is an useful piece of information for knowing how the attached networking device will have configured its transmit/receive path. Signed-off-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-11-10phylib: mdio: Add sysfs attribute for PHY identifiers.Nick Bowler1-0/+9
This adds a phy_id sysfs attribute to MDIO devices, containing the 32-bit PHY identifier reported by the device. This attribute can be useful when debugging problems related to phy drivers. Other enumerable buses already have similar attributes. Signed-off-by: Nick Bowler <nbowler@elliptictech.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
